Gonna have to disagree on difficulty though unless the original was a lot harder. Maybe it was just 'cause I was a lot younger when I played FFT but for a first runthrough it posed much more challenge than Tactics Ogre, which is extremely easy until you hit sidequests in the final chapter. Of course once you know all the little niches with FFTs job system you can break the game in half like nobodies business, but I'd still put it at a higher difficulty playing normally. Either way TO is an awesome game too, that is for sure.

FFT is one of the easiest SRPGs ever, TO did it a lot better... without any doubt.
(and yes, it was significantly harder for a number of reasons)

You need the hook-up on some good PSP titles..? Just let me know.
A list of PSP games you recommend would be great, I just never really feel like ive used my PSP enough. Anything other than Sports or Fighters I can usually give a try to.

if so, enjoy. TO is the better game in a lot of ways, from story to difficulty, though FFT's job system gives it an almost automatic win.
Yeah, somehow this game fell through the cracks or something cause I never played it. I played Knight of Lodis a few years ago and Ogre Battle 64 though this is different from these two.

So far im liking it as much as Tactics though each has charms the other lacks. I actually enjoy that monsters aren't completely worthless in TO.

And there doesn't seem to be a lot of leeway between "really easy" and "will probably kill you," - and again, both are found in the same place. It's just an interesting approach.
Some of the mobs are easily oneshot using slayer weapons though I recall those "Bomb" type enemies were beyond cheap if you couldn't oneshot in a PWS chain. Some of the dungeons are really easy but really only a handful were hard - Clockwork Mansion, Salerno Academy, Tombs of Amenti, Tower of Lezard Valeth offhand.

But yeah, sometimes really cheap mobs get mixed in with easy mobs. Oh and Cave of Oblivion can be a random asskicking.

Allllllmost done with Radiant Historia, but towards the very end the difficulty gets really weird. I don't really like being able to completely wipe out enemies, including bosses, with some really convenient turn set-ups and grid configurations, while also possibly having to run for my life in a normal battle right after because random jerk #4 dealt more damage than I could've defended against in any scenario right out of the gate.

Like I'm not sure if I'm way under-leveled or am just straight up terrible at choosing equipment/the game. Either way Aht and Gafka rip through most of the game with ease.

Decided to gamefly Nier again since I was a twat and only bothered to do 1 ending. Going to get my hands on Fight Night Champion in the near future I believe.

Playing my friend's copy of Yakuza 3 and loving it. I can't wait to get a hold of his Yakuza 4 when he is done. Also jumping around between MHP3 and God(s) Eater Burst on PSP as well as Monster Tale, Radiant Historia, Culdcept DS Translation and Okamiden on DS. Too much on my plate.

Speaking of Gamefly, so goddamn annoying sometimes. I mailed back LBP2 and Dragon Age 2 last week, they got them both on Weds... and mailed me Alpha Protocol and nothing else. Even though there are plenty of "Available Now" games on my list like Crysis 2 (PS3) and Lost in Shadow. WTF Gamefly? WTF? I emailed them but have not even got an automated "We are totally checking this shit out right now, one sec" email. -.-

Endings B,C, and D are worth it. Just remember that ending D deletes that save data as well.

Now, I don't doubt there's more awesome games on PSP but these are the ones I've personally had experience with, tried to leave fighting games off the list... with one exception.

    Crimson Gem Saga
    Crisis Core
Daxter/and the other Jak and Daxter game, both are good
All of the PSP God of War games
    Gradius Collection
    GripShift
GTA: Vice City Stories/Liberty City Stories
    Gurumin
Hexyz Force (one of my favorite turn-based RPGs in recent years, surprised me because I thought it was going to be extremely stupid)
    Jeanne D'Arc
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (better story[lol] than KH2 and actually difficult on the hardest mode, I'm going to disagree with people who say the actual core battle system is better than KH2's though, that's a load of bull)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (but it's just a port of the console version, so if you've already played it, skip this)
    MGS: Peace Walker
Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite (skip all the other PSP MH games and just play this one)
    Phantasy Star Portable 2
Power Stone Collection (unless you own the games on Dreamcast, in which case, BROFIST) technically a fighting game but if you don't like this anyway you're just a faggot
    Rengoku 2
Star Ocean: First Departure (the SO2 remake is only something you'll want to play if you get a nostalgia attack after playing First Departure, not enough has changed otherwise)
Tales of Eternia (Tales of Destiny II here in the US on PS1 if you haven't already played it)
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (2 and 3 are also on the PSP but only in moonrunes, if you're okay with that... actually I could add a lot more to this list if you don't mind playing games in Japanese)
    Valkyria Chronicles 2
Warriors Orochi 1 & 2 (also multiplatform so, you don't have to get em on PSP)
    Wild Arms XF

And then there's the Ys games, I only played Ys: The Ark of Napishtim which was pretty cool at first but then I got bored of it. The other games look way better but I just don't really care much about the series so I never grabbed them. Maybe try Ys Seven and see if you like it. Kiarax seemed to like it quite a bit.

Man, I don't even know where to start with Kuroi's list: Tons of good games there.

I will second Hexyz Force, though. I really enjoyed it.

I'd cosign the entire list (though there's a couple I haven't played or haven't played enough to recommend) with a minor situational exception. If you have custom firmware go for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd instead of Freedom Unite. It's only available in Japanese but there's a translation patch here that makes pretty much everything English. Just random item descriptions for materials that aren't translated basically. If you can't use the patch obviously you'll want MHFU since it's actually English though.

And adding a few of my own suggestions:
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (also includes an unlockable Symphony of the Night, which owns)
Gladiator Begins (this feels like a budget title or something but once you get into it it's pretty awesome, balls hard though)
    Gods Eater Burst
    Half Minute Hero
    DJ Max Portable 3
Patapon (there's a second one and 3 is out like next week too I think)
    Prinny 1 and 2
    Tokobot

Domon mentioned Ys but just to go in to it a little more. There's 4 (well, 5 if you want to get technical) available, I haven't played Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles so I can't comment on that. Otherwise there's Ark of Napishtim, Oath in Felghana and Ys Seven available. Seven is by far the most enjoyable, followed by Oath in Felghana and then Ark of Napishtim, but I'd say they're all worth checking out if you enjoy action RPGs. Napishtim suffers from a few overall design flaws though so I wouldn't rate it too highly though. Don't worry about playing them in any sort of chronological order should you decide to check them out, since they all just passively reference prior games in the storyline and are largely unrelated. Although a main character from Napishtim is in Seven too.

Aside from those, there's some obvious ports available too like:
    Valkyrie Profiles
    Disgaea 1 and 2
Persona 3 Portable (1 is out and 2 is coming out soon aswell)
    Gitaroo Man
    Parappa the Rapper
    Metal Slug XX

Probably forgetting a bunch but whatever. Domon covered most of the shit I've played that comes to mind already, lol.

Ys Seven and Ys Oath in Felghana are both really good psp games, probably my favorites. Hexyz Force as mentioned by Kuro and Ayn already is very good. There is one jrpg coming next week called Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky which looks really good to me so you may want to check that out as well.

I still need to finish up Radiant Historia and also started up Mass Effect 2 on ps3. I'm trying to finish those so I can get back to 999 and get more endings.

Awesome, just the type of list I needed though I probably have played/beaten 30% of the games on this list. I tend to avoid fully JP games for obvious reasons (if it isn't a platformer, im fucked). Prinny seems interesting so i'll have check that and Metal Slug XX out.

Dunno why but Kingdom Hearts just never interested me and Disgaea I have to work up an appetite to grind. Given Pokemon and Tactics Ogre have me grinding out, it shouldn't be hard to flow into Disgaea 2 afterwards. Monster Hunter also should be ripe for the playing.

What's the opinion on Jeanne D'Arc? I saw it in a store ages ago but never really checked into it beyond that. Yay or Nay?

Jeanne D'Arc is my 2nd favorite SRPG on the PSP so far, behind Tactics Ogre. It's on the easy side though.
When you transform and mow your way through enemies and get like 5 turns in a row because you're a fucking badass, you stop caring about the fact that it's too easy because it's just too awesome.

Yeah I'd definitely recommend Jeanne d'Arc, though I never actually finished it myself. Think I will pick it back up again sometime soon, it's a damn fun SRPG.

I think I ended up stopping halfway and getting rid of it, but not because it was a bad game. It was quite fun, I was just overloaded on strat RPGs at the time, played my fill of it, and realized I wasn't getting back to it any time soon.

But don't let that stop you from playing it. It really is a fun game.

Been playing ATQ/3 a lot lately, trying to finish getting plat for it so I can return it. Should finally be done platting this shit in next few days. I'll probably stop playing much when I get DW7 this week. Still trying to make time for God Eater Burst as well, which I been having a lot of fun with. Just wish a few more friends got it as well!

I really need to play my PSP more often, missed out on shitload of great games.
