Look, my version of the thread was undeniably better, rofl.
I miss Amplitude and Frequency
Rock Band Unplugged for PSP (and the recent DS releases too I guess) were spiritual successors to Amp/Freq in some aspects. Only real problem I had with them though is that they're too fucking easy for anyone who is a Frequency/Amp veteran
The amount of hours I spent playing Frequency online.....man. Almost justified the entire cost of my PS2+NetworkAdapter bundle.
Took 20 hrs to get all of the achievements for The Force Unleashed 2, game while short was enjoyable. The challenge's were frustrating for the most part, not hard. Worth the 20 bux I paid for it.
Looking forward to Portal 2 this month and L.A. Noire next. At least one game every month Im looking forward to.
PSP:
Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny - Nice filler from 4, but I swear the AI is full of bullshit sometimes.
Queen's Blade: Spiral Chaos - SRW + Queen's Blade = win
Brave Story: New Traveler - A RPG story worth reading through and not spamming X to skip.
Breath of Fire 3(port) - Because of the BOF thread
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky - Like Brave Story this is actually worth reading.
Currently waiting on SRW Z2 to leak so add that to the list soon.
Demon's Souls...
I have no idea how beating 4-1 on NG+ is supposed to be possible. Blocking takes up 1/4 of my stamina per hit, and when they hit me 1-2times on roll, then 1 time with sword, I'm pretty much out of stamina already. Or I can dodge. That usually ends up with me getting hit by a second roll they decide to do after they miss with the 1st. Or I can try ranged attacks... except they just keep rolling at me as I hit them and I dont kill them before they get to me. Soul Arrow works, but I'd go through way too many spices to make that feasible. The only way that seems to work is if I hit them 1st, but much of the time they just immediately start rolling and then run out my stamina/hp
4-1 was the yellow dude with the bird on his head? I always just got down as fast as I could, and attacked his front-left (your right) foot, and rolled behind him whenever I saw him prepare an attack. Only got hit once by him in the 4 runs of NG I did.
As for me, I've been wasting money apparently. Picked up Darksiders and Lego Star Wars Complete Edition a week ago, and haven't touched either of them once. Also picked up Bioshock 2 and Patapon 2 for $10 each yesterday, and I only bothered to play Patapon so far. I think resubscribing to FFXI was a mistake. >.>
Granted, I was surprised to see that my copy of Patapon2 came with a UMD, I wasn't aware that they shipped physical copies of it besides the voucher-code cases.
Oh, those fuckers. I levelled DEX to use my bow for that reason (well, that and lizards), I could typically two-shot them from a distance. If not, I use ranged to get their attention (plus free damage), and keep guard up while they do their rolling BS, rthen dodge their attack and whail on them.
Granted, I also abused the shortcut in 4-1 to skip a good 80% of the level.
I definitely used Range on those effers once I could 1-2 shot em. Before that I used a blunt magic based weapon and just dodged their attack and could 1-2 hit them with that. Blessed Mace +'d up maybe? They broadcast their attacks pretty obviously, once you have that down they aren't nearly as intimidating anymore.
Just Platinum Dynasty Warriors 7! I still plan to play this quite a bit, even after platinum, just gonna focus on maxing out characters I like now and run co-op a few times with friends to play around with new characters.
Can't decide what to move onto next, still trying to decide what game to gamefly... leaning towards MvC3 atm though, unless I come across something else. I'll probably be picking up GOTY edition of Borderlands this week, so I'll be looking forward to playing that if I do decide to get it.
Got the platinum for Yakuza 3 just now, can't believe this series isn't more popular in the U.S. Very satisfying platinum, even grew to like that koi-koi card game a bit.
I'm playing Unlimited SaGa again.
Fuck this game.
..Yet I keep coming back for more.
ThanksGL with the last endings in Rorona, and I hope you enjoy doing it all over again in ATQ for Platinum :D When you start up ATQ, prepare to shake your controller a lot, and be ready for half-naked lolis.
Also, for those who played Nier, is the grinding really that bad in it? I think I'm getting burnt out grinding shit now, lol. I still plan to pick up Nier eventually, probably sometime next month.
Nier is fucking awesome and there is no grinding required.
