Been playing the fucking tits off of Age of Empires: Age of Kings for DS. Never really see it come up when strategy games are mentioned and didn't expect it to be that appealing when I read about it but good god that shit is addictive. Has a really great learning curve that prepares you well for each new time period and enables them to throw completely fucked up shit at you yet prepare you for dealing with it too. I think I spent a solid 2 hours on a single campaign during Genghis Khan's story last night. Still 2 entirely new storylines to play after playing this most nights for the last week and it already has me itching to play the next release.

Its been one of the games on my backlog and been meaning to play it, same with Mythologies for the DS. Always go system to system playing games and currently on PS3, but wife has been playing it a lot lately so might give this a go while she is on it.

Just started Enslaved, and it's... alright. I've kept playing it after an hour which isn't something I can't say about the last 3 games I rented.

The platforming reminded me of Uncharted, but in the "I wish this game's platforming was done like Uncharted so it would be more than just smashing X while I move my analog controller all over the place."

It's pretty easy too. at least so far. Just started chapter 3, but I'm on hard and haven't really had any problems.

I'm glad the "protect the girl" thing hasn't really had much impact on the game, because the "escort person/keep them safe" section of games is absolutely the worst part of any game I have ever played. I'm hoping it stays the way it has and doesn't increase the danger she's in, though I doubt it.

just got Bioshock 2. not sure whether to start with this or the first one. I'd save myself some money if I got the Bioshock/Oblivion bundle since I plan on getting Oblivion anyway, but then again the 5-year anniversary edition of Oblivion comes out end of June for the same price (albeit no Bioshock). really want to check out OOO for Oblivion, since I've played vanilla to death.

also thinking of picking up Mass Effect and the sequel on steam. hooray for PC gaming <3

Been awhile since I played Bioshock 2... cant recall if it has many spoilers to the first game. The first is better experience that I still find to be one of my favorite games, can't say that for the 2nd, but still not a bad squeal, just not the best.

The story for Bioshock is pretty high end. You'd miss out on some of the mythology if you skip it, but 2 doesn't really give anything away other than a few random comments about the first game.

well the Oblivion + Bioshock bundle jumped down to $8.50 on amazon, so I guess I'll be playing the first Bioshock. need a copy of Oblivion anyhow, and torrents weren't working out very well.

Do you get a CD-Key or something with Amazon DL games? They have ME2 for $10 but I'd rather get it on steam.

Also, Bioshock 1 has the story, bioshock 2 is basically just a combo pack of dlc for the original game because it came out before dlc was an industry standard.

If you want something to push your new system, Metro 2033 is $7.99 on Amazon atm, and is certainly a demanding title. It's cheap at times on Steam too though, and the retail release uses Steam as its DRM...so all you really get with the disc is an installer cache for Steam.

3 Trophies away from finishing off this Mirror's Edge plat. I don't feel too too bad because theres only 1 person on my friend list that even has anything towards this game. After that though...I'm not sure what to go back to...

Nice work. Most of the trophy sites regard that as one of the tougher platinums to get.

Yea, the game is too easy.

But I dig the game because I just kinda fell in love with the world & characters. I don' t know what it is with this game, a lot of people don't seem to like it. Doesn't pull you in really either. But for some reason I had a blast playing through it.

I'm a bit of an Andy Serkis fan though (you know, Gollum in LOTR). He did the voice for Monkey.

I don't want to spoil anything, but I'd advise you to play on a bit, there's some cool mechanics & character(s) coming up in later chapters that are worth it imo.

Started into Alan Wake last night.

Funky controls and some super cheesy dialogue, but not a bad game so far.

This is pretty much how I feel about Enslaved, as it's weird since I normally play for the gameplay, not to see the character interactions/banter. The gameplay overall is pretty basic and suffers from "Can I jump/climb on that? ....Nope." with the platforming.

I have said it before, but... unlike the majority, I really enjoyed Enslaved. It has plenty of flaws I suppose, and it isn't that difficult at all, and the ending may leave a shitty taste in some people's mouths but I really really liked it. For me it was very similar to the pacing of a game like Uncharted (1 or 2) where I just never felt like stopping. I nearly played the damn thing without stopping because it just kept me interested, the world, the characters, the VA and yes even the story.

It isn't for everyone clearly, as reviews show, but I really did love the game.

I bought Brink for 20 bucks from a Blockbuster that was closing down and I gotta say, I want my money back.

Enslaved shall be my next platinum. Didn't like it much at first, but now I love it. Though the camera makes the game far less enjoyable. On chapter 9 atm, started on Hard and just had my only really annoying and difficult fight so far at the end of chapter 8 right after the windmill with the football player looking things.
Boss fights are extremely lacking. Dog fights are extremely boring and tedious.
