Just read about a glitch in Enslaved that will make the game say you have 99% of the tech orbs for a level even if you got all 100% of them. and the only fix is to start a completely new game :/


so... I just beat chapter 3 without losing health once, and I definitely didn't die, but they trophies for doing so didn't unlock...

Bought Elder Scrolls Oblivion today because I saw it at Target for $9. I didn't like Marrowind much at all, but Skyrim looks decent and it was for $9, so meh.
Is it very similiar to Marrowind? though I don't think i even remember anything about marrowind,
Target also had Bioshock 2 for $7 lol, but I already own that.

there's a lot of interface and gameplay additions to oblivion that make it a bit easier to manage than morrowind. What didn't you like about morrowind? Oblivion is pretty amazing, tons of open world RPG goodness.

Oblivion is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of playability. You probably didn't like Morrowind because the start of that game is absolute shit, swinging at mobs for 5 minutes and never landing hits like a BOSS. Oblivion doesn't have this problem, so it's a lot easier to jump in to, though it's not as fleshed out of Morrowind in most other regards.

I don't remember lol. 1st and last time I played it was when it was pretty new. I just remember not getting very far at all. My only memory is wandering a town lost until I decided to kill everyone. Then I returned it to Blockbuster.

Picked up Yakuza 3 the other day. Holy fuck does that game get off to an excrutiatingly slow start. Four chapters in and finally it's starting to let off on the orphanage babysitting. Man, when that game is going good, it's really going good. The rest of the time, it's reminding me of NIER with how much of a mixed-grabbag it is in terms of production values. Looks like an HD PS2 title at times. Love the setting/mood of the story though.

Anyone got advice on saving your ass when you're getting string-blocked? Most of my attacks beyond the second one have too much of a cooldown for me to protect myself from a counter-attack. Ended up chugging drinks/food to survive the chapter 3 boss because I could barely land an attack without getting pummeled back.

You need to get to the additional attack after the square combos, 2 Square Triangle is a block breaker and probably the most useful combo in the game. In Kamurocho make sure you get the Komaki skills, the counters are near-game breaking if you can land them with any consistency. Lots of jabs when enemies drop guard or start an interruptable attack help. Make sure you get the useful HEAT actions, like the one that heals you if you're in flashing health, the one that's used after the stunning counter, Revelations etc. It's pretty damn hard at the start. Rikiya destroyed me and I had trouble on CH 3 boss too, but by the end of the game and all of EX Hard you'll find you can beast most of the bosses and enemies with little to no damage taken.

You'll love Yakuza 4, no baby sitting, though still has its slow pace at parts. Much better leveling system in 4, and lot of good minor upgrades. And much easier platinum if you're into that. Easily sunk 80+ hours into both and hoping Yak of the End makes it to the US.

currently playing Clock Tower 3. This game is actually pretty good, not really scary but the chase sequences are really exciting. The story is great too, in a cheesy survival horror kinda way. Fuck I love this genre.

I actually stocked up quite a bit on survival horror games during gamestop's recent b2g2 used ps2 sale. Anyone have any input on which of the following I should play next?:

So I bought the new Ace Combat game. I just seems like it's Ace Combat X but with more super planes and the enemy has the ability to defy physics more then normal.

But alas, I do enjoy these games and I'll try to get all the planes and parts.

Now if only they would release Brigandine and Vanguard Bandits on the PSN. Then I would be a happy man. Other than that I started over from scratch in New Vegas. Honest Hearts is an easy way to level your shit up fast without much risk.

In Oblivion, do I need to worry about accidentally killing semi-important NPCs I randomly meet? Just starting the game and it's kinda stopping me from just sneaking up behind people and killing them. Especially when I hear them talking.

Instead it let me come up with a pretty good explanation as to why I have so many games that I thought this blog was necessary in the first place. I've mostly been playing inFAMOUS instead.

Nocturne is my favorite RPG on the PS2, you should keep playing. A lot of people complain about lack of story, it's because the game doesn't spoon feed it all to you like the latest games in the series (p3/4), but makes you work your damn ass off for it. You really don't start getting the real dirt until you are have plunged deep into the Labyrinth of Amala but man is it worth it. Go for the True Demon Ending, I highly recommend you play it to finish.

Didn't think that game was still active in any form lol, I remember playing it ages ago and having to put in a fake japanese address and everything. Was pretty fun but I picked Earth Forces as my first faction and getting raided constantly by Doms kinda sucked. Nice to know it's on a private server, I'll keep that bookmarked incase the FF11 servers ever go down again.
