I think mythic rares were the moment I finally decided to stop playing the game, because it basically went like:
WOTC: "we're gonna make mythic rares but don't worry, they won't be expensive tournament staples - mostly just big flavor cards"
WOTC: *prints Baneslayer, Elspeth, Jace, etc.*

Playing KH2 again and I'm just gonna come out and say it.
Anyone who says BBS has a better battle system than this game is a headcase. Now, are the enemies too easy for all the tools you have and should reaction commands (for the most part) be removed? Yeah, sure... I'll agree with that but the overall system is just so much better and this game plays way more smooth than BBS does... just wish there was a critical mode on here(if anyone knows of a menu patch for FM+ I'd be down with that too, played it once without menus in the past and I'm not gonna bother with that again) and that the enemy AI was better.

Trying to finish up Assasssins Creed 1. On the last half of block 5 and omg cant even run anywhere w/o alerting the guards. These last 2 informant missions are driving me crazy. Drunks and beggars don't make it any easier. And who thought it would be funny to place the drunks on the pier. I swear if I could kill them I would.

    - Oblivion Mod Manager is a program that helps make sure your mods all work together. Wrye Bash is another program that comes in handy if you are using multiple mods that alter leveled lists (things you find in chests, mostly). I have used OMM and it's easy to figure out (and some mods come specifically in OMM file format). I have never used Wrye Bash but I hear it's helpful.
    - You will want OBSE (oblivion script extender) and OBGE (oblivion graphics extender). I have no idea what OBSE does but it's necessary for a lot of mods, including OBGE. OBGE is fucking awesome and is what makes my game look like a cel-shaded paradise.
    - There are a couple of mods that make massive changes all at once and don't really work together, so it's probably best to pick one of those and then add on whatever you want afterward. For more info, check out: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php...oblivion-mods/, specifically the "The best big overhaul?" thread. Some remain more faithful to the original Oblivion while making the game more challenging, and some just say "fuck it" and change everything under the sun while adding loads of new resources.
    - DO NOT INSTALL OBLIVION TO THE DEFAULT DIRECTORY. Having to give out administrator permission constantly can create problems that range from slightly annoying to completely game-breaking. My game is in the default directory, and it works, but it's a pain. Something like C:/Oblivion would make things simpler.

For the record, I am using:
    - OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul). I like it. Makes the game more challenging but also more fun. From what I understand though, it's the most basic of the major overhaul mods.
    - Unique Landscapes Compilation. Looooove it. 100% recommended. Completely changes landscapes around Cyrodiil and gives each geographic area its own flavor.
    - Xeosp. Changes characters and makes them more JRPG-like. Obviously a matter of taste, but if you like the style, the models are very good. I would have believed they were professionally done if someone told me.
    - Supreme Magicka. Makes magic more useful. Really fun. Adds shit like levitation, teleporting, and a ton of other new spell effects.
    - Oblivion XP. MUST GET. You level up with XP instead of by using skills, and you choose which stats and skills to upgrade each time you level up.

and probably some other stuff I can't think of but it's time for lunch! feel free to PM me with any questions
Saw this today on Kotaku and it immediately made me think of you and your mods Yuri. It looks stunning. Coming out at the end of the year apparently, for free.

I love that people think of me when it comes to Oblivion mods... and for good reason!

that one looks cool. I saw a similar one recently, though it was set entirely outside the Elder Scrolls universe. it's ambitious, but I'm wary of the story and writing - it always seems like these DIY projects are done by brilliant technical minds who can't string togeher a coherent plot or a proper sentence to save their lives. same thing with most fan translations, aside from AGTP/Gideon Zhi's work. I think I've mentioned the Dejap curse on these boards before...

I tried to get into EO3 but I couldn't... but I think a person needs to be in the right mood to plow through an EO game. they're definitely not for casual, relaxed gaming sessions.

    Tiger Woods 12 on PS3
Started up Assassins Creed on 360. Seems kind of clunky but I didn't get far into yet.

Getting ME2 for PS3 today from GF as well. Looking forward to trying it on PS3 but kind of annoyed the comic is considered DLC.

I've always been more of a old school person when it comes to RPGs, so the throwback to those days that comes with EO is mostly why I enjoy it. That said, one definately has to be in the right mood for it, as you said.

You could play the undub version.

Although, this is one game where the Japanese voices actually aren't that much better than the English ones, but at least the skits are voiced.

Also, I'm thinking of playing some of these recent games that everyone like that I never bothered to touch. Any comments on Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, or Mass Effect? Like, if I should start on game 1 for all of those, or if game1 doesn't matter and I can just jump on the more recent ones? Thanks.
Yeah. Like I said.. hit or miss. Certain characters sound better in Japanese. I don't dislike L'arc's english VA, but it fits more in some ways..less nasally? Niko sounds good in both, but his goofy English voice kinda fits him. Ryfia.. I honestly think it's more her delivery of lines and the translation than her voice. I definitely like how Weiss sounds in English as opposed to his Japanese. And yeah, I could play the undub, but I haven't modded the Wii yet, though I should if Xenoblade/Pandora's Tower/Last Story aren't coming here.

Anyway, going to finish that soonish, then probably go to Ys: Oath in Felghana. I put it down because I got it in my head that I could play it on Hard. Yeah. That was emasculating.

Still going through my Mega Man addiction, tried playing Battle Network and rage quitted after 5 minutes. Playing Mega Man X series until I find a Misadventures of Tron Bonne iso that isn't fake.

Nexon decided to "fix" the Dungeon Fighter server. PvE is manageable but the arena is unplayable. I'll wind up dead before the match start or get a black screen and can hear my ass getting kicked. Just my luck when I actually "need" to go into the arena for guild tournaments and more importantly my advancement from Mechanic to Machinist. I want my goddamn Gaebolg Punch:
    Spoiler: show

At least practice mode seems manageable. Enemy AI still leaves something to be desired, but at least I won't get rusty waiting for them to fix the servers. (if they ever decide to)

Few hours into the PS3 version of ME2 and not digging it. The story is there. The graphics and everything are great... but all of the little stuff I loved from ME1 got lost.

It makes sense considering a new gamer to the series would have no idea who Conrad Verner or Helena Blake was. Definitely sticking to the 360 for ME3.

Yeah. Vanquish is fucking awesome. I'm stuck on the 6th Challenge for my Platinum lol. It probably doesn't help that I stop playing after like 2-3 tries and don't try again for like a week. And I haven't watched any videos on it. I can get to like the 4th wave consistently. 5th wave usually fucks my shit up quick, though.

So, speaking of Shinji Mikami; Shadows of the Damned.... Has anybody beaten/played it yet, and is it worth $60? Huge fan of Mikami and Suda.

Playing Operation Darkness on the 360. Once you get past the absolutely atrocious camera controls(I mean come the fuck on the game doesn't even give you the option of inverting the camera for fuck's sake) and get past the what the fuck haircuts the characters have, you have a decent little game. It's entertaining enough to look past the steaming pile of shit that is the camera. And it has the worst British accents in the history of voiceover work. And I'm still enjoying the game.

I played the demo and hated every goddamn second of it, I'm shocked to see you're enjoying it. Almost to the point of trying it out again as it's actually p. similar to Valkyria Chronicles, I thought, but good god the camera just made it feel absolutely unplayable.

Shadows of the Damned is... well, freaking weird like all of Suda 51's projects. It never takes itself too seriously and the plot is more like a satire i.e. makes fun of the same regurgitated "plots." The main character, G., is a badass with plenty of attitude. He's modeled after Elwrey from Planet Terror, or at least I thought. It has plenty of gore, jokes, different weapons, and enough variety to keep you interested; the music is amazing too. That being said, it doesn't have a lot of replay value. Once you beat the game there's no reason to go back, unless you're a trophy whore. The campaign lasts for about 10-12 hours? I'd say it's worth the sixty bux.

Nice. Yeah, I'm a bit of a trophy whore, so that's good. It not having much replay value is fine. A lot times, with games like that, I beat the game and if I liked it enough I'll put it on my shelf and let myself forget about it that way it's almost new when I play it a second time.

Anyways, sounds and looks good. Think I'll buy it sometime this week.
