The one above I hadn't seen before, but there is a lot of fan art for that game already... shocking right?

I've been playing SMT: Nocturne on Hard for a few days now. So far I'm really enjoying it. I'm right after talking to Ginzo-Tennoh, or whatever, for the first time. It's my first time playing this, so is there anything I should really look out for?

Also, I'm curious, when's the earliest that I can recruit Dante, and how long is the game?

good for you, choosing hard mode. that's the only way to go!

game is about 60 hours long, but it can vary quite a lot depending on how many sidequests you do, especially the labyrinth of amala.

dante is near the end of the game, on the 5th kalpa of the labyrinth. you won't be summoning him for a while. I don't know the earliest point you can get him offhand, though.

things to watch out for... aside from overwriting skills (you can't get them back, but I'm sure you've figured that out already) I can't think of much. the game is nice enough to give you the ability to fuse certain bosses even if you take a path that doesn't encounter them, so there isn't too much that's missable. check a guide to be sure though.

Yeah. I pretty much knew how the battle system worked thanks to the Persona series, so I figured I could handle hard.

Good thing I've been collecting those candles then if Dante comes from there.

Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces

I was bored and it has been on my Wii forever but I had never checked it out. It is actually very fun so far, and there seems to be a decent story picking up. XSEED games, so obviously this is a very japanese game, and the Anime style cutscense are great. lolwii and all, but I am enjoying it.

What's different about it? I love Dynasty Warriors too, but you need to skip out on a few iterations. Last I played was 4 I think lol.

The story mode is an actual story mode now. In the older versions, you would choose a character and just be thrown into the battle with pretty much no backstory or a very vague explanation of why you're in that battle. The narrative is pretty engaging and it does a good job explaining everything from the kingdoms perspective. It just flows more naturally than any of the other ones. The only bad thing about story mode is you can't choose your character but it's not really that much of an issue and it makes sense why it forces you into a character. It's pretty long too. Shu story took me about 8 hours to complete. Still got Jin, Wu and Wei to do so that's pretty decent.

The other mode is Conquest mode and it's just free mode renamed. But you unlock characters/improve them mostly through it. Havn't really touched it yet since I wanna finish all the stories first.

Gameplay is pretty much the same. Anyone can equip any weapon now but characters have a specialty in certain weapon which unlocks a special combo move. 2 musuo attacks, you unlock skills on weapons to power your character up. there's a weapon vendor where you buy new shit from. I would definitely check it out if you liked the other ones.

Good to know about DW7. Does it have online Co-op?

And I just finished FF13. Underwhelmed the end.

I'm torn on what to play on my PS3 next. Choice between Eternal Sonata and Finishing Ar Tonelico 3 (..the latter is just.. hard because the game's so boring to me).

PS2 will be finishing Devil Summoner 2 most likely.

Story mode is single player. Conquest has local and online co-op. Conquest is nothing like Free Mode though, it's a huge map with specific stages to play and progress through. Even a lot of character specific ones that have little mini-stories to them (no cutscenes, but unique dialogue and stuff). The stages are fairly generic and lots of them share the same map, but there's lots to get through still. Story mode is really where the game shines above other games in the series.

Sounds like the next time I go by Gamestop (probably to reserve Skyward Sword..and pick up Twilight Princess) I'll have to see how much DW7 is.

Trying very hard not to buy much until I've gone through my backlog more.

On a side note: When I look at my list of PS3 games to play, I'm kind of 'eh'. PSP on the other hand? It's like "WHY ARE THERE NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY?!"

Outland was gewd. Bastion was gr8 (although so short). Dat artstyle & storytelling.

Stretching my student budget a bit with DkS but man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Day 1. And in the meantime... Desktop Dungeons is pretty fun. Makes me want to buy Dungeons of Dredmor, it's only 4,49€ too.

just got Persona 2: Innocent Sin for PSP... pretty excited for that. anyone else picking it up?

also playing P3P, which I am now convinced is the definitive version of Persona 3. FeMC, controlling your party, and not getting tired until after Tartarus all make it so much better. not to mention Persona 4-style square button shortcut for moving between locations. such a time-saver.

playing lots of other PSP shit. Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? is both awesome and infuriating. the reviews really don't do the difficulty justice. it's that hard and more. but it's so fucking adorable d00d.

Mega Man X5 is also on my plate... not sure how I feel about it so far. X4 might retain its place as my personal favorite.

really though, everything I'm playing right now pretty much falls under the heading of "not Skyrim." can't wait until 11/11/11...

Im also getting p2:is but amazon is stupid and it wont get to me until next week. I also think p3p is the definitive version, theres so many improvements that more then make up for the loss of cutscenes. I remember that prinny game, i got stuck on the final boss, the thing i didnt like about the game was i didnt care much for the platforming, the character felt weird to maneuver, other than that it was fun.

As for myself, been playing smt: nocturne alot, hoping to finish it before dark souls comes in about two weeks.

Finally getting around to playing DWG3 soon, just waiting for it to arrive. Until then, I'm just playing White Knight Chronicles 2 and Dead Nation Morbid playthrough. Be glad when 28th gets here, will finally be able to play online again.
