Man, this is going to be a long week because I don't really have a day off (weekend classes, meetings/covering for a colleague on days I'm off) but that just seriously made my week. I was thinking of getting it on PS Vita if it came out there, but..

Is there a good place to snag this game? Or directly through Falcolm? Heard something about them giving it away for free on the translation patch forums..

Most of my shit is in boxes because I'm moving in 2 days but in my free time I've been working on Resident Evil 5 Gold for PS3. It's nowhere near as accurate as RE4 Wii but it's still a lot more precise than a controller, I never got 80%+ accuracy the previous times I've played the games. It's not as good as some of its predecessors but I completely forgot how good RE5 was, aside from Sheva's horrible AI. I had been playing with my BF but he wastes more bullets than the AI controlled Sheva does sooooo... now I'm playing by myself, lol.

I'm not sure what I'll even be able to play next depending on how long it takes to get everything set up in my new apartment. Toys R Us is having a b2g1 sale so I was thinking about buying a Move Nav Controller, Ico/SotC Collection, and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for 80 bucks total but I'm already spending so much money this week it's hard to just pull the trigger.

I saw that Ys Origin patch was released a couple of weeks ago and tried to get it going but it wasn't cooperating. Completely forgot about it since... might have to give it another shot when I'm done with ToD2. Busy raging at this boss in the mean time, total joke until half HP then he goes in to faceroll mode and it's almost impossible to do anything. Don't even have Unknown mode unlocked yet and he still curbstomps me, herp. Strangely I love every minute of him destroying me, I love this game perhaps too much.

You know, you'd think there'd be a lot of overlap between DQM and Pokemon, but it always seems to me that people that like one don't tend to like the other. For all the parallels drawn between them, they're actually pretty different games.

I'm a fan of both, but truth be told I'd side with DQM over Pokemon any day.

I liked it more before the mech dudes started to talk. they seemed so creepy and inhuman, and taking that away from them knocked their horror factor down a notch. I've only met the one so far but oh my dear god is his dialogue and VA cheesy. it's like "LOOK HOW EVIL AND MEAN I AM! I AM SO EVIL AND MEAN! GRRRR AHAHAHA I AM A VILLAIN!"

but hey, it is what it is. finally starting to figure out some of the more complicated gameplay mechanisms, too - I don't think I even made a single trade until the refugee camp, but now I couldn't live without it (especially trading for those god-forsaken rare collectible quest items).

finally picked P3P back up to finish it. fusing the ultimate weapon personas had scared me off for a good couple weeks. it was a pain - probably 10 fusions each, and over 9,999,999 yen, but it's worth it.

oh and when I wasn't in the mood for those, I somehow found the time this weekend to beat Symphony of the Night again with two Heaven's Swords, a Crissaegrim, two Varda's Rings, etc. always fun.

I always just use Shield Rod + Alucard Shield when I want a super broken Alucard. Never ended up getting any of the other cool stuff, lol.

it's more about the challenge of getting the rare and/or awesome items than it is about their usefulness... otherwise I'd never use anything other than Crissaegrim since it decimates everything as soon as you get it. the downside, of course, is that now I have all the rare and/or awesome items I could possibly want... not much more to do, lol

and yes @ Nocturne hard. funny story, I played it on normal at first, got to Ikeb... Ibek... the prison area. lots of enemies in there were using lightning, most of my team was weak to lightning, and I was still mowing down everything in my path. at that point I was like "what is the fucking purpose of this incredibly deep battle system along with the myriad demons available [not to mention the grinding it takes to make them perfect] if I can get hit with my weakness all day long and not even bat an eye?" so I restarted, about 20 hours in, on hard mode. never regretted it, even with the progress I lost.

Innocent sin is fun as hell at the moment, but by the time I get through that and Eternal Punishment (maybe might wait for a psp re-release if it gets announced anytime soon) I doubt I'll still be in a mood for these kinds of games for a while, lol.

maybe challenge isn't quite right, but "OCDness" isn't a word so it'll have to do

hell, a lot of Castlevania is about OCD these days. especially in the Souls series - Aria was bad enough, but anyone who maxed out all souls in Dawn along with all special weapons deserves to either receive a medal or be institutionalized... maybe both.

edit: as long as I'm posting in this thread... currently playing Tales of Destiny and WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SEND ME TO A DUNGEON WHERE ENEMIES USE ATTACKS THAT INFLICT PARALYZE BEFORE THE STORES SELL MEDICINE THAT CURE IT AND ABOUT TEN LEVELS BEFORE RUTEE LEARNS TO HEAL IT?! fucking sick bastards. and no, it doesn't wear off after the battle's over. as far as I can tell, your only options in surviving this dungeon are a) never get hit with paralyze (good luck) or b) run away from that enemy every time you see one.
