Thoughts on the Last Remnant? I'm debating picking up a copy for PC (since I hear that's the better version). Of course, I probably need to buy one of those PC-out cables to my TV so I can enjoy the game in GLORIOUS HD.
^ yeah.
Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage, in one word, FUCK RAOH.
Platinum'd SotC finally(fucking Hard Time Attack Colossus #3). Still a lot of time till MGS HD collection, so I pushed MGS1 back to platinum Vanquish. All I had left is Challange 6 and holy shit it's kicking my ass at around wave 3-4. It probably doesn't help that I'm coming back to that after not playing it for 5 months. Anybody got any tips for those particular waves.
I'm reaaaaally not looking forward to doing challenge 6 whenever the fuck I get back to working on Vanquish trophies. Will take me awhile since I have to do a second entire playthrough for those bloody golden statue things that are nearly impossible to find without a guide.
As for my gaming habits. Ended up spending some time with Mafia 2. I beat it, and finished everything aside from the 159 wanted posters, which I'll probably do some other day. I'm stuck with mixed feelings overall on the game, both in the story, and the handling of the city, so I'm hoping the DLC this disc included will breathe some extra life into both aspects.
I will say though, Joe is one hell of a bro as far as sidekicks in video games goes. Not often I play a game with an AI partner that also knows how to bloody aim with a gun and pick off a good 1/3rd of the targets for me.
[EDIT] I just regret having taken a peek at the DLC trophies a minute ago....., a couple of them are fucking sadistic, way worse than anything from the core game.
Short main game (for a comparison, maybe only 1-1.5 hours worth of cutscenes throughout the main game. About 10 hour main quest) but lots of side quests.
Game lasts 40-60 hours if you do all the sidequests and collect all the stuff. Can get grindy later on (also don't grind until you have 15+ characters. In fact try to avoid monster encounters as much as you can till you have 15 characters at least so they can all gain stat increases at the same time).
If a character asks whether to learn an ability or not, "always say yes" because unlike the 360 version, you can always turn off/on abilities for characters if you don't want them to use it (FF13 should have had that feature too since they were lazy and didn't implement gambits >.>).
Use walkthrough or else you'll miss stuff probably.

Also make sure to do all quests and recruit unique leaders from guilds as soon as their available (well at least don't bother with Soldiers in the PC versions, always use leaders since they're better in terms of stats).
If you want to do everything following a guide is a must. Very strict requirements on some of that stuff. But it pays off IMO, Absolute Conqueror is a bad-ass final boss.
Some fights in that game were sooo intimidating at first, the monsters really seem like they can break your neck and shit down your throat if you're not careful. I remember fighting a dragon in that endgame-ish area, thought I had no chance at my BR at the time, still pulled it off although every turn was a close call.
Thanks for the input! I ordered it off Amazon along with Disgaea 4 and Disgaea 2 portable (Christmas gift for a friend).
Been playing Tactics Ogre in the meantime and.. wow. Awesome game is awesome.
Reminds me of Katamari Forever. I have all trophies except one, which is to 100% collect everything in the game.
Well, I'm 99.999% done that, except for collecting the illusive Cowbear, which I gave up on after 50+ attempts. Fuck that stage.
Anyone played Sequence? How does it control on a pad?
Will be playing Uncharted 3 soon enough. Playing right now: nada. Catching up on DVR.
I actually really enjoyed Last Remnant. I thought the plot was decent enough. Main character can be a bit grating. There's enough side missions to keep you occupied for a long time. The huge downside is I would literally fall asleep while playing the game at night. Battles essentially fight themselves. You have no choosing what actions your unions will take. It's just default headers like attack, hang back and heal, magic attack, or in certain cases special attacks. You don't get to select what spell to use or what weaponskill to use. But therein lies the difficulty. You could piss away 45 minutes fighting something because you fucked up 1 round. It can be unforgiving but it is fun.Thoughts on the Last Remnant? Sorry, I just have too when LR talks occur.
Fuck this thing no matter the situation.
Did someone say THE LAST REMNANT MUSIC TIME? I think I heard someone say THE LAST REMNANT MUSIC TIME!
And yes, I really enjoyed the PC version of TLR. I hear it is far better than the 360 version due to having much more customization/less randomness in raising your team members and controlling your units' actions in battle.
I never did get to touch the console ver. though.
One thing that bugged the heck out of me with that game was the fact that many of the animations (usually in the real-time cutscenes and such) were quite awkward. Many characters' walk animations were very funny and other various ones were too. Minor gripe but it stood out enough to become annoying.
I originally had the 360 version and it was complete ass. You had to install it or the game would run at TERRIBLE framerate and all other sorts of shit. You know those seven generals you can fight one at a time on the pc version? Yeah, good luck with that, on the 360 because you have to fight them all in one sitting.
