    Really? I don't remember that.

Then again, I don't remember whether I played through it in one sitting or not either. I do think that I had saved though, then had to redo 5/6 fights because I missed a quest with stupid prereqs. Twice through it and I wouldn't notice that? Well, anything is possible I guess.

Sequence is fantastic, the dialogue can be a hit or miss (mostly miss) but the gameplay is great and the music too. Should last me for 10+ hours, not bad for 3,99€.

My biggest gripe with the PC version is the fact that so much shit is straight up missable. I like messing around and doing things on my own for the first half or so of the game when I play RPGs, so when I started picking up guides around the time I hit Undelwalt I realized I had completely missed killing The Fallen and will never be able to access The Ancient Ruins or upgrade any of the ultimate weapons. Some shit, right?

I'm still trying to figure out if there's some way to break the game so that it'll give me access >.> I don't like replaying RPGs over and over if I can avoid it. I prefer just doing everything in one really long playthrough.

one nice side effect of getting into Xenoblade? I now have Dolphin up and running. figured I'd make use of that and try out some of the Wii games I've missed out on. giving Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby: Return to Dreamland a try and they're pretty fun. the new uber-powers in RtD are pretty fun to mess around with; they remind me of the giant shroom from New Super Mario Bros. oh and the water power is fucking awesome; totally my favorite of the new copy abilities.

also, there are no words in the English language that adequately describe the cuteness level of Kirby's Epic Yarn. NONE.

Close to beating Mass Effect 1. Although I'm a few years late in picking it up, it has been pretty darn impressive. Solid game play and story line make me a happy camper.

Finally popped in Resistance 3 for the first time for some family game night. Coop with the girlfriend, and it doesn't support Move in split screen.

Game is really hard on "Difficult mode." The only real saving grace is that reviving your partner gives you half health. Other than that, the game is awesome. I love that weapons upgrade as you continue to use them.

    Fuck you, Challenge 6.

Vanquish platinum is mine. Definitely the most valuable platinum I've gotten. Next being ToVesperia's just cause of the time it took(somewhere around 180ish hours.)

Can vouch for this, gaming existence is no longer the same after it.

No game that has come out since has held a candle to ME2 for me.

I guess that means I should pick up ME2 next instead of digging into the rest of my back log of games. Poor PSP will have to wait a little longer.

apparently there is a bug in the older Tales games when converted from PSX to PSP that causes them to randomly lock up when casting spells that freeze the screen (e.g. the higher-level ones).

well, fuck. either I give up now or never use anything above Fireball again.

guess this is god's way of telling me to play the PSP version of Eternia.

PSP has Eternia and Destiny 2, the only 2 Tales games you need.

Is this how everyone feels about ME1 vs 2? I still haven't finished 2. Definitely a great game but I wasn't too keen on some of the changes to combat (pc), and the completely nuked equipment options. I guess planet scanning was 'lol' too - though that implies 1 had a better option.

ME2 takes a little getting used to, especially if you're attached to some of the RPG elements from the first game that got trimmed out of the sequel. I think most people would find this an unforgivable sin if combat didn't feel so smooth and fun-- the devs did a great job turning it into a cover-based power shooter that still feels like a Mass Effect game. It's a small gripe but I miss some of the exploration parts of the first game and the feeling that gave you, but the story (and the cliffhanger at the end!) more than makes up for any complaints I could have.

I just beat Shadows of the Damned. I will say that if you're a fan of Suda 51, Shinji Mikami, and Akira Yamaoka you will definitely love this game, since it feels like a real collaboration between all of them. My only real complaint is that it was too short and doesn't have a level select, but if you can find it for 20 or less you should buy it.

I have a few games coming in the mail, namely Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and Ico/SotC Collection. That means that next up will probably be Shadow of the Colossus or Splatterhouse for 360, with some Dark Meadow for ipad thrown in there.

Hearing Yuri talk about Xenoblade is making me really want to play it but I know in the next few weeks I'll probably pick up Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Batman AC, or AC Revelations (or some combination thereof) and I don't really want a 100+ hour game hanging over my head when I go to start another 100+ hour game like Skyrim... so I guess it'll have to wait.

Bah, it's too early in the morning and I just lost a huge post on this. For the most part I agree with this though.

I loved that the Mako was cut out of ME2. The exploration got redundant after a few planets and the collection aspects didn't really accomplish anything except closing a random assignment to try to squeeze out Liara's companion achievement. The fact that every 'dungeon' map was the same didn't help, but I enjoyed having the maps in ME1. The guide arrow in 2 had its uses but the in-city maps were fucking useless.

I liked the gear collection in 1, but I found I didn't miss it in 2. Specifically I didn't miss dumping my gear between missions just so I could finish the next one and not miss any pickups.

While the frame story in ME2 was amazing (especially all the variables and character choices at the end), I didn't feel like it flowed as well as the story in ME1. The companion aspect in ME1 was much more organic. You just grabbed them and went on your way. Whereas with ME2, you had to go out of your way for everyone. It just seemed odd to stop in the middle of saving the universe so you could deal with someone's "daddy issues". When I think about it, "daddy issues" sums up almost every loyalty quest pretty well.

Overall, ME2 is a more streamlined experience. They scaled back on a lot of things from ME1 but at the same time it feels like a more complete experience.

Both games are amazing. It's easily one of my favorite franchises of all time.

I'm delaying my gratitude with ME2. It's sitting there, waiting for me to play it. Still trudging through Devil Summoner 2 though, which I am starting to enjoy more.

Atre you whore, hop on AIM or something sometime so you can tell me to buy more games I really should hold off on so I don't get backlogged.

Speaking of which, I finished a post on a game I finished uh.. awhile ago. Yeah, backlogged on my backlog blog posts. Here, if anyone cares to read: http://backloggers.blogspot.com/2011...s-oath-in.html

I liked the Mako sections (yeah yeah) and I miss the weapon mods, but overall 2 just feels like a much better game. The mod thing is made up for a little in the fact that every weapon isn't just functionally identical before modding them. I still miss using a shotgun that overheats in a single shot but sends people fucking flying away though, God damn that was fun on Adept. Also planet scanning makes me want to tear my dick off. I hope that shit is dead and buried in 3.
