The game doesn't tell you anything wrong... people are just stupid and don't look at where the damn quest marker tells you to go. It points you to the EXACT spot you gotta start fishing, but every mother fucker just goes to the wrong beach and gets stumped.

I will admit missing the red x was a derp moment, but the game instructions do say to press X. Whereas online instructions tell you to hold down on the joystick and angle a bit to the left or right based on your char's movement without pressing X. The game also doesn't give you a clear picture of how to tell when you have a fish on the line. It's just poor design if every motherfucker comes off as stupid for not understanding it; missing the red x withstanding.

I dunno, I got it straight away with the in game instructions (red X withstanding, but it was obvious I was doing something wrong when every fish broke off instantly so I realized the mistake after a few minutes). I guess FFXI helped given it's the same crappy minigame in that.

I only did the one quest for fishing and didn't touch it again.


Also protip: when you have access to 2hand sword, just jump and attack and jump/dodge roll away repeatedly to kill shit quickly. Saved me time wiffing the damn thing around.

Just finished the main mission line in Saints Row 3, don't really have any drive to play it anymore.. Pretty much done with Skyrim, have a few quests here or there. What should I play next? Options are: The Last Remnant, Two Worlds II, Assassin's Creed, WindWaker/TwilightPrincess. Recommendations are lovely, PC onry, don't have a current gen console.

Another TLR discussion, which means time to post these:

Don't grind until you have 15+ characters. In fact try to avoid monster encounters as much as you can till you have 15 characters at least so they can all gain stat increases at the same time.

If a character asks whether to learn an ability or not, "always say yes" because unlike the 360 version, you can always turn off/on abilities for characters if you don't want them to use it (FF13 should have had that feature too since they were lazy and didn't implement gambits >.>).

Use walkthrough or else you'll miss stuff probably.

(Simple) Walkthrough (The walkthrough doesn't detail every chest or so but it does point out every missable at least.)

Also there will be a quest where you have to agree with either Roberto or Ophelia. Agree with Roberto (if you don't you'll miss out on him as a character).

Speaking of that you may just want to make an extra save once every 3-5 hours of playing (use the 50 save slots!) in case you do end up missing something accidentally (should do this for every RPG in general IMO if you have extra space).

Also make sure to do all quests and recruit unique leaders from guilds as soon as their available (well at least don't bother with Soldiers in the PC versions, always use leaders since they're better in terms of stats).

Been playing the 3DS port of Ocarina of Time, got to say not too fond of it.

The biggest gripe is for me is why I can't use the D-Pad as a shortcut for touch screen only items (Ocarina, First Person/Navi, Item/Equipment menus, etc). Did the guy who playtest this have 3 arms or something?

Finally started Skyward Sword yesterday. I was addicted to Black Ops online for a bit(borrowing it from a friend and hadn't played it online prior). Lol.

I'm only an hour in, but so far I like all the changes. I love the fact that you can run now. It makes me think of LttP. Also, they actually made me care about Zelda in this one. All the other ones I was just like "yeah, she's captured/gone. Who gives a fuck. Give me dungeons/puzzles."

I want to finish it, but I'm still epicly pissed that I completely missed killing the Fallen and thus can't access the ancient ruins, which drops all the shit to upgrade weapons to their ultimate stages. I'm stuck in a rut between completing my playthrough with subpar weapons and ditching the 60+ hours I've grinded through in it to start over and actually kill the Fallen and all that other missable stuff right now.

I hate playing games via walkthroughs from the very beginning, but god damn does TLR punish you if you don't.

I played via walkthrough from the beginning and still had to restart from an earlier save twice. The game has ridiculous prerequirements to get access to fight the absolute emperor.

Not to mention the game fools you with the way leveling works imo. Aside from those issues it was a blast to play, even on xbobx. Oh yeah and the ultimate skills make the later encounters too easy imo.

Yeah, the leveling system was really counter-intuitive. Leveling up is "Bad", and if you grind out materials for better gear and guild completions you'll find yourself leveling up too quickly more often than not. I feel like playing the game "Correctly" is way more ridiculous than it should be, and playing the game "Incorrectly" means you're locked out of practically anything that's any good.
