Played Hexyz Force yet? It isn't a long game but for a turn-based JRPG it has all the right stuff imo. That's one game you could pop on the PSP.
(and if you do play it, try to find a cheat to unlock hard mode from the start)

Seconding Hexyz Force even though I never actually finished it. Great game, as is Crimson Gem Saga if you haven't checked that out yet.
As for myself, Lord of Apocalypse just came out in moonland so I just started playing that. Holy shit it's so much better than Arcana so far, made improvements all around. Hope they localize it so I can convince more people to play it. Hope MH and God Eater take note of some of the improvements they made here, because it does a lot of little things well now.
Forgot about the sequel of Arcana, gonna dl it today then.
Yes they did bring LOA overseas.
Sold like ass though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't localize Apocalypse. But at the same time it sold pretty poorly in Japan, so who knows.
Front Mission 5: Scars of War w/ english translation patch:
This is seriously a Front Mission fan's wet dream. Everything is ridiculously polished, improved and refined from past titles, nothing left untouched up. The story even has a cinematic feel to it unlike any other game in the series. I can't get over how fucking fast, fun, and explosive the combat is either, it makes me wish this was brought over for the online mode. Highly recommend any FM fan that hasn't, play this ASAP. I can already tell the difficulty won't be much of a pushover, I hear this can get harder than some of the most frustrating missions in FM1.
Is this a complete english patch? If yes, then that's awesome![]()
hell yes!

For those interested.
Whaaaaaaaat? Front Mission 5 with English patch?!! I'm on this like a fat kid on a cupcake!!!!!
Hito, do I need a JP PS2 to play this if I install the patch? Or is it playable on an NA PS2?
You need a machine that's able to play copied games with either a mod chip or a boot disc. You could always use an emulator but that's a crap shoot and I'm not sure how far PS2 emulation has come along.
Ah. Then that's not going to work for me![]()
Is a regular NA PS2 what you have? because you can get free mcboot on a memory card and go to town on this shit.
Go on.....
Yeah, regular old style PS2, not the slim version.
let me try to find the forum I got mine at, forum users will generally do it for free and what it entails is having them install something called free mcboot on your ps2 memory card that opens you up to being able to run homebrew and burned discs. I'll edit this when I find it!
edit: here we go: http://freemcboot.info/
volunteer installs @ http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/%5B...mcb-you-58851/
I think they generally say that the saves on your card aren't guaranteed to be saved since a certain amount of space gets used for the install, but I ended up buying one pre-installed for $15 from one of the installers.
Yeah sorry to say but you would probably need swap magic. I'm playing with PCSX2 emulator one of the latest versions and aside from some minor graphical errors that pop up every now and then, it doesn't really ruin the gameplay because it's so damn fun/fast.
If you wish, I can upload said version of PCSX2, but not sure where to find a torrent for FM5 aside from blackcats, I lucked out there. snesorama link on google is down but maybe someone uploaded another.
I was thinking of playing the Sims 2 again. I want to buy it through Origin but does anyone know if stuff in Origin have the original games' DRM still (or does Origin function as copy protection itself like Steam which means there's no more DRM like Securom)?
It's not a big deal for Sims 2 to Pets but I heard after Pets+ they use a much more intrusive/bad version of Securom.
Anyway I want to play the Sims 2 because I still have mods and all the stuff on my computer actually. Favorite thing in the Sims 2 is Open For Business expansion pack - You can have robots do everything which is always fun to watch (and with a mod it can be set to break much less often).
PS2 emulator has come along really well. The latest release (well one of the alpha builds now support three cores through a speed hack setting).
Click.
Speaking of that - It's good to have an untouched (besides maybe settings) copy of PCSX2 (just copy the entire folder) somewhere after you downloaded it. Not sure about others but I occasionally encountered weird sound problems while playing FFXII which fortunately could be fixed by just using a fresh PCSX2.
In general if you have problems with the emulator that weren't there before, maybe using a fresh one may fix the problem (though I only encountered the problem for FFXII, so I'm not sure about other games).
Trying to decide between Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Star Ocean: Last Hope for my next game. SO looks a little dated, LO's battle system is very retro.
Any suggestions for the best gaming experience? Which has the more mature story/votes for best story between the three?
