Finally getting around to beat P4, I'm on the homestretch.
Finally getting around to beat P4, I'm on the homestretch.
Enemies in Ch11+ tend to be pretty tricky. By 12+ if you're not overleveled you can expect a fair bit of challenge, especially from the nastier mobs. So don't worry, it does just get a lot harder. I strongly recommend avoiding the ... I forget what it's called, but it's a palette swap of the boss you fight with Hope/Lightning early on. Very difficult for when you're just passing through there in my experience. Everything else besides big turtles is more or less killable - whether it's worth the effort to do so is up to you...
yeah, the last chapter is insane unless you ARE over-leveled. there are some "mini-bosses" - the giant with the sword, especially - that are practically harder than the last boss.
I'm probably needing to grind a bit, got to the point where a mob in my way will one-shots my party no problem with its magic attack.
The main characters I use (Lightning/Sazh/Vanille) have all of their primary job abilities and roles maxed, but got about 20-25 stat orbs missing per person.
By any chance is that the big mechanical four-legged....thing, that summons at sword as its first attack? I died to it multiple times already, and since I need to beat it to hit a portal behind it to continue my progress, I figured I'd backtrack to Gran Pulse and farm some CP, as well as clearing up any missions I missed on the way as I only finished 14 of them ages ago.
I also need to figure out wtf I need to do to trigger the mission that lets me get that Growth Egg thing for double-CP, as well as googling up which stones to avoid that mucks about with one of the turtle camps.
I really wish there was a faster means of transportation in Gran Pulse, whether it be summoning a chocobo at will, or being able to port to any completed mission stone, rather than a select few. I'm surprised the mobs here still give a relative amount of CP. After hitting ch13 I was expecting them to give jack shit, but these 10-20s fights give enough CP to be worth the bother.
[EDIT] Well, got the growth egg, that was a pain in the ass.
Borderlands - Beat Mad Moxxi's Underdome DLC in Borderlands this weekend. Hoping to do Dr. Ned's Zombie DLC tonight.
TWEWY - Tried playing the game after a 2 year break. Had trouble with the final bosses on Easy with my level nearly capped. Planning on restarting soon.
Finished FF6 (still need to 99 everyone/learn all spells on everyone/get all rages/I think I also need to get all lores, but I 100%'d my bestiary, which was my main goal! So I'm happy)
Almost done with FF5. In the final dungeon, right before final boss. Still need to max out all jobs, and do the bonus dungeon as well. I guess 100% bestiary. 100% treasure completion... uh, doubt that's happening, lol. Also trying to get at least 1 of every item (minus brave blade, for obvious reasons... so I might not actually bother with that, idk, shouldn't be difficult, since I've been making sure to get all the rare steals and drops possible)
Also started playing Valkyrie Profile. I actually never beat this game, and the one time I tried, I just kinda rushed through it (idk why), and got stuck/bored in lezard's tower or w/e and gave up. (I was young) But yeah, this game is awesome as fuck. Just started chapter 3, enjoying the shit out of it.
If you ain't playing on hard (its actually easy mode if you play it right) you ain't playin' VP.
Also...
swag
Spoiler: show
I jjust remembered that I bought the Prinny games on psn so I decided to play those again and boy I forgot how fun they were
I am playing on hard.
And I love the music. :D
Derp
Also, I've never gotten the A ending in Valkryie Profile... almost makes me want to play it again. Almost.
And I still haven't played VP2.
spending a lot of time with Might and Magic IV/V World of Xeen
also finishing up the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim (pretty good story; better than Oblivion for sure)
and on the go I've settled on Etrian Odyssey III. starting over because I realized that a "cool" party with ninjas and pirates in a game like Etrian Odyssey would make things way too difficult. and I've decided to rename my guild Pleiades and name each of my party members after one of the stars in the cluster. it's sorta awesome - they're all really pretty greek names like Merope and Alcyone - but it's also, well, the nerdiest fucking thing ever.
borderlands again. looking for people to play with online!
lezard's tower makes my head hurt, no wonder I quit here all those years ago
Playing XIII-2. Definitely loving the hands off approach they took with it.
Recently got my hands on a copy of Brigandine for PS1 AND Dragonforce for the Sega Saturn. I'm going to be a busy boy.
nice. Dragonforce is definitely one of those near-mythical RPGs that every nerd I knew creamed his pants over back in the day. I think it got GOTY in EGM at one point. hope it's as awesome as the hype.
I used to have Dragon Force.
Then I found out my douche of a friend who I loaned it to way back in the day lied about losing it. The reality was that his brother or someone else we knew broke my disc. Good thing I beat it with everyone, I guess. Should go snag the PS2 version.
His brother later committed suicide too. Unrelated.
..Now I wanna play Dragon Force 2
