My co-op partner and I put way more than 20 hours into it, but I think that's a fair estimation to how much you would have to play for the platinum, at least.
Panties and pizza will probably be the worst part of platinuming that tbh.

Currently playing L.A. Noire now, Great game. However it begins to feel repetitive after a bit and that facial-recognition technology tends to fuck me over from time to time in the interviews. I'll probably end up getting the DLC when they're bundled or something.

Super Street Fighter II HD just went free for Playstation Plus tonight. If you want to punish an army of shotos, the next few days are looking good.

Depending on how thorough you are, Bioshock can be burned through in a couple days. Even if you dig up every power and collectible though it doesn't really extend the game too much.

I really should get back to Devil Survivor. Put about 5hrs in, then something else came up. All I recall was that the game didn't fuck around on the difficulty.

Speaking of games with a little difficulty, I took a break from grinding in FFXIII to go grind in......7th Saga. My SNES has seen better days though, but hey! My saves from over a decade ago were still intact. I got a particular grudge with this game, going to try and finish the job this time around.

Tried doing more Trauma Team on Expert difficulty. All I can say is Hank's first mission in Patient Zero is annoying. I hate chipping away bone tumors.

7th saga. ugh. I've actually played it through to just barely shy of the end twice, once with the demon char and once with the elf looking mage girl. God what a crap fest. Last time was probably like 10 years ago and I'm still annoyed by it, heh.

Ah, memories... 7th Saga always reminded me of a MMO prototype that was way before it's time. Still a bitch and a half to beat, especially if you play as the demon guy late in the game.

Forgot how overpowered Ryu/Ken were in SFII. I wanted to bust their heads in with Guile, but I'm way too out of practice and had to stick with Zangeif or Blanka to handle the endless Hadoken barrage. Strange thing is, I haven't plaid against anyone who doesn't use Ryu/Ken.

2/3 done with my second play through as Roland on Borderlands. Going to make my berserker build for brick to prove a point to my friend afterwards.

7th Saga is a great game. The issue is that when they made the american release, they fucked all kinds of shit up, including scaling issues which makes it so your character is always going to be weaker than the other characters you're against. I beat the game for the first time about a year ago using a patched version on an emulator. Satisfaction and part of my childhood closed happily.

Also, playing Disgaea 3 and Mass Effect 2. I'm a bit behind it would seem on some of my games lol.

It had some interesting ideas with the multiple characters all seeking the same goal, but they didn't really run with it aside from a couple events in the game that were randomly predetermined. Every other instance with them could be avoided after you already found a partner to travel with.

Glad to hear I'm stuck playing the fucked version. ;/

Just *barely* beat one of the other starting NPCs to get a rune he stole from behind a fucking dragon I had to kill, where I had to spend 8min warping from town to town to track his ass down. Majority of the fight was me spamming potions until I had an opening to attack, jeez.

The game is so unforgiving, is not unexpected to get raped from a single mob encounter at the appropriate level range. At least I'm getting enough gold from kills now to easily cover resurrecting my characters. Kinda annoyed that the game lost its sense of direction after I got passed the point I was stuck at years ago, you only get little hints from one NPC per town, and then it's up to you to explore your map of unmarked locations and hope you don't get assraped by a random encounter looking for a town/cave/etc.

stop talking about 7th saga, now I want to give it another go. Bring the pain ; ; I remember getting your runes stolen was SOOOO annoying. I seem to remember when playing the elf mage girl FINALLY getting the mp recovery rune and thinking I was going to finally be able to kill shit and then it gets stolen immediately and I raged.

I always saved prior to attempting to talk to anyone I meet. Seems most of my battles consist of me using star rune to double my defense every battle because fuck the amount of damage the mobs can deal if I just spam fight for the win. Need to take it slow and then recover as much HP/MP with your runes when it's just one mob left on his last legs to make it through some of the dungeons, courtesy of only being to hold 9 of each item in the game.

That's assuming I don't come across one of those cunt zombie looking mobs that use an ice spell that takes 90% of my HP.

Figured out my next destination at any rate, shame there's an optional tower along the way that I have to go through because I'm an OCD asshole and that the game makes it easy to determine where chests are located.

Also will say that it's weird seeing an SNES game running off SNES hardware. So used to the razor sharp pixels off an emulator, that I forgot the AV Cable was really bad as far as image quality went. Even off my LCD TV it's all blurred and having inconsistant colours.

I feel like I want to pick up 7th Saga this weekend for a challenge, but I also feel like that's a terribad idea lol... maybe I'll try it with the patch.

also still playing Etrian Odyssey III. yeah I said I was giving up. yeah I lied. and yeah my whole day at work today is going to pretty much consist of killing the same giant penguin with a fantastic XP/effort ratio over and over (and over and over and over).

I was playing Skyrim for a while and then I switched to Soul Caliber V.

I have become a bit obsessed with the character creation mode in SCV, and have been making one character after another-- most of which are my own characters based off of stories I've been writing. I've also been enjoying the quick battle mode where I can earn titles. I find titles I absolutely want and work my ass off to have them. THEY SHALL ALL BE MINE SOME DAY!! ... Unless I get bored of the game. Then, probably not.

Now, assuming you are not ENTIRELY referring to video games...

I have also been playing D&D 4.0 which is decidedly simplified/dumbed down versus 3.5, but it's still been fun.

I have also gotten into Vampire the Requiem, whose dice system I am really into. I also like how it gets deeper into the dramatics of story telling versus my D&D experiences. Mostly all the back stabbing and manipulating going on between the characters in the group. I have to say one of the best moments I've had recently in VtR was when I used two pistols to shoot a nosferatu party member in the head point blank several times. He didn't die, but he now has a brand new deeply rooted fear of pistols. :D All I have to do is waggle a pistol in his face and he has to run off screaming like a little girl. Teehee.

That sums up my games for the time being.

If the patch makes it so you can XP and farm gold at the same time (they're mutually exclusive since decent XP mobs have a good chance of wiping you and making you lose 50% of your current gold) I'd say go for it.

I ended up giving up on the Wii nunchuk issue and just bought a 3rd-party one for $15. Coincidentally I like the feel of it more than the official ones, and it handles virtually identical which is a plus. I've owned too many third-party controllers in the past where they felt good in the hands, but the analog sticks had either a fucked up deadzone, or had a different gradation as you tilt the stick towards the edge. Granted that was only noticeable in FPS games for the most part, which I hardly played on my PS2/GCN of last gen, so it wasn't a real issue.

Actually made some headway in Zelda:SS for once now that it's playable again........until the remote batteries died. Had a bit of a fourth-wall moment where what's-her-name popped up to warn me about the battery being low.

Also went and picked up Shadows of the Damned, EDF, and Yakuza 4 for $20 each when I grabbed the new nunchuk. Fucking Walmart bargain bins are evil, and that's 5 unopened games now sitting in my collection since I already have 3 other games on my mind to finish first.
(7th Saga, FFXIII platinum, and Skyward Sword).

from what I read it just makes everything easier, like the JP version. player stats go up more, enemy stats aren't so high, and your rivals no longer level at ten times the rate you do. I'll check it out sometime, maybe on my PSP.

currently playing: Etrian Odyssey III (still) and Soma Bringer. EO3 is addicting but I'm at the endgame now, which is one hell of a grindfest. fighting the same half-hour boss battle over and over again is kinda fun... but kinda not, especially when you make one mistake halfway through the fight and have to start over.

so I got out Soma Bringer if I don't feel like mindless EO3 grinding. yeah, Soma Bringer is mindless grinding too, but it's grinding of a far more leisurely and rewarding variety. plus I never beat it before, got all the way to the end with a Soma but lost my DS. starting over this time with a Corps (I think? it's the Paladin-type class).

So, I was thinking about picking up Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, but I was curious what you guys think of it? Is it worth getting?
