It's like Worms... on crack!
It's like Worms... on crack!
Liero was Worms on crack.
So bought P3 FES few days ago on PS store, will probably be starting it up sometime next week.
Now my question is, for someone who has never played Persona, how hard would hard mode be right from the beginning? I remember hearing a couple of times that Persona series is indeed pretty challenging on harder modes. I'm just curious how much harder will it be for someone who has never played any of them before?
P3 hard mode increses enemy damage by 1.5 and quadruples the cost of using the compendium. IMO it's not so much harder as more punishing of inefficiency and not playing along with enemy gimmicks. It's really at its worst at the start, doubly so if you have no idea how to make proper use of the fusion system.
if you've never played a Persona game before, I wouldn't recommend it. there are bosses in that game that are murder even on normal mode, even with good strategies - if and if you haven't been playing "correctly," they're going to be damn near impossible on hard mode. keep in mind this is coming from someone who played SMT: Nocturne on hard mode my first time through and loved it, and that game is a bitch and a half.
it's up to you, though. just keep in mind that with a timeline-based game like Persona, it's a lot more difficult to recover from mistakes - you can't always just go back and grind some more.
Guess I'll try out on Normal my first time through then then do Hard on a 2nd playthrough or something once I'm more familiar with the game. At least I can still expect some challenge out of normal mode still.
Taking a break from Tales of Graces f now that I'm done with the main arc. I feel like I've been playing it forever. Lol.
Anyway, I got a bit of a backlog and I wanna beat a few of them before I go back to platinum Tales. Not sure what to play, though.
Bioshock(definitely doing this first)
L.A. Noire
Shadows of the Damned
Dead Space 2
Castlevania Lords of Shadow
Xenoblade
Zelda Skyward Sword(beat the first dungeon back when it came out, but then I got Batman AA/AC. Lol)
Devil May Cry HD Collection(I'm gonna wait on this one since I'm gonna want to platinum it my first time through)
I've kinda wanted to mess with Shadows of the Damned, I never hear good things but it looks cool as shit.
A friend of mine just picked it up pretty cheap from Gamefly. He loves it. I am going to borrow it after he plays through it a second time, I will let ya know. =P
Playing Ragnarok Odyssey on PSV :3 So far, not bad. Simple, but has some depth, can play it even though it's in JP.
Gamefly'd Silent Hill HD collection. Don't know why I thought it came with the first game. 4 Would've been nice too. Oh, also back on Aion. Israphel server.
Got Legend of Grimrock offa steam for 15 bucks. It's a pretty sweet game. puzzles are driving me bonkers in it. rragghh. addicting as hell though
fuckin a, Tales of the Abyss...
Spoiler: show
has me frustrated. both would be a decent boss on their own, together they're ridiculous. their damage output is enough to get me into the red within the first 10 seconds, no joke. and I'm not underleveled, not at all.
sigh. guess I'll have to up my game. any tips would be appreciated lol
Strat for spoilered fight
Spoiler: show
alright, thanks. I don't use free run much (it's the first Tales game I've played with it, I'm used to the linear-only battle system) so I'll keep that in mind. and I always forget about overlimit lol. if I can just take down
Spoiler: show
I'll be fine.
Been playing Blood Bowl like a madman the last couple of days. Had a hankering for it and just needed to Orc smash some fools.
Spontaneously decided to play Crysis 1 on the PS3 on my half-finished playthrough from awhile ago because I was too lazy to grab my stick for SG, or find a disc to pop in. Finished my delta playthrough, and did some clean-up for the platinum.
Was a pretty fucking good transition from PC to console at any rate, although I wish they'd have addressed how the last third of the game completely ignores all of your suit powers besides armor. I kinda feel like reinstalling Warhead on my PC since I never got around to finishing that. My PC is ass so it's kinda hard to play something like this at 10-15fps.
Also slowly getting back into Darksiders. The game isn't really grabbing me for some reason, but I'm pushing on through anyways, hoping it'll eventually get to the point where the hours fly by.
Just finished FFXIII-2. Slowly but surely working on the backlog of games. Either going to go with Tactics Ogre (psp) or Fire emblem (gba) next since I'm in a semi strategy game mood. Opinions?
