So at the requests of some friends, I tried out a browser-based game called Web Koihime†Musou. It's essentially a never ending (in the sense that the game goes on, even if you're logged out) RTS-PvP game based on an anime, based on a visual novel, based on The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
I haven't played too much yet, so I can't really give a review of the game, but I figured I'd mention it here so that anyone who really likes RTS games can give it a shot. It's currently in "closed-closed beta," that ends on April 24th, but it's not really hard to get a beta key at all if you make a beanfun account (which is free).
Man, Bioshock is fucking awesome. How did I miss this game? I think I'm getting close to the end. I just got done with the area where Cohen makes you take pictures of those 3 guys.
Not even done with 1 yet, I went ahead and picked up Bioshock 2 today(adding to my backlog... which I forgot to add Nier and Valkyria Chronicles in the other post). From what some co-workers were saying, 2 is even better?
Not a lot of people would agree on that. I believe it was due to the fact that it was made by a different development team and that the story fell flat for most people. I still enjoyed the hell out of it and ended up picking up the DLC afterward.
Just like you, I kicked myself for taking too long to play Bioshock 1. The same team is also working on Infinite so it's going to be a day 1 buy for me. (it's the very rare exception for me on dropping $60 on a game that doesnt support coop or mp)
Buddy told me about this game Mount and Blade: Warband, which is on sale on Steam for only $7.50 this weekend. It's pretty neat in that you get to command an army (recruit them, level them up, lead them in battle, fight yourself, etc.) and there's also an arena to do some solo fighting in. Combat system is neat in that you choose a direction (up/left/right/down) to attack and block, so there's more strategy involved. There are huge multiplayer games and apparently some co-op campaign mod too, so going to be spending some time in this game.
I probably spent more time in the CRPG multiplayer mod for M&B:Warband than I did Warband itself. I've been tempted to pick up that new multiplayer DLC for it which looks to be crazy, assuming 200+ people buy it to fill a single server.
Ended up grabbing Catherine the other day since it was on sale locally. About a couple hours in, enjoying the gameplay. Only real thing I have to say about the game was that it's a first-case for me where I preferred the in-engine visuals than I did the anime cutscenes. Makes me curious what the studio has planned for their next title.
I'd probably be fine with that since I'm still currently enjoying P3F for the first time. Tag that with some better visuals so the FMVs and clip-art portraits aren't needed, and we might have something more immersive than the same 2-3 canned animations + basic overhead camera angle in all social outings.
Finished Catherine, and gotta say I -really- enjoyed it.Ended up grabbing Catherine the other day since it was on sale locally. About a couple hours in, enjoying the gameplay. Seconded on the in game visuals preferred over the anime cutscenes.
Fire Emblem - Expect to repeat a shit ton of battles over and over again because a unit died or you forgot to recruit an important party member. The overall story makes the experience worth it though. The end of the prologue is so moving. If anyone asks, just blame it on allergies.
Tactics Ogre - Extremely time consuming, great game play, story, and a ton of replay value. Some of the troops and recruits are hard to get since getting specific ones will prevent you from getting others. It's a big trial and error situation, but you'll love every minute of it.
continuing with my gaming ADD, I have set aside SMT: DDS2 for Chrono Cross. been in a funk lately (see: my general discussion thread lol) and this game calms me down. soothing music, cheery graphics, nostalgia bombs all over the place... gotta love it.
also, fuck Kid she can help herself. Glenn > all
Lies and slander! Razzly > Glenn!!!
Dual Einlanzers > The Game
Shame that by the time you get them the game is trivially easy anyway.
Man I hate when that happens. It always seems like when you get a cool character, skill, item or w/e, it's so late in the game that you don't even need it.
PSO2 and a little of WoT (World of Tanks)
Insane, that game looks fun![]()
FFXIV Online. Terribly addicted.
Another World Leena is superior to your childhood friend.
