just reached Neam Ruins in SH: Covenant. have I mentioned that I love this game? because I fucking love this game. thank you, developers, for making MP-restorative items cheap enough that I can actually use my skills instead of conserving them for the boss. doesn't hurt that most skills are way easier to get perfect ring on than the regular attacks. I'm at 49.xx% or so, not sure if I'll be able to reach 65% by the end of the game (but the item you get for 65% perfect isn't that hot anyway).

Persona 2: Innocent Sin... just encountered a random monster that wiped out three out of my five team members with an instant-death attack. yep, I'm playing a SMT game.

Castlevania: SotN - unlocked Maria mode for the first time (playing the PSP Dracula X port). disappointing, really - she's not nearly as overpowered as she was in past games. her birds have been nerfed and and now have a lag time in-between hits, meaning they can no longer do continuous damage. no es bueno.

and of course, Ys Seven.

also picked up Jeanne D'arc today. not sure if I'll start it or not. four games might be enough for now.

Maria on the PSP port is nothing like the Saturn Maria.

Like, not even remotely close. OMG she was so OP.

25 hours into Rainbow Moon and it's very addicting. Not much for story but the gameplay keeps me wanting more.

I've always wondered, why is it the bonus characters in Castlevania games get super-jumps and all that jazz?

mostly because the regular characters get all of that stuff through the normal progression of the game, but bonus characters pretty much get all of their skills/abilities from the get-go.

Started back up Ys Chronicles. Really need to remember to save often in this game. Finally made progress in the lava area and found the black pearl, but died shortly afterward.

EDIT: Just got through the lava cavern. Boss is the ugliest monster I've ever seen in any RPG.

Yea SRPG, really makes me want to try out Disgaea, especially on vita. One of the trophies requires 100 hours of playtime and lv500 with a character but it's fun enough you won't even think of it.

Both of those are achieved really easily in Disgaea if you do the extra stuff.

god I remember getting to level 9999 in Disgaea. of course, that's not really the maximum level, what with transmigration. I think my final level was like 9999 + 27000 or something and that's nowhere near the max. I forget the exact numbers though.

kinda want to replay Disgaea... but I'm kinda terrified at the thought. besides, I just started Jeanne D'arc, no need for two SRPGs at once.

restarted Dark Cloud 2 this weekend having no desire to play any of my other games on tap at the moment. I swear this game is like a warm glass of milk and a big hug from your mom. something about it is just so cozy and comforting... until you die for the fourth time in an hour because you've underestimated just how quickly thoroughly a cute little flower monster can eviscerate you.

Played the ass off of this, there is nothing better in life than outfitting an AC with over 700 missiles, running out, and pulling out a surprise laser sword. Really awesome soundtrack, too, makes some of the 1-on-1 battles so much more awesome.

Finally got around to playing inFamous2, will probably be going for plat in this as well, especially since blast shards seem to be easier to obtain now. Also got Lollipop Chainsaw coming this week.

Friend GS'd Rainbow Moon with me, but haven't got around to playing it, looking forward to trying it out eventually. Even if not going for platinum in that game, seems to run you around 40-70 hours still, not bad for a game that's 15 bucks.

playing Crack Cocaine: The Game (also known as Ys Seven)

question regarding skills in Ys Seven: what does leveling them up do, exactly? I bought the game used so I don't have a manual. I read online it makes them do more damage and they eventually evolve at a certain level, but is there anything else?

edit: lol, almost halfway through the game and I just realized you can skip dialogue with the O button. thank. god.

I never really paid much attention to skills so can't really comment on that part. I mostly just used multi hit abilities.

Speaking of Ys, tried Felghana on Nightmare mode. Holy crap that 2nd boss in the mines is cheap as all hell. It would be nice if the height of her horizontal beam wasn't random. Gotta love when you have zero reaction time and jump right into an attack.

Fucking hard on keyboard to play keep-away when it comes out and aims for you, so I waste my magic and just hover-spin over it, then try to sword it to death before it bails. Got it down to just the head after 12 some attempts, and then died since I couldn't even get near the bugger to damage him.

Really need to get me a dedicated wired gamepad for my PC so I don't have to muck with 360/dualshock drivers.

Well after reading around it seems to be based on how high you are when she launches it, but she is pretty unforgiving on Nightmare since they discs come at you about twice the speed they do on other modes.

EDIT: Checked a video and it is indeed the rhythm of your jumps that make a huge impact on the height. This is going to be quite a hassle. Can only imagine how later bosses will be, like that cheap !@#$ Chester.

Then I got stomped by the one after that.

I don't want to imagine it on Nightmare.
