Does grinding levels even help with the boss fights? Most I've done for one was ding two levels, and it did jack shit for my damage output. All it probably bought me was another mistake before I die.


Been playing some Sonic Generations aside from that. Dunno how I feel about the game. Middling response I guess, which is a definite improvement over my feelings for Sonic Unleashed, for which I purchased that solely to see how bad it was. I seem to have more fun with the challenges in Generations than I am the main acts. More bitesized focused level re-arrangements vs. 3-7min Acts.

Really annoys me how there's no "Restart" option though for a given Act. There's a "Start Over" but it costs you a life, and I believe your chance at S-ranking that run also.

Did you get the broadsword before fighting him? Since 2 levels made quite a bit of a difference for me when I did these fights.

Not got my PC on, but I got whatever the second sword is. Granted there was another path I could have ventured prior to meeting the boss. One of those "This way or that way?" situations......guess I'll check it out next time I load 'er up.

The bosses in the Lava zone are really annoying, especially that goddamn bug that kills me in like 2-3 hits. Holy shit, you need to be perfect to beat the bosses (I know I was when I beat Chester).

and yeah, bosses in Ys are fun. I can't imagine playing a Ys game on anything harder than Normal; the very thought of it frightens me. although I'm finding the bosses in Seven even more difficult than the ones in Felghana for some reason. not all of them, but some - like the bird boss in the wind temple - are just plain ridiculous.
in other news, 15 hours into Dark Cloud 2 and I just realized I glitched myself out of 3 Fruit of Edens. will probably restart

I actually find easy type 1.3 to be a far more enjoyable game than the default build even though it is not really all that challenging
This is actually mostly due to random encounters, if there was a way to make it like... normal 1.3 for story battles and like easy type for random encounters, would be golden.

Normal, and I fully agree.

It's been frustrating, but not frustrating enough that i throw my psp across the room (not yet anyway)

And it always feels good when I finally kick ass and win a battle. :D It just frustrates me how fucking ridiculous the AI can be at times, but just playing smartly you can usually get over it.

Although... I did recruit a golem smn <.< I used it in the very last battle in chapter2 because fuck if I was going to change jobs/abilities/equips for 10 minutes every time I restart the fucking fight. I feel dirty, but at the same time I'm just happy to be in chapter 3. And hey... they made golem OP as hell (0 mp cost and pretty fast charge) in hopes of making enemy fights stronger, but they left one of them recruitable, I'm just being resourceful! Right? >_>

Played some vanilla Heretic for the first time. Boring-ass monsters and mostly right-angle level design bored me to death. Also felt like it coulda been the original game to abuse the wondrous colour palette of brown.







Decided to skip Heretic after that point and then got started on some mother fucking Hexen.
Also caught myself stuck staring at this hall like many times in the past.


The puzzle switches can still go fuck themselves though.

Crazy how much better Hexen is over Heretic given they were just one year apart, and made by the same developer.

Got Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Version today for PS3... looks so goddamn nice. Of course that is compared to the handhelds. It just feeeeeels good to play it on an HD TV. Fuck if I understand a word, but I could probably get around in these menus blindfolded at this point. Can't wait to get into some real shit. Just starting on Elder quests.

I hate how the enemy AI is the smartest fucker ever. But what I hate even more is that the guest AI is the most fucking retarded thing ever. Chapter 1 sucked because of all the guests constantly taking up space in my party, now I'm finally over that a bit, but HOLY SHIT ORRAN YOU ARE A MOTHER FUCKING RETARD. I don't even know why they removed galaxy stop from him since he's only in one battle, kinda stupid, but hey. What pisses me off was I slept an enemy, to try to make the battle more manageable and so that I could steal some goodies before going on, AND THAT RETARD FUCKER DECIDED TO ATTACK THE ONE ENEMY I SLEPT. ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID? YES YOU ARE. If only the objective wasn't to protect him I'd just kill him off. Although he can be useful when he throws some elixirs around, he usually doesn't...

It took me weeks to get the Emblem before. Fucking weeks. Countless hours doing that fucking Act 3 chase, countless fucking hours, praying everything went perfect so I could kill Raven. I don't wanna do that again D:

My Skyrim save files on my 360 are all unplayable all of a sudden. I was only 20ish hours in on this run so I'm considering starting over. I'd hate to get that far just to have it happen again though. Considering just ditching it for now to work on my backlog.

Been playing a bunch of Sid Meier's Pirates in the meantime. I missed it the first time around. That game is way too addicting.

Slowly working on Quantum Conundrum as well.
