Tooted around more PSP games, tried Crisis Core and was kind of surprised by how much I was turned off by the game. I really wanted to like it and got to the point from playing some other games of just wanting a solid, dependably 5-star awesome game to try and didn't feel it at all. I like Kingdom Hearts, but that's not what I wanted in this game. Zack looks goofy, some of the limit breaks felt silly, the DMW drove me fucking insane with all of the stopping and starting, the story's felt overly off-the-wall and for someone who loves shit like missions, they seemed like more of a pain in the ass than anything. Really didn't want to give up on it but I don't think it's gonna happen.

I recently installed it on my laptop. Everything was going good for about a week, but then all of a sudden the loading times started getting extremely long. Sometimes, I think it even freezes(The first "now loading.." screen when you start Mega Man Legends comes to mind). I'm just curious if anybody here knows what caused this. I don't think I changed any of the settings, or if I did, it was without realizing it.
Kind of a late reply, but if you're still having issues:

It's pretty lightweight, you could just try reinstalling it. Chances are you accidentally changed one of the settings, or you're having some kind of compatibility issue with the game you're playing. If reinstalling doesn't help, check their forums for topics about the game giving you trouble, some games work much better with certain specific settings.

Faster than Light. Amazing indie game on PC. If you aren't playing it, feel ashamed, the game is simple but so addicting. Google it, its cheap.

How are you finding playing it to be glitchwise Salodin? I have heard that it is pretty wonky at times, and doesn't support many resolutions and even flat out won't work on some displays. I had read this last week though, and haven't followed up. I will agree though, that the game looks addicting as hell. Pretty much a roguelike in space yeah?

EDIT: Here is where I was getting some of the glitchy info stuffs. Great watch for anyone that isn't aware of the game...

i havent actually come across any glitches, and I dont try to maximize the game or anything so I haven't noticed any resolution isues. That video is actually what made me get the game lol. Even on easy, the game isn't a push over until you learn some tricks and stuff, and even then its challenging unless you get really lucky and find some great augments or weapons. I just now beat the game, after almost two dozen play throughs (half of them on easy), now I'm gonna work on beating it on normal and then on the achievements.

I really wish they made a tablet port of this game, I feel like it'd be amazing on it.

I'd definitely pick up the game if there was a Vita/Android release for playing on the go. Seen a lot of vids myself, probably going to jump on the Steam release in a couple months or so once I clear some of my backlog (I got about 11 unopened games here).

TotalBiscuit needs to do a series on it at any rate.

Not sure if anyone else played it yet, but I'm blazing through Double Dragon Neon. Took a couple hours, but I'm loving the game. Wasn't big on the original Double Dragon games (I didn't like NES-era beat'em'ups in general outside of Battletoads), but the stuff they added to the formula such as ducking and rolling makes the combat more engaging, rather than a "Who hit first?" situation. The game having an awesome OST also helps.

Local shop was having a clearance sale, so I ended up a new PSP battery (old one doesn't hold charge longer than a week) also along with a copy of Ace Combat X. Been a long-ass time since I played an AC game (4 on PS2 I believe), so I'm curious how the transition to PSP went, and whether it's as voiced dialog driven for the plot during missions.

    FTL WTF

Unlocking things is a bitch though. So far I just have the Kes..Kessler type A and B then Type A Torus. Getting 3 drones active at the same time is a whole lot harder than I thought it would be...

Got bit by the Monster Hunter bug hard. Tried to start with P3 after the response here but every source I used to find it was dead or taken down so I jumped into Freedom Unite and have played the fucking shit out of it. So far I've only really liked the regular kind sword and the long sword, anything slower and I die inside when I miss chopping some shitass jumping raptor.

I'd seen that this was the one that might've been harder to get into and was kind of astonished at my patience with all the tutorials and weapon guides considering how quickly I've been dropping games lately. I felt like I've been getting super sensitive to slow or overly verbose introductions in games, but whatever they did just worked. God Eater Burst felt like it had a strong introduction that let you learn as you played and slowly introduced you to the story and workings of the game and the gameplay's even similar, but I just couldn't get into that. Probably the absence of a lil BBQ ditty.

You are now one of us Caiyuo, never leave us.

I don't really see how P3 would be easier to get into per se, but just easier overall. So if you are having fun with Unite, then you are on the right path! P3 is great too, and on the PS3 with the HD Ver. even if it IS in Japanse, goddamn such a blast. It will easily hold me over until whenever the hell I get a Wii U and MHU. You just doing Elder/Village quests? Or did you jump right into the Guild Rank Quests? If you need a few sites for reference/armor/quest procession info, here ya go.

    MH Wikia
    MHFU Food Recipes
    An Armor Combo/Set Thread
Athena's Armor Set Search Tool (Athena's ASS!)

Have fun! And for what it is worth I was the same way, started with Long Sword/Katana because I liked the mobility and the speed, but then moved on to Hammer and then Bow. You get used to the slower weapons. I think it is a hell of a lot of fun learning new weapons. They all play so different from one another, so it really opens up a whole new game every time.

Goddamn lol thanks! I'm doing both elder and guild rank starter-stuff and moving along as I get new stuff. Just finished up everything that was available for Snowy Area and starting on the Jungle. Staying blind and waiting to jump into guides and resources for a bit until I feel like I've canvassed the game pretty well.

I was happy with most of the weapons, too, the fast moving enemies just frustrated the fuck out of me while trying to manage the camera at the same time early on. I liked the lance's ability to make little adjustments for that so it might be another thing I try out.

Yeah, very good idea. I should have prefaced that you should avoid the quest sections of the Wiki if you just want to go through them in your own order at your own pace. I think that is a good plan. Once you find you want to know more about monster weaknesses though, the Wiki is not bad for it. Hell, GameFAQs has some damn useful FAQs for MH as well. Always have. Anyway, monsters have element weaknesses and strengths, weapon type weakness (some weak to blunt, some to slash, etc.) and their body parts each have different weaknesses. Wings, legs, back, face, tail, etc. Crazy how much people have researched the bosses.

NONE of that is 'must know' info though. Until you hit that monster that takes you the whole time limit to kill... then it might be time to start optimizing gear =P Until then, enjoy enjoy enjoy.

lol I'm currently replaying Xenogears and Nocturne! good choices both.

just finished (or almost finished) Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. 90000 DME on all four characters and Iseria Queen is a joke now. I may or may not get an Angel Slayer; that's all I have left if I feel like going for it.

restarted Contact for the DS. such an odd little game. I'm not sure if I'll see it through but it does have its charms.

the way my friend once desribed it was "you meet someone, learn all about them, and then watch them die. repeat about 20 times."

been switching off between BL2 co-op with my roommate and still working on nocturne. in the obelisk right now, just experienced a classic nocturne fuck-you moment. i was coming up on the 128F terminal and had a back-attack by those succubus things that use the instant death attacks. first move, protagonist dead, back to 77F D: guess i'll have to see if i have any void-death magatama...

man, beating this game is going to feel like more of an accomplishment than finishing college

I usually cycle through two platform games I play exclusively and one handheld for the shitter/work. Right now D3 for the PC and Battlefield 3 for the PS3 consume my at-home time but the handheld is getting boring. I replayed the new FFT, then FFVII, Chrono Cross, MGS, and now playing a perfect save state FFVIII. Any recommendations for handheld that's long and captivating along the Final Fantasy line? PSOne classics are a no-go looking for something newer.

Also picked up Fallout: New Vegas (I know i'm behind). Are the add-ons a must? Fallout 3 used to be the death of my sleep when it was out so i'm not a complete rookie at Fallout.

i only played vanilla NV, but from what my roommate told me, old world blues was the only DLC worth buying.

Yup... no one is going to take a hit for you. This game doesn't fuck around.

Funny you mention that, I got the True Demon Ending before my first day of college. It really did feel like the best accomplishment though, video game wise.
