Only game that felt like an offline MMO to me was White Knight Chronicles 2, but it's......not exactly a great game. Torchlight 2 probably another option if you got friends.

As for me, still playing Double Dragon NEON, and I'm probably the only person I know that actually likes it. No clue how I spent 14hrs on it, but I can't get enough of the OST. Shit probably going to end up my GOTY. Game is dumb on so many levels.......

    Spoiler: show

Could really go for a DLC expansion. Higher difficulty and all that jazz.

Found Digital Devil Saga 1 and Nocturne local for $17 each. Now if I can find DDS2 cheap too I'll be happy.

Any tips for Devil Saga 1? I'm mostly stacking AGI and MAG right now.

i've reached the 5th kalpa now, so metatron is coming up soon. anything specific i should do to prep for that fight? my boss team has been daisoujou/matador/red rider all with bright might, and it's served me pretty well so far. if i can get BM onto dante, he seems like he'd be a solid update for that team.

I'm hopping on the Nocturne bandwagon. Just started tonight, so only an hour in. Somehow I never got around to playing this one back in the day.

Don't feel bad, Double Dragon Neon was a blast for me, when I was high. Haven't tried it when I'm sober, afraid to...

bright might/dark might are so good that I've heard people call them cheating, although if that's cheating then so is a back-attack mamudoon or a twenty-turn beast eye. all's fair in love, war, and SMT.

of course immediately after posting that, it occurred to me that you can't fuse dante with anything, so i imagine he won't be all that useful for really difficult fights. still great for normal encounters right now, since he's like 20 levels above my MC at the moment.

Didn't see sorry. You may want to slap on a Magatama that voids Expel, he likes to throw out Mahamaon's randomly between attacks, debuffs, megidolaon, and Fire of Sinrai. Dante is a very well rounded character just sucks he can't ever get Pierce, but because of Stinger and a few other moves unique to him, he can be quite useful.

At least until you get access to Pierce, Beezlebub (flyform), and Vishnu or Shiva.

Damn you all. Just bought Digital Devil Saga 1 locally, and then traded Skyrim in since GS had a decent promo going. Got 32 for that and spent it online grabbing Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga 2 new. Yay more backlog! Now all that is left on my Megaten list is Devil Summoner... yeah right. Never see those for decent prices, if I see them at all.

I've been recording random footage of my new game +++ hard mode run on Nocturne, and I never really fully realized what the Vortex World was until I got this amazing view in the Amala Temple, you can see the rest of Japan in the sky since its basically turned inside out and Kagatsuchi is the light source instead of well the sun.

Sad, I had to really sacrifice quality because fraps even recording at half is just too damn much. If I left it unaltered it would have been a 4-5GB upload. I really need to find a better alternative. This clip was suppose to show a few friends what demons I had and how much better the game looks on an emulator.. but fails because of the quality ><

You're supposed to compress/resize FRAPs videos on your own. That tool wasn't designed to spit out upload-friendly videos.

As for gaming, hopped around again. Enjoying Ace Combat X on the PSP still. Probably would be enjoying it more on the Vita since I could map the d-pad to right-analog for easier controlling, but I'm still waiting for a bundle on that piece of hardware. Also started the Thief series the other night. Feels kinda weird playing a game from that era. Gigantic levels, even though they look like complete cack compared to modern expectations. Playing on the hardest difficulty, as that seems to be the only way to play it proper.

I really need to play DDS2 sometime. the first ended on such a cliffhanger; I have to know what happens, but the story is so good that I refuse to youtube or spoil it. if the game weren't 5% story 95% dungeons I would have finished it already.

just about done with Star Ocean: Second Evolution. I played SO2 on the PSX once but quit when I reached the four fields so it feels good to finally finish this bitch. final party: Claude/Ashton/Welch/Rena. Welch isn't that good but Claude could practically solo the game with Aeterna/Meteor Ring spam so I just threw her in because I like the character.

Picked up SO2 for PSP like a month ago remembering how much I liked it way back, but the fucking dialogue and voice-acting killed it for me. I think I got 2 hours in and just couldn't go on.

it's pretty cliché JRPG tripe, but I find that charming... although I still skip through the dialogue and don't bother with the voice acting. the gameplay's where it's at though, between the battle system and the skills/crafting.

It's becoming harder to do that now even though I'm used to giving certain games a pass if they're special to me, there's too much shit I want to play that I've missed that I'm to the point of skipping almost anything I can't see myself wanting to finish.

holy crap nocturne looks awesome scaled up. wish i had a decent PC that could actually run PS2 games at full speed... i tried PCSX2 out a few weeks ago and it wouldn't even maintain a steady framerate on the memory card check screen when DQ8 boots up, haha.

    To those playing Second Evolution:
I found SO1 to be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than SO2. If you haven't played First Departure, do it.

Was Star Ocean 2 on PSP a remake like the first one, or just a port of the PSX copy?

Both were remakes. SO1 was never in the west until the remake.
