Decided to finally try out Terranigma, since I heard a lot of my 2d game dev friends talk about it every now and then. Now I can see why. Some of the designs of areas and such were nicely done, and it's a fun game (so far). Also good music as well~ I just need to get used to the 4 direction controls again lol.

still playing MHFU, started to play around with different weapons after feeling like I was just making life harder by trying to one-size-fits-all every monster. Really loving the 2 lances and the light bowgun. Unfortunately the ones I could create were so weak that even maxing out the ammo for everything my shotgun supports is causing me to run dry of all but the infinite normal bullets and still run out of time on the Plesioth. I really do not fucking know how this game has kept me playing, I should have tried to eat my psp by now.

Also the pokke village music is like, happier than goddamn life.

I like it. I have never had much love for the light bowgun, but the heavy is a thing of beauty on some monsters. It definitely isn't ideal for some of the faster monsters, but the slower and more predictable ones are a joy to torture with it. Elemental DMG Up skill coupled with that particular monsters weakness makes pretty short work of a lot of bosses. Just gunned Jinouga for the first time the other night, and he nearly carted me. But the second and third time, once I reacquainted myself with the bastards moves, were far better. That was with only Cluster and Normal shot. Once I get a HBG that lets me use Ice Ammo... it is going to be glorious. Also... fuck Plessy. I hate that cowardly, hiding ass more than most any other monster. Cheap ass Tigrex being the exception. I cannot WAIT for MH4 when I can actually jump in the water after Plesioth instead of just chilling on the beach waiting.

Seriously, he's swam between the 2 water areas like 4 times and it's just back and forth, it is driving me fucking insane. It surprised me that I've actually been able to adapt quite a bit from Dark Souls, the two don't seem that hugely different. Relatively slow, unforgiving combat where you adapt or die. In this case it's a little easier to drive the lessons home when a giant stupid fucking bird is tripping all over itself right on top of you, though.

It's $9 on PSN for PS+ subscribers, and I've not touched any games in the series thus far. I just want something to play on Halloween where I can murder lots of zombies, and the price is right.

Only 2 and Nocturne were new. Bought those from Gamestop.com

All three were available locally a few weeks back, but got snatched up before I could get to the store. 1 was all that was left, and it has a decent scratch on it but the manager would rather disclose that and maybe not get a sale instead of having to just trash it. It runs fine so far but I plan on getting the disc buffed next time I hit up my local used game mecca mom and pop shop.

Saw Raidou 2 (EDIT: for some reason thought it was 1) with the plush, box, everything at the recent Retro Gaming Expo here in PDX. It was only 60 but I passed. Kicking myself. Maybe next year.

This is more of a random question, but I have didn't want to make a thread just for this. When I first played Fat Princess a few years ago I loved it, but my PS3 and my router didn't get along so it was a long while before I was actually able to purchase it and I just assumed there was no active multiplayer anymore based off what some friends had said. Yesterday I downloaded Happy Wars on XBLA on a whim and I'm really enjoying it as well (sans matchmaking, that's straight up awful) and it reminds me a lot of Fat Princess style gameplay. I'm wanting to play more of these types of games, but I don't know what the hell the even are. I asked a friend several months ago if they were MOBA (since I thought this was what MOBA was) and he told me no. Can anyone tell me what the genre of game these two fall under or even more games like them that are good?

For anyone that hasn't played either, but might have input some of the features of both:

• Capture/Conquer an object: In Fat Princess you have to bring the princess back to your castle; in Happy Wars you have to conquer the most towers before time expires or take over the other castle.
• Classes: Fighter classes, building and/or resource classes, ranged classes, etc
• Team based: I'm pretty sure both games are 15 on 15.

on another note, I just picked up Resident Evil 4 again. to anyone who played it: what were your favorite guns? I don't want to upgrade the guns I have if I'm just gonna replace them later, and I doubt I'll play through more than once.

So after giving Resident Evil 6 a chance and quickly regretting that decision, I need to pick something else and my choices are;

Deus Ex Human Revolution that I bought at Best Buy for $3
Buy Dark Souls DLC for ps3 and play that again (even though I already have it on Steam)
Open up Saint's Row the Third for PS3 that is still wrapped in plastic and beat it/ platinum it
Play Duke Nukem Forever which I bought for $5 on clearance at Target (please dont pick this)
Beat Batman Arkham City for ps3 which I bought day 1 and never got to the first boss
Finish up Assassin's Creed Revelations that I also bought day 1 but stopped playing after getting 1/4 way through
Play/platinum Devil May Cry 3 HD

I'm currently leaning towards Saints Row

I don't know why every hates Duke Nukem. I thought it was funny. If you only paid 5 bucks for it, its worth it for 5 bucks at least, lol.

PC version of DNF is 'ok'. Console versions get fucked with ugly textures and really long load times due to sloppy port. Problem for me was the gunplay never felt satisfying.
Only parts I enjoyed were the FPS platforming sections and the badly timed crude sexual jokes, but I think I'm a minority on that. I still need to play the expansion DLC for it some day though.


Ended up finishing Resident Evil 4 HD(lol) on PS3 the other night. Game still holds up very well outside of textures rearing their ugly head at anything above 480i. Got my mafia suit for Leon, so I'll probably attempt a Professional run for a stupid trophy. Never tried pro before on the GCN/Wii release, so I'm expecting to get my face pounded in by the AI.

bought FFT on PSN. Googled some ability formulas then found out there's a whole shitload of mods for the game... downloaded iso and mods and now playing it on my computer. Pretty much tacticing my brains out. Just finished FFTA 2 yesterday. Not sure what to do once I beat this one.

oh and then I came across these ai tournaments people have with FFT... watching the shit outta those. derp
