I tried to play with the Zodiac version a while ago but I got frustrated trying to configure it so it didn't run poorly on my computer, because PS2 emulators are a pain. Now that I have a better graphics card I kinda wanna try it again. FFXII was one of my favorites.

restarted The Witcher 2. My god. This game... so good. Not sure what route to take my talents. Might sword it up but magic route looks fun too. I'll prolly sword it up though

finished up Uncharted 2 recently and am about 60% through 3. I'm thinking about doing an indie game or two and have Sine Mora, The Walking Dead, and maybe Dust on my radar. If there's any other good suggestions, PM me. I like RPGs but have been branching out more lately (though not necessarily by choice).

doing a NG+ on nocturne now, just to breeze through and watch one of the regular endings. i wound up finishing it with the TDE a few weeks back, which was massively satisfying. i think i'm about 10 hours in and ended at asakusa last night.

Playing through X-Com Enemy Unknown on PS3. That shit is ridiculously addictive. Nothing worse than building a squaddie up to Colonel and then watching them get slaughtered. I've noticed that the hit %'s in that game don't me a damn thing. On a whim I loaded up a prior save where I had a sniper ready to shoot with a 69% hit percentage. The shot literally went 0/20. I can understand the game is supposed to be difficult. But if that's the case just remove the hit %'s completely since they mean absolutely nothing. Infuriating to watch an enemy then snipe you from an even further distance and hit every single time.

Other than that I'm having a blast with the game. I love the R&D aspect of it.

Still on Golden Sun. Massively fun game that I really shouldn't have put off for this long.

Zealot's convincing me to play WKC2 so I can catch up to him.

That post about Nocturne makes me want to get back to it.. last post I made on the blog was about how all the other ending options seem to be lame because the Reasons you could pick were lame.

it's well worth going back to if you haven't finished it, but prepping for the final encounter if you're doing the TDE path can be a massive, boring grindfest if you haven't been gradually building up the necessary demons and skills and such ahead of time. once you have a party capable of clearing the final battle though, you'll be able to steamroll everything on NG+ once you can re-summon them (your compendium carries over, and summoning cost is halved if you get 100%).

in the obelisk now, my party is metatron/shiva/beelzebub, i don't think i've had a normal encounter that's taken more than one turn to clear. bosses are just a matter of doing a couple rounds of debilitate/tarukaja > hades blast/hassohappa, win. subsequent playthroughs are a breeze, it's a much smaller time investment than your first time through, which is the only reason i'm checking out some of the other endings.

Can't remember where I am on Nocturne, other than I was pretty freaking overleveled for where I was (last thing was..killing Sakahagi I think?)? Sitting at level 62 with Amaterasu, Wu Kong (Hasso Happa is broken), and a Daisoujou in my main.

I got that high because I was grinding in the 2nd Kalpa in the cursed corridor. Dunno if I have it in me to get 100% on the first playthrough.

How high am I going to have to grind for TDE? I know Pierce is a big thing.

ah nice, that's about where i am right now, just about to start yoyogi park.

if you decide to get pierce for your demons, 95 is the minimum (the only demon that gets it is sold by a shady broker, and you can't reach him until you've fused metatron, who starts at 95). i think i was somewhere around my early/mid 70's when i got pierce for the main character, and about 90 by the time i finished clearing out the final dungeon, getting masakados, etc., to give an idea of how much excess leveling you'll need to do.

you should be able to beat the game just fine only having pierce on the MC, it just means the final battle will take a lot longer and thus involves more risk. definitely make sure your battle party has a couple characters with access to debilitate and the basic buffs like tarukaja/rakukaja, as well as at least one with dekaja/dekunda. basically, you want to be able to set up full buffs vs. full debuffs, paired with something like friekugel or gaea rage on your MC to do damage. when focused, those can easily deal several thousand damage in a single action, which should allow you to make steady progress on all of the final bosses.

That's a good point.

My Daisoujou has Dekunda/Dekaja right now. I think he's always going to be a reserve, at least, due to some of the stuff he has.

I have a few other randoms with Tarukaja, but I'll check with that one.

If I get into a focused groove, I'm sure the grinding won't bug me as much.

At worst, I'll make two save files and if I get bored, just plow through and see the ending to see it, then go back and do TDE. We'll see what my patience gives way to.

Christ where were you fuckers like 4 months ago when I was playing. It's worth putting some work into the Georama now. The online mode surprisingly enough still has a fairly active presence. Usually people will give you a hand with quests and stuff.
