I installed Dark Souls last night (PC) and gave it a shot. It seems like a really, really bad port .... the config GUI was updated to work for PC, but when I got in the game, the tutorial still showed all Xbox buttons or some shit. Tough to learn how to play (especially when the game is supposed to be really damned hard) like that. I didn't have much time last night, so I'll give it more time soon, but damn.

I highly highly recommend playing that game with a controller if you're not. Also recommend DSfix mod.

Fired up Just Cause 2 for the first time in over a year. Had to reinstall and my save is lost...

Still, a great game that runs great on my PC. Will eat up another 40+ hours replaying.

Looked amazing at E3 a couple years ago. Saw some footage now and it looks like a dated (graphics and genre) mix of starhawk, PS2 and a few other dropship scifi shooters. Maybe it stands out if you play EVE, but that's one of the most intimidating MMOs to get into and I assume it only has a dwindling population.

I really didn't want to necro the psp CFW thread so I'll ask this here.

I plan to play BBS FM+ but it's not running on my 5.50 Prome-4 CFW, I assume I need to upgrade.

Is 6.60 Pro C fix 3 the latest version? It seems like the latest CFW I can find. Also the guide says to install PSP Official Firmware 6.60 and then the CFW. Do I need to install the OFW if my psp is already hacked?

I haven't touched my psp or CFW in forever so I'm a little clueless.

edit: Somehow got it working on 5.50 Prom 4 but had to switch UMD ISO mode to OE isofs

but stil interested in updating eventually if someone can answer

Keep an eye out for the Just Cause 2 multiplayer guys to do another test weekend. It's hilariously fun.

Finished God of War 2 and have moved on to Ni No Kuni. A more traditional RPG has been a nice change of pace from AC3 and GoW2.

I just hacked my psp 3001 for the first time the other day to actually get past and finish FF8. It is very easy.

You can either copy the OFW 6.60 from Sony's website or just do the system update from the settings. After that I dl'd CFW 6.60 pro-c,which I believe is the latest and followed the instructions on setting it up, which took less than a few minutes. You can youtube how to do it, but I'll also PM a website I found that has it step by step if you need.

got my replacement copy of Fire Emblem in the mail today, played up through chapter 5 of the tutorial already. I am in love all over again. I am beside myself with anticipation for Awakening, though now I'm hearing rumblings that the release date has been pushed back at some Gamestop stores while others are selling it already. so I guess we'll get it when we get it.

Was playing some good ole Binding of Isaac and realized that starting out with the 9 Lives cat item can make you a pretty broken character if you beat a boss and then kill yourself and keep killing the same boss over and over.

picked up Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath for my PS2.

my impression of Norrath:

(after five minutes) "god damnit why isn't there auto-aim? my arrows keep going everywhere. this is bullshit. I fucking hate this game."
(after ten hours) "oh is it monday morning already?"

I loved Champions and the sequel too. Shoulda played DA first though at least I feel that way.
Played BG:DA first and after playing Champions I couldn't go back to it.

Yo this Sonic Allstar Racing game is seriously the best kart game I've ever played(DoubleDash and Chocobo Racing are a close 2nd/3rd). Bad ass music, visuals, tracks, and easily the best single-player offering ever. The controls are great, too; the drifting/boost system is like MK: DD on steroids.

The whole Danica Patrick market-whoring will probably make alot of people pass it over, but Sega just set the new standard for Kart games. Also, I'm playing the PC version, which is the only version capped at 60 frames of butter(somehow the WiiU can't handle 60fps). The only blemish on this game atm is that I've had 2 crashes after a 5hr session. Thankfully, they already have a patch in the works. It's super fucking cheap, I think Steam has it for $25 now. Packed full of nostalgia to be had.

Still a great game, its just with them being so similar... you tend to miss certain things while playing DA, at least I felt that way!
You might not.

Either way, should be fun.

how is Return to Arms? reviews aren't so hot but they mostly dog it for being more of the same, which I really wouldn't mind - I love Norrath anyway.
