Started on Brutal Legend. For a game involving Jack Black, it's surprisingly good.

Been hooked on Dust 514 since beta. I still can't believe how much better it's gotten since the horrible uprising update that made everything look good, but play like shit.
Anyway, since they finally did something about matchmaking, overall player quality has skyrocketed to the point that every public battle escalates to full scale war. Tanks, turret mounted jeeps, drop ships acting like VTOL taxis. War is a beautiful thing...
Shits getting real in the conquest portion too. There's a "neutral" war reporter covering planetary conquest, alliances, peace treaties, truces, and enough political propaganda and mud slinging to make the last presidential election look like a campaign for head of the yearbook club.
Did I mention this game is free?

Got back into Fire Emblem Awakening and made quite a bit of progress. About 5 chapters away from having the game done. So far the only children characters I use are Morgan, Lucnia (Though she seems pretty weak compared to Chrom), and Inigo, who is probably my all time favorite.

Just bought Borderlands 2 for Steam on a whim off amazon for $13 even though I'm not huge into FPS and super grindy games.
    I hope I shan't regret it.

It isn't too bad, though the barrage of side quests wore on my nerves pretty quick.

Also just beat Fire Emblem Awakening. Pretty enjoyable game though the class system confused me. Why the hell couldn't I switch Chrom back to a High Lord yet I could switch my Avatar back to his Grandmaster class?

I've already noticed that. I'm a guy who likes doing all optional stuff before moving on in the story. I'm 80min in and I'm still doing quests for the first NPC quest giver I've ran into.
My inventory also keeps getting clogged with useless stuff. What's the point of twenty different handguns that have barely any difference in stats?

I just bought Dishonored for my ps3 I purchased yesterday and not sure if I want it. The clerk at Target suggested getting Skyrim over it due to gameplay hours. Googling Dishonored game play time, most say it's only 14 hours and you're done with the entire game.

I'm sure Dishonored is an awesome game, but for the exact same price which is really worth more, that or Skyrim? I'm leaning heavy on returning it for Skyrim due to the game play time. Throw some opinions at me!

Is game play time all that matters?
I think its important if you know whether you enjoy sandboxes. Personally I couldn't finish any of the TES games, because I had to do every side quest I stumbled upon, explore and so on and suddenly lost interest in them even before moving the story anywhere, lol.

Game play time definitely is not all that matters. Graphics, how the game runs, combat, etc etc. I like to roam and what not and do the side quests but by no means is it necessary. I haven't played a TES game so I'm unsure of how much I'd like it. I watched a friend recently play Skyrim in the vampire area and it looked neat enough.

Bleh, just made up my mind I think. I should have checked ebay first for Dishonored. Some being sold with shipping for $13 or so. Forgot to mention, not sure if I want Skyrim as well because I'll be getting Dark Souls as well. Choices...bleh lol.

Dark Souls and Skyrim are some of the biggest timesinks of all time... I have a really hard time completing games like that, for the simple fact that I don't have 100 hours to throw on a game (unless it's throughout a year or so lol). I'd rather play games that end sooner rather than later.

Dark Souls again, finally bought Artorias dlc, I've put 90 hours into the game thus far and started a new character today. Also Metro 2033, HOW THE FUCK HAVE I NOT PLAYED THIS GAME UNTIL NOW. It's so fucking good, aside from the gameplay being broken up into short segments with the chapters, it is literally one of the best games I've played in a long fucking time. I hope Last Light improves on my one gripe and keeps most of it the same.

@the above discussion: Dishonored not worth buying imo, it's basically Bioshock 1 but without a compelling narrative and the game is ugly as sin, not that you'll notice as 90% of your time will be spent in Dark Vision (also a problem).

Dark Souls is a must buy, Skyrim is eh, Morrowind or Oblivion are better TES games.

I had read Skyrim was everything Oblivion was supposed to be but with all of the fixes. Good to know it just seems like more review fluff. I think Oblivion GoTY is like $6. I'd rather spend that. Thanks for the opinion!

Still playing through Knights of the Old Republic. I forgot how much of a bitch it is to use the Jedi Consular. Might as well not even give that bitch a lightsaber since he can't do anything with it anyways.

lol Yeah. Skyrim is extremely dumbed down compared to Oblivion. I'm sure you would enjoy it but if you're looking for a pure TES experience, Morrowind or Oblivion is the way to go. Just don't go into it expecting stellar combat, because that's definitely not what the games bring to the table, it's everything else (story, customization, lore and enviroments, things that Skyrim were lacking, save for the last one).

@Brill: Dude tell me about it, I transitioned from Scoundrel into Jedi Sentinel and I had like all my shit in DEX so now I'm like mediocre at lightsabers AND force powers. It's fan-fucking-tastic! Next playthrough I'm just gonna go pure melee soldier/guardian.

I was trying to keep my persuade skill high so I could roll right through the persuade checks(which I can do easily.) But my strength is only 14. I completely forgot that strength is the accuracy modifier. I remembered after I had sunk 4 points into Dexterity because after all the years of FFXI how could strength be the fucking modifier right?!!!?!?! I ended up making a scout/sentinel and I'm having a much easier time. I can actually hit things.

Just got my 2nd yellow light in the life of my 60gb. Not sure if i want to cook it again. Most of my files are on the cloud so I won't be losing TOO much if I don't repair it. However, I never knew the glory of having 2 ps3's until I did fix it the first time. Playing online only games in the same room as someone is kind of hard to pass up. It's a shame that we live in a time where you have to play on 2 consoles in the same house. Perhaps Nex-Gen consoles will have enough processing power to allow split screen for more games.

Anyway, going to pop open my ps3 tomorrow and see what happens.

Implying lack of splitscreen games this generation had anything to do with processing power.

I'm no expert so I figured that was the case for something like Borderland's 2 split screen coop versus something like Dragon's Dogma. If it's just developer choice or some mechanical constraint then w/e

Edit: actually I cant really think of a console game that has such intense single player content that the machine couldn't handle displaying that twice.
