Shortly after I post this, I find this news:
While I understand Miyamoto's points, I still think there's plenty of ideas he could explore:
- Online races. To my knowledge, none of the F-Zero games have this feature yet.
- Bring back X's Death Race mode, and expand upon it. I think it'd be cool if they implemented some sort of Burnout-esque crash system.
- Bring back GX's machine editor where you can build your own vehicles from an assortment of parts, and add more customizations (something along the lines of ModNation Racers would be awesome)
- Introduce a custom track editor that players can go crazy with and publish online
- Introduce new track designs (pipe, cylinder, corkscrew, etc.) and hazards (mines, magnetic walls, jump pads, etc.)
- Finally (and it's a bit difficult for me to explain this well in words), I think it would really push it over the top if they could bring back the comic book/manga artwork style used in X and GP Legend, and further stylize it in a way that really captures the intense speed of the game and makes it look fantastic in HD.
But yeah, I'm a sad panda right now...
I need something new to play to keep me occupied until ARR comes out, but I just don't know what. I don't know of anything out at the moment that's really piqued my interest, sadly.
