I've been doing it your way Kaisha and I got him to around 45%. Well I was rolling to the side his sword was raised. It works until he decides to go combo crazy on my face or do that soulsucker move. I think I lost 3 souls to him so far. Gonna give it another shot and get my souls back while im at it. I have a little over 100k just from running back to die to him lol. Can I use evacuate on boss rooms?

Gonna try your way next Souj. I haven't used any of the boss' souls so I definitely have it on my storage guy.

Just finished up ZoE1 (Platinum), first time playing it, glad its finally over with so I can move on to the goodness that is ZoE2. Side note, but A ranking 2nd rescue mission in ZoE1 was such a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch

So I finally started up Dark Souls and it is amazing. I feel like I have stories for days and I haven't even been playing that long.

I got to the church and I had missed the steps going to the bell so I ran down some steps and found the most awesome blacksmith ever. He is massive. I ended up in some forest where I wandered down to a lake and fought some crystal golems. There was a hydra shooting water bombs at my face so I ran back up the mountain where for the next 2 hours I just wandered the word.

I went through a fog gate because I assumed the way to the bell was through there and this giant butterfly is tossing spears at me. I got it about 25% of the way down then got 1 shotted by a spear. I decided to head back to the church where I found the steps to the bell and cursed at the game for a good 5 minutes lol.

Get to a fog gate and summon Solaire. He runs into the boss fight with me and starts tossing lightning at the thing. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. That got me so pumped for the fight. I pull out my bow and manage to knock out his tail and get an axe from it. Another gargoyle comes out of nowhere and we take them both out no problem. I get a crest from Solaire and finally ring the bell.

tl;dr Dark Souls is amazing. I love this game.

Been playing Chrono Cross again. Been forever, and had to go back a few hours b/c I didn't recruit Glenn. Totally worth it, X-Strike rapes everything. Got Kid back finally so my party is good for a while.

Anyone here able to recommend Rogue Legacy? It sounds interesting and fun and the gameplay doesn't look bad and I do love Roguelikes (though this is a "rogue-lite")
but the videos I've seen of it doesn't really sell me on the $15 price point.

I've been watching lots of lets plays on Rogue Legacy. Mostly Northernlion and RockLeeSmiles videos. I really wanted to buy it when I first started watching them. I still do want to buy it.

It has a set path as far as progression goes and I even think gear is found in the same areas each time. Once you max out your castle though I don't see there being anything that would keep you playing. Once you beat the bosses you cant refarm them. At 8 hours and nothing to really go back for I cant justify the $15 tag. Looks like tons of fun though.

I put 20 hours in to it but I did not pay a penny, so feel free to take with a grain of salt. Personally I feel it is worth $15, but mileage may vary. I'm on NG+3 (yeah, it gets harder each time) now and pretty much done with it. If you have an aversion to grinding you won't enjoy it but if you like grindan and Castlevania you will not be able to put it down. If you're not sold on the concept of it I'd say wait for a sale. You'll definitely get your moneys worth for $7.50-$10.

Paid $2 for Binding of Isaac and I've played nearly 200hours of that so far and still play it from time to time. Best money to time ratio I've ever had of anything in my life ever.

I played them in original format. As I recall, one was great, two was forgettable, or vice-versa (it was 15 years ago...)

Fighter has a move or two that is "invincible" during the attack. I can't remember which, I think Dragon's Maw might be the main one.
You'll kick ass when you get that, but you'll STILL have the problem of attacking flying stuff or certain enemies like the Ur-Dragon. Fighter and Warrior are awesome except for those crucial range issues.

I was reading about the other vocations and that was the conclusion I came to as well. The one thing that concerns me is that I just charge right in and it said the Assassin has defense along the same levels as the Strider. So that's troublesome.

Also started playing Catherine the other day for shits and giggles. Weird fucking game. Entertaining(at least worth the 10 bones I dropped for it) but I find Vincent reactions to everything just plain dumb. Yeah yeah suspension of reality and all that but come on.
