Started playing State of Decay on XBL. Not terrible. It's a single player Day Z but with a home base that you upgrade etc. Not great, but fairly entertaining. If it were multi player people would be flocking to it. Spend most of my time scavenging for food.
Star Ocean IV. Cardian Mothership.
Fuck this dungeon and the barriers.
Kuishen, just die.
Yay!
I've been trying to get into Dark Souls but I have no idea what I'm doing and no direction. I have Mass Effect trilogy to go through and have been playing The Last of Us but I'm tired of guns at the moment. Any suggestions for a ps3 rpg type game that doesn't look like anime(besides any TES game)?
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a pretty good time. It's definitely not perfect but climbing on monsters and stabbing them in the face makes up for a lot of its issues.
Can probably find it for pretty cheap too, it's 40 new so used copies would likely be dirt cheap.
It includes all of the original game in the offchance you didn't know. I still need to pick the damn thing up myself as it sounds right up my alley. Just been really lazy with my PS3 the past month after clearing Sleeping Dogs/Spec Ops fully. I should take this downtime to download Deus Ex:HR/Saint's Row 3 though from PS+ since I've been wanting to play those for awhile now.
As for Star Ocean 4, I paid $10 for that and it still felt too expensive, lol. Battle mode is kinda fun, but holy crap, one of the few games where I opted for the Japanese voice-overs because the English dub was so bad.
Spoiler: show
Is Dark Arisen a code that comes with the original game when you buy? i.e. is it worth a butt if you buy used?
Its an entirely different package, its the original game with some fixes/improvements to the existing stuff + 15ish hours of new content.
Edit : I think if you own the original you can get the dark arisen content for cheaper thru PlayStation store/ Xbox Live, but not 100% on that.
I didn't know it was the first+more so thanks for that.
I bought that shit at full price when I got my 360.
Yeah I'm salty. As for the voice acting, yeah. 3's issue wasn't so much the voice acting but that there were these painfully long pauses as the game was loading the next voice clip. Conversations in 3 had more dead air than a goddamn graveyard, but 4 was just all around bad.
I feel for ya then. I opted for the CGI portraits on the PS3's 'upgraded' port also. The anime ones felt out of place among the visuals portrayed.
I never did beat SO3. I accidentally saved past a point of no return (thanks for not warning me game) late into the game past the 'twist', and was at a spot where I can't buy new meds or backtrack some, and there's a boss ahead that just wrecks my crew. I wouldn't mind a port of it to Vita as an excuse to start from scratch, but that'll never happen.
What boss are you stuck on in SO3? That game is the tits so if I can help a nig properly experience the ending. The ending kinda nulls the "twist" and really makes me wonder why people are still mad about it.
