Poor phrasing. I agree though 3's gameplay is the best. I was basically implying how do you go from best to worst. I was just like "wait what?" cause it seems like we should be bros cause we're both in the minority on that opinion as well as liking FF8.

I forget any specifics, other than it's in that large building, and it involves two guys at once, one of which I believe liked to jump in the air and fire rockets at you or something to that effect.

I also didn't grind much in the game or do any optional stuff, so I'm probably under-lvl'd to boot. Been so long since I touched the game that I'm probably better off restarting from scratch anyhow.

Recently got Syndicate for $5 on PC. Kind of disappointing considering all the reviews only criticized the multi and the single is so unenjoyable...

I won a 3 month PS+ sub from gamespot last month, so I got a few of the free games there:

Sleeping dogs is disappointing due to it's desire to be a kung fu game rather than a GTA knockoff...
JP indi games are more art than game...
Xcom is taking forever to download on something that can't be used during DL...
    Consoles are junk...
P.S. Uncharted 3 takes more space than some PS3 models were sold with...
P.P.S. anyone know how to fix broken game installs so they don't take up HDD space that crashes the system when you try to delete it (thanks alot redbox and your garbage customer base returning discs with holes in them)?

Just watched some gameplay of kingdoms of amalur reckoning and it looks right up my alley. Anyone have a ps3 copy they want to sell to me for cheap?

Found Starfox Adventure at a used game store in Chicago last week. Did not realize it was made by Rare. Turned it on and heard so many familiar sounds from Jet Force Gemini..

Just picked up the "new" Hitman for 5$. Was a deal I could not pass up. I am not super far into it, but it has been a lot of fun so far. Now I just need to get a "friend" to send and play some contracts with.

Found out the hard way that if I swing my new weapon in town and accidentally hit someone it costs me 5k gold to get out jail in Dragon's Dogma. Kind of gay. Also ran into my first dragon. A little one that was hanging out with a mini army of goblins and hobgoblins. But it glitched and went above the treeline and wouldn't land or engage after a few minutes. I was sad. Also, fuck ogres. They suck.

Good to know that, since I've been dicking about in town. Just picked up Dragon's Dogma the other night, put a couple hours in. Enjoying the exploration/combat. Game has a pretty bad tutorial though, since it only seems to tell you shit after you figure it out yourself.

Started off being a dagger/bow user. Hope pawns aren't stupid as I got Rook on damage duty, and my mage user......to do whatever mage AIs do I guess. Is there a point where you're free to do what you want? I've been going location to location and just 100%ing the quests as I see them currently.

You can pretty much wander wherever you want after you escort the caravan to the main city, there will be a few blocked off areas but most of the world is open at that point. You'll get your ass handed to you in a lot of those areas though.

And yes the AI for your companions is pretty much braindead. There's no effective way to make a character focus solely on archery for example, they'll still try to run up and melee from time to time. And they'll spend a lot of time just standing around doing nothing. When I started a new game recently I ended up grabbing a friends level 80 or so companion (since they're free if they're on your friend list), and despite the fact they can one shot most things I run across, they'll maybe end up killing at most or two things cause they're just standing around talking and running in circles.

That's most likely due to the fact you're picking pawns with shitty inclinations.

I've been trying out the Warrior class at the moment. My main pawn is a Ranger. I've tried to keep the other two pawns as a tank and magic user. It took me a bit to realize that the "rented" pawns don't level up with you. So I was level 18 running around with 2 pawns that were level 9. Which looking back, might have been the reason the ogres were a bitch to kill.

Playing stealth inc(Wish they kept the original name), so far it's a blast and I'll probably switch to either Mario and Luigi or Dragon's Crown (We should get US version on Sunday)once I'm done.

Still playing Chrono Cross. At Viper Manor again and stumbled upon this

Sigh... Nostalgia. Why can't SE remake CT? I want that more than the FFVII remake everyone else seems to want.

Not really "what I am playing" as much as "what should I be playing."
Just bought a 3DS. What games should I get?
    Games that I've at least shown interest in are;

Monster Hunter 3. Is it playable on 3ds? I've never ever played a monster hunter game and would like to try it, but if it's not a great experience on the 3ds...
Donkey Kong Country. Haven't played a donkey kong game since I think the original donkey kong countries.
Fire Emblem. Though I'm not too much interested in tactic fighting games.
    FF Theaterryhtm
    Tales of the Abyss
Shin Megami Tensai {insert number here} no idea what these games are but I've heard good things? or at least a very loud but small group of people love these games.
And Mario games, I guess? Haven't played a Mario game since Super Marios Bros 3, aside from a few minutes of Galazy and wasn't a huge fan of that.

Monster Hunter 3 is definitely playable on the 3DS, I've played every single title and it only took me an hour or so to get used to the 3DS controls. Having a Circle Pad Pro makes it easier, but isn't necessary.

The only Donkey Kong games I've played were the SNES trilogy and 64. I absolutely adored Returns.

Fire Emblem is a fantastic game and addition to the Fire Emblem series. And it's very accessible to newer players.

Theatrhythm is tons of fun if you enjoy rhythm games, it also includes a lot of unlockables if you're into that. If you're a fan of FF's music you'll love it even more.

I haven't played Tales of the Abyss, but I hear it's the definitive version of the game.

There're 3 SMT titles on the 3DS so far.

They all share the same basic premise of obtaining demons and fusing those demons to get more powerful ones.

Devil Survivor Overclocked: This game's a mix between a tactical RPG coupled with first-person battles. Plenty of replayability due to the multiple endings. Definitely on the easier side of SMT games.

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers: Enhanced port of the 1997 Sega Saturn game. Completely first person, more of a dungeon crawler. It hasn't aged very well, but if you go in with the right mindset and expectations, you won't be dissapointed.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: I still haven't really sat down and played this too much yet, but so far I'm really loving it. It definitely captures the feeling of the older SMT titles. A bit on the difficult side in that it's very unforgiving.

Only Mario game I've played is 3D Land and that was a great game, one of the few where I actually used the 3D effect on my 3DS all the way through the game. It is more similar to the 3D Mario games than it is the 2D ones, so take that as you will.

Got Defiance on PS3 for $20.

Boy do I love long installs and having to update everything before I can play.

Just to add on to this a bit:

3DS Tales of the Abyss has no additional content over the PS2 version. I believe the only really "big deal" was that they fixed (i hope) lag on outdoor battles. They aren't very frequent in the original, and are easily avoidable for the most part. I think the "superior" version here would be emulating the PS2 version for enhanced graphics.

Theathrythm is full of DLC bullshit, and there's an IOS release which has more songs than the 3ds version. I think the IOS version is free, but has only a handful of songs, and you have to buy them, whereas the 3ds comes with a decent amount. Personally, if I had an ios device (I don't), I'd just pirate the ios version.

Just my nitpicks. If this stuff doesn't bother you, then don't let it bother you. TotA is a GREAT game, and if you haven't played it yet I highly recommend doing so. Theathrythm is more for nostalgiaing.

I've played worse and I'm enjoying it right now. Also just noticed it dropped to $10 base price on steam now. Son of a bitch.
