Just got Dynasty Warriors 8 from gamefly, oh man this brings back such good memories. Though I read there's lag issues on the 360 version? I haven't encountered them yet but is that a real problem?

also playing a little Tales of Eternia on psp, having to play in short doses but it's been one of the few RPGs I've actually been able to stick with recently

Tales of Eternia is Tales of Destiny 2 right? If so it has to be one of the best and most complete games Ive ever played. Probably my favorite game after Suiko1/2.

As for myself Ive been playing Mount & Blade: Warband and my god is it a time sink. Ill sit down and have 3+ hours fly past me.

Can't choose between playing Grandia or Star Ocean I and II. Have never played either, but so far I think I will be going with Grandia. Reminds me a lot of Lunar.

Grandia has a lot more charm to it imo. Expect a bit of slowdown running areas on the PS1 version though.

Never did play the PSP remake of SO1, anyone know how faithful it is to the SNES original?

Faithful in what sense? Story and such? I couldn't say... but the gameplay isn't even close.
Its like a slightly different SO2.

imo: SO3 > SO1 remake > SO2 > SO2 Remake > SO4
Its a good game.

Looks like the Star Ocean PSP remakes are after Grandia. I hope these don't disappoint.

They're all great games, it doesn't matter what you play first because they're fantastic. I played SO2 more than all the others, but Grandia has special nostalgia powers on me.

I know but I always have trouble picking which to play over which, but the general consensus seems to be: lots of love for Grandia.

Faithful in basically being SO1 translated into SO2 graphics, but given the gameplay was changed, guess that's out of the boat. A shame Square Enix is horrible at maintaining their PS1/PSP library on PSN, as I wouldn't mind playing it on my Vita.

Currently dicking with Gods Eater Burst at any rate. Not sure what I think about it other than being glad I don't have to claw on it courtesy of mapping d-pad to right stick. Also got back to Max Payne 3, nearly beat it, and still not quite liking it.

SO1 remake is basically SO1 with SO2 graphics and gameplay. The "inbetween areas" have been replaced with a world map, which kinda sucks, but eh.

Still playing Dragon's Dogma. Just killed the Daimon in Dark Arisen for the first time. That was pretty fucking cool. Didn't even have to resort to using the cheap blast arrow strategy.
