Is there a "noob friendly" character? Parasoul makes fighting that one girl that stands by and shoots skulls/etc. I get beat down hard since if I get knocked back even with dashing I feel like I take too many hits.
Anyway, bought Duke Nuke 3D. I miss when FPS were more maze-like like Duke, Wolfenstien, and Doom were.
Just got home and tried Last of Us. It's interesting, but I got a serious question...
How the hell do you aim in this game? By the time I get a shot lined up they already duck for cover or shoot me.
Aim faster? I never had an issue with aiming at all.
Maybe I just suck with analog since I haven't touched a shooter on a console in 10+ years.
It's really damned depressing, I'm not playing anything. There's just not enough hours in the day. I run my own ffxi server, and don't even have time to play on that, just fix misc bugs. I have 2 ps3's, 3 ps vita's, wii, ipad, and a supercomputer with 4 28" monitors. But with so much life going on, I just don't get a chance.
I had both Infamous 1 & 2 sitting around unopened but decided I wanted to mow them down since Second Son looks really cool...fun games to play if not repetitive, 2 seems like just 1 with a really nice polish.
Bought second PS4/WIIU and BF4 for my wife. We had plans to play online together after she finishes the single player, but of course the save data had to get corrupted (FUCK YOU EA).
I guess we'll be playing 3D world/W101/Mario bro for the time being.
Spoiler: show
Finished Atelier Ayesha. Probably enjoyed that one more due to the somewhat lenient time restrictions and me not looking at FAQs to perfect everything.
Still at a stopping point in Meruru.
Started playing Star Ocean 4 again but.. eh.
Got to my first stealth fight in Last of Us where I have to take out 4 screamers and 1 clicker. I can get the first 2 screamers easy, but when I try to sneak up on something else to try and strangle I alert the other 3 and sure enough the clicker rips my neck open.
I tried out the new Deus Ex tonight. Didn't make it two hours before I turned that off. Who thought that putting a time limit in place on the first level you're allowed to explore was a good idea? So angry I turned the game off and picked up Dino D-Day instead. That game's premise and intro trailer are way better than the time I wasted on Deus Ex.
Are you mentally handicapped? It's a hostage situation, what part of that makes you think you can take your time if you want to save them? It's not even required to do so either.
EDIT: Oh, it's the same retard from the Breath of Fire 6 thread. Disregard.
Dino D-Day would be great if anybody played it.
Late to the party, but picked up Metal Gear Rising, ignoring my staggering backlog in the process.
Played two hours on normal difficulty, and am pretty damn well enjoying it. Primarily getting B grades so far as I get familiar with parrying and dealing with the annoying camera. Blew all my points on new skills that looked handy. No clue if I'll ever S-rank all of Revengeance difficulty. Will see how much upgrades help my general score when I get more of them.
Are you a fucking idiot? Why punish the player for exploring the first level you're allowed to go exploring in a series that's known for rewarding exploration?
"Oh no it's a hostage situation, get to the helicopter" just means "when you want to progress to the next area get to the helicopter", it's just objective marking so the player doesn't wander aimlessly forever. I don't understand how they managed to fuck this up. They give you a level that screams "explore me, find all my secrets", and then kick the player in the balls for doing exactly that.
rofl Or it means, stop dicking around people's lives are at stake, you can explore Sarif Industries anytime since that and the city is the main hub for the first half of the game. You decided to not take a HOSTAGE SITUATION seriously.
You're dumb.
You can decide not to like the game, even though it's one of the best games to come out in the last 5 years, but you're current reasoning for doing so is stupid and invalid.
The game decided to let you use your own common sense instead of holding your hand like a child every step of the way and you failed at picking up the various cues that you needed to not take your sweet time.
Playing the Bravely Default demo and loving it. It was extremely punishing and a bit confusing at first until you learn how to really use the battle system. Really excited for February and the fact that some of the progress made in the demo carries over to the full release (a few items, villagers, etc.) is great.
Being opinionated does not make me wrong or "dumb". The cues given all fell in line with the design of countless other games I've played, only this time it flipped the thing on its head. It was a poor design choice.
I'll admit that the game does get better now that I'm 11 hours into it, but it still has issues and pales in comparison to the original Deus Ex.
Tried playing Far Cry 3 Co-Op with a friend. After an hour of us trying god-knows-what to join each others private lobby we said screw it.
The Last of Us is all about taking advantage of your environment and tracking enemy movements. There are specific blind spots that allow you to lure over a mob by tossing out a bottle or brick. If this is the area I remember, it took me numerous tries to finally find a pattern that worked. If you can, you may want to toss a bottle or brick and hide (there usually are a ton in each stealth area) and see how the mobs move back to their original pathing points. I had to do this and sneak up on mobs and grab them halfway back to their pathing point to then continue to pick them off one by one.
Which I normally do, but this was when I was in the downtown area and had to clear out all 5 of the infected to progress. Thankfully I found a walkthrough for that bit.
