Well I did beat it in a span of a few days, on top of work and school. Ultima weapon actually gave me some trouble because I drew Ultima spells, and he kept spamming light pillar (1 hit k.o), Gravija (3/4 HP), and constantly picking them off with his attacks after casting it. The game is fucking cake because 1 Lion Heart and anything is dead. Omega Weapon is a joke if you use Laguna's card for 100 heros and spam Aura/Meltdown/Renzokuken/Duel rinse repeat. That's how I defeated him the first time, it felt extremely cheap. I attempted him later without them and got extremely lucky that Phoenix revived me, and I was on a non stop limit break adrenaline rush, it was one of the most intense FF battles ever. I am going to attempt this again.

Having a blast with the card game in FF8 now that I understand it. I'm 10 hours into it and I just finished the first beach mission thing. I don't know how to explain it. Drawing magic isn't too big a deal and I love learning abilities from the GFs. Overall, I think FF8 is an interesting game... the story short-circuits my brain a little but meh. I'll definitely pick up FF9 if SE puts it on steam. that's my favorite FF

Triple Triad is so good it became it's own game. Anyone know if the android version is any good? Looks cool anyway.

Only thing I found hard in VIII was getting Odin and getting that damn alien to spawn. Also, Blitzball > Triple Triad. I still pop in FFX time to time just to play it.

I'll admit Triple Triad was a little fun before the goddamned random rule started circulating. But fuck IX's version. To this day I still don't fully understand it and I've played MTG since Tempest.

When it comes to card mini games, I still think Xenosaga had the best. My Matthews deck was unstoppable.

Triple Triad was definitely tons more fun than Blitzball. I literally stopped everything once I got an airship to fly around and collect rare cards in VIII. I think I tried Blitzball once when it was mandated and never looked back.

Couldn't get into IX's version of it though. I think that had more to do with the fact that I recently beat it last year instead of like 8+ years ago when I had the time to waste playing VIII.

Getting the right rules set spread around was half (OK maybe like 1/10th) the fun.

Alot of people get turned off from 8 because they remember having to spend a million years drawing magic instead of the way faster and far more entertaining method of converting cards.

I got used to that, but the other elements and the story were just bleh.

Anyway, tried LoL at a LAN today, definitely not a game I think I'll be getting into anytime soon. I canlt play MOBAs worth a shit.

Just defeated Omega Weapon before heading off to work right now, and goddamn this was an intense fight. He has auto-haste just like you do, all random powerful as fuck attacks, it's never the same. He hit me with Terra break relentlessly, I only had 2 heros to work with, Squall's wore off instantly, and I thought I was screwed. All I can say is Quistis Mighty Guard is a goddamn godsend, auto-haste, shell, protect, and float all in one. I kept using this, triple casting Aura's, Meltdown's, Duel and Renzokuken. Ironically, I only was able to do Lion Heart one time, Zell's Duel's really chipped most of the damage. I didn't even bother trying to summon Eden, would take way too long and she would probably get one shotted. I didn't even plan on winning this attempt at all, I was just attempting. Unfortunately I didn't record it, but since I have the strategy figured out, he isn't as much as a threat. With Mighty Guard there is a good chance 1 person will survive Terra Break, because that's what happened, so either I was really lucky or IDK. Going to attempt again when I get off work and capture it.

Got hype w/ DkS2 trailers so I started a new Dark Souls playthrough, with:

and Aggressive Enemies / NG+1 enemies on first playthrough.

Changes everything about how you play the game, almost feels like the playing the game for the first time again. Died like 6 or 7 times trying to get to the parish bonfire, lol.

Just beat Bioshock Infinite. Ending was great, but it reminded me of Stephen King's The Dark Tower ending a little. Not that it's a bad thing. Game was extremely enjoyable. I'll still say The Last of Us was game of the year, but this indeed was a close second.

Finally, someone that beats Ultima without GF spam or abusing Zell's Punch Rush + Booya infinite. I did it with Squall Selphie and Irvine and actually got The End against him on my very first playthough. Kind of felt robbed when all my friends kept saying how hard the fight was lol.

I honestly thought it was over when I finally got a Lion Heart, fucker counters with Terra Break and nearly kills everyone. I can't stress enough, Quistis Mighty Guard blue magic is so fucking amazing, if you get lucky you can get float, aura, shell, haste, and protect all in one for the whole party. I didn't realize this until nearly the end of the fight, which is why I kept casting pointless aura, and haste skills. But YMMV with Mighty Guard, all those awesome buffs are not all guaranteed, I think it depends on how low her HP is.
