At first RE6's controls felt awkward, now I'm doing all kinds of shit. Diving/rolling in all directions, performing criticals, doing cool feats unbeknownst to RE like: running straight to a group of mobs -> slide -> plant a bomb -> continue to slide -> detonate said bomb whilst sliding. Fighting a Leather Face type of boss, explosions everywhere, sometimes exploring quiet little towns overrun by zombies, riding vehicles, planes falling from the skies, stealth around this submarine, fighting death itself; holy shit this game is something else. Having a shitton of fun w/ it.
Yeah never got the hate for RE6, it's pretty great overall and co-op is fun as fuck. Only complaint I had was Ada's campaign being complete shit co-op.
Pretty much agree. I think I posted it here somewhere a while back, but a friend and I marathon'd all the REs (he had never played 1-3+CV, and 6 was new to both), and RE6 was just as fun as the rest.
A friend of mine just told me Hearthstone was out on iOS so I downloaded that last night. First time using a battle.net account since the days of Diablo II/LoD. I just created a new one thinking my old one would have been deleted.
Since I have a battle.net account I may see if I can run Diablo III and Starcraft II on the laptop. Otherwise it'll be Hearthstone on my iPad for a while![]()
Right, after RE:CV/RE3, it was no longer about zombies. Hey at least Wesker wont be around for the shit storm.
Currently? DayZ and getting ready to pick up SP:SOT. Really wanting to play FF14 but I can't justify the monthly fee with everything going on right now.
Got back into Persona 4 and just started December.
Also did Episode 3 of The Wolf Among Us last night. Shit's amazing.
Randomly decided to try out Remember Me. Story wise, it's pretty much a futuristic Bourne movie with a more relatable cast by video game standards. For a female protagonist, the main character surprisingly isn't an over sexualized bag of tropes or the typical cookie-cutter strong independent woman you see in a lot of female leads. She's uncertain and vulnerable which allows room for character development. Very important for such a story driven game.
The combat is very fluid and fun, leaving room for experimentation with the combo lab system. You can add different effects for you combos like life drain, armor breaking, reducing special skill cooldowns and even buffs to the previously mentioned. To the passer by, it looks like all you're doing is 3-4 different combos, but those combos dictate your entire character build and playstyle. My only complaint is that there isn't any real risk and reward for the different combinations you unlock like attacks that range from short windups for minor damage to telegraphed attacks for massive damage. Some of the preset animations can be a bit awkward when you chain them together uninterrupted but you'll rarely notice late game when you're constantly vaulting over enemies since the AI likes to swarm you.
The parkour can be hit or miss at times. It's not like I was going in expecting Mirror's Edge quality or anything, but this is like Call of Battlefield singleplayer simplicity. You can see little hints of what could have been in earlier episodes as the first few of these segments follow that Mega Man level design formula. Instead you get Demon's Soul's styled beacons that lead you to each step of what you need to traverse over with very little room for exploration, let alone figuring things out yourself.
Memory remixing is epic. You start off with a cutscenes that you have to physically edit to produce a different outcome, rewriting a given character's memory to believe what you want them to believe for your personal benefit. There's a lot of trial and error as you'll have to test out a different combination of changes in the given surroundings like flicking a light switch or moving a table. My only complaint is that you don't get too many chances to do this and the times you would expect to do so are just simple cutscenes.
Last but not least, the music is phenomenal! Outside of being associated with John Williams, I don't know much about Olivier Deriviere. I think he worked on one of the Assassin's Creed games, but he really outdid himself here. The sound clipping is immaculate, adding to game's overall cinematic experience. I'd recommend surround sound or headphones for maximum effect.
I'll probably be playing this one for a while. I might even get the combo lab DLC at some point. But since this is a Capcom game, is it really DLC?
Edit: So basically, all you get is a spinning bird kick, flash kick, and shoryuken animations for you combos for $3.99. Yeah, fuck that.
Ride To Hell: Retribution. Got it for five bones just to see how awful it is. It's amazingly terrible. Worst game I've ever played lol. Totally worth the five dollars though.
Finished December in Persona 4 Golden and took a bit of time off. Got the English dub and text patches for Ys IV: Dawn of Ys and been giving that a shot
Been addicted to CS:GO. Up to Gold Nova 1 now in ranking, been playing exclusively Dust 2 because I can't be arsed to learn all the ins-and-outs of another map. I will eventually but for now I'm just having fun.
Also been playing some Path of Exile on the new hardcore league. On my 4th character now and he's lasted all the way through Act 1, my build is about to finally come together so it shouldn't be as dangerous from now on. Hopefully will beat the game this time. Like 6 months ago I died before the final boss in the old hardcore league and that kinda put me off playing for a while but game is fun and I love dat build customization.
Finally downloaded and tried X-Com: Enemy Unknown and quickly became addicted. Bought the color pack to give some money to the developer (game was free with PS+). Gonna buy Enemy Within (expansion pack) if I can find a new copy just to toss some more money at Firaxis.
Should have just bought Enemy Within to start with. I can't tell you how many days I've lost to that game. It's up there with Valkyria Chronicles for me. Could play them nonstop.
Watched my friend doing the PVP a few weeks ago, pretty intense when it comes to turn based strategy. It's pretty funny watching both sides go into battles of attrition and abusing the hell out of over watch.
FUCK.
Just died in PoE. Made it to level 31. I might try a different build to give me something fresh but god dammit.
I'm so fucking salty atm.
Dead Nation on vita is prty good
Yugioh: Millennium Duels and Titanfall for 360.
Both very good and fun games!
