i shall be in a few weeks
oh snap, fellow vita. nice
I really need a localization confirmation for EDF2 V2. Ever since I decided to see how EDF2017 looked on my PSTV I've been playing it pretty much every day since. Still the best bro-op game the system has currently, and the weapons keep getting crazier as I advance the difficulty levels. No game has more satisfying looking smoke trails on rockets.![]()
Double Action: Boogaloo
Holy shit this game is crazy like I'm mother fucker John Woo up in this bitch.
3DS - Bravely Default (yes, I'm just now getting the game, I'm SO behind the times)
PS2 - True Crime: Streets of LA (decided to go a little old school)
To be honest, you didn't miss much with BD. Returns to FF job system roots, gives a good traditional game, and a great outlook on potential for the future. But overall the game kinda killed itself with the way it plays out by the end.
Hoping BD2 does what we're all thinking it will do.
I look at BD the same way I do FFV.
The mechanics and some of the fights are great and that's all I need.
I'd say you are, in fact, missing out by not playing it. Not missing out on a good story or anything but these are video games, not video books. Enjoy yourself.
I think the game turned me off when I realized how easy it is to break the game with some very simple combos. The only alternative would be to limit myself from getting those abilities, which degrades the overall experience. This is why I like a lot of the Tales games and the way difficulty works in them--at higher levels of difficulty, even though the difficulty increases are in most cases just stat buffs for mobs, you still have to know what exactly is going to break through guards and properly deal with different mobs (and at those higher levels, you get punished worse than lower ones for making mistakes). Plus, you've got the actually input things properly have a certain level of player skill.
In BD... You just do the same thing over and over again and it always works with the exception of maybe some of those Village whatever bosses with dumb mechanics. I'd have been happier if certain things didn't end up overpowered and others extremely underwhelming.
Still, yes, good game, but honestly if you're just now getting around to it, your playtime is probably pretty limited and there's most likely another gem sitting around that will give you more value.
Imma just say it, fuck VP:DS. I don't even remember what exactly pissed me off but fuck it anyway.
It wasn't VP2 and didn't build off much. I fucking love VP2 (and Lenneth) but the fact that the new one was on the DS stopped me greatly from even wanting to play it. VP1 to 2 was a huge upgrade, but this...eh.
Negative nanciesssss
Game is glorious. But I'm in the "I don't like VP2" camp so...
VP1 is still probably on all of ours Top Ten jRPG list though I'm sure.
Started Miner in Fantasy Life but didn't get too far since I had a TF2 match.
Also thinking of coming back to XIV, but it's mostly a back and forth thing.
Finished the 4th arc in MGS4 and all I can say is...
1) Holy crap the nostalgia of revisiting Shadow Moses
2) Kojima needs to make an actual game where you pilot Metal Gear REX. That shit was fun during the REX/RAY fight.
