I felt like Suikoden: Tierkreis was a little on the long side for a handheld game, I think I logged about 60 hours when I was all done and usually I like handhelds to clock in around 40-50, so by the end of teh game I was skipping dialogue like crazy. It's probably just me but there were a few characters in tierkreis I could honestly care less about, although I should probably reserve judgment until I play another suikoden game.

Have you considered/played Avalon Code? I played about 15-30 mins of it when it first came out and really liked the customization, now in light of Nostalgia coming out I want to see how good Matrix Software is at making their own games.

Come to think of it, I'm stopped playing Ico about halfway through too :<

I downloaded Avalon Code at one point but got overwhelmed by the games that were around, I think I actually deleted it to make room (I need a new hard drive lol)

I should get it again though, I heard it was good. maybe when I finally finish a game, heh.

The gimmick behind Avalon Code was neat, but I didn't get far enough in to say how good the story was or how deep the gameplay actually went. Maybe I'll play it soon too, lol.

I'm constantly fighting the urge to play other things too, maybe if I end up playing Persona 4 next I'll mix in something for a handheld so im not going directly from one 90+ hr RPG into another.

But since this one uses SO2's more bearable system, I'm giving it another go!
I beat the DeJap translation of the original, but I definitely prefer the SO2-ized remake.

Also, even though it's just an enhanced port, The Second Evolution is awesome as well.

I actually heard the gimmick gets really annoying later in the game when you have so much crap in your book that it takes forever to sort through. so it becomes a double-edged sword. dunno if that's true though.

I think that's my problem, I'm always playing too many RPGs lol that shit just wears on you after a while. sometimes I think I neglect my need for twitch gaming, and end up overdosing so hard on RPGs that I get sick of games altogether for a while. which is no good of course.

so yeah... go play some Mega Man or something

Would you want to disown me if I said I've never beaten a mega man game before? >_>

There's a bunch of game series that I never got a chance to play growing up, which is probably why I go so nuts with stuff now. I'll get to it all in time!

And I read that about Avalon Code too, from what I played of the game it was pretty obvious that you'd have to use a paper notebook and write down where you kept everything, which is just fine with me since I always use a notebook for RPGs anyway.

haha no, not as long as you've at least played one or two of them... they can be bitches to actually beat, especially when you're young. but most old-school games are like that. I've probably played Mega Man 2 a hundred times and beat it maybe once or twice.

man you really are OCD about games... says the guy who made a spreadsheet for FFXI with several tabs for different ways of analyzing equipment choices (my favorite was the page that listed items in order of cost over the old item vs. improvement on what was already in that slot, made it really easy to decide what to buy next!

Just started playing Thousand Arms today... I haven't played this game in like, 10 years. @_@ I love the music, and the dating system is kinda fun.

Started playing the PC version of Prototype. I still like Infamous overall but this is fun to just mess around with though.

Meh, I played it for about 12hrs and gave it up, the Battle system is fun but the Voice Acting/Characters/Story are shit.

I actually liked the story at first. Seeing as how it's not the typical "stranded on an underdeveloped planet for 90% of the game"-type deal like the other games. You actually get your own spaceship and you travel around to different planets. It's kinda cool.

The story is kinda meh later on, and the voice acting does indeed suck, but I'd say at least rent it to try it out first.

Too much of a backlog of games I'm still making up for from grad school. . plus the new ones I keep buying. Right now, I'm alternating between:

DS: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 (which is oddly addicting:
    360: Tales of Vesperia
    PS2: Devil Summoner 2.

Since I'm too lazy to Ebay some things, I'm probably going to go on a massive trade in spree at Gamestop eventually.

Also someone give me another Castlevania game that's good.

Street Fighter 4. Though every time I try to have an online match, it gives me people with horrible connections, and even trying those fights is nothing but frustration.

SO4 is great if you like SO and know what to expect (as in, mediocre story/character and great battle systems). Having a good time playing it through now, luckily I got all the character endings so I won't have to do more runs just to get them. Although unlike all the other SO games, I doubt I'll play on anything higher than normal mode.
