I honestly don't know how to feel about the game. On one hand yes the gameplay was amazing and it blew me away, but on the other it was short and felt more liked a glorified demo more than an actual game.

Too bad I can't really play it that well on my PC. Friend told me a Raedon HD 6800 series is pretty bad for a game of this caliber. Wouldn't really surprise me since I did have to turn down a lot of settings just to make it through the intro cutscene without it stuttering like hell after Chico gets his cassette player back.

Did you do all the side missions? Unlock Gray Fox as the quiz was my favorite part of the game. The Journals are amazing though, I hope they add something like that in Phantom Pain.

As for that crazy song in Peace Walker. Listening to the Journal sheds more light on it and my favorite part of the game is the following scene where the melody of that song is slowed down on a piano.

    Spoiler: show

Nah, I was thinking about it, but since it's the same map and this game loves to stutter like hell on my PC in intense situations, dunno how effective it would me.

Have been thinking of going back to MGS1 though. Just because of how addicting the Encounter song is. Which is ironic since you DON'T want to get caught.

Playing Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, man did I ever miss out. It was between this and getting Mega Man Zero Collection which has all 3 games in one DS cart. Pretty sure I will just end up finishing Castlevania by the time a week has gone by to swap it.

All of the GBA and DS Castlevania games are real good, so make sure to check out the rest too if you haven't already. DoS is probably my least favourite because of the touch screen bullshit, although the soul system is probably still the best system they've ever done.

Ultra NES Remix is giving me issues. On one hand, I'm getting to use all of my old tricks to blow through challenges. On the other hand, people on the leaderboards are smoking me and I don't know how to shave seconds off of my times. I'M THE BEST AT ZELDA 2, STOP PROVING ME WRONG ASSHOLES.

Buddy got my Rogue Legacy for Christmas. It's pretty fun for a little time waster. I'm like level 40 or something, can't even beat the first boss.

Really? I haven't run into that many situations where it was absolutely necessary, but I guess I still have a ways to go, I like to explore every single pixel.

Huh? Don't you have to do it for literally every boss fight and then some?

I see it more often and expanding now, I didn't mind it much when it was just a simple check mark lol. I love all the different powers, I really wish they would still make Castlevania games like this one, it's a fucking blast and love the equipment/ability set swap. Genius.

I spotted Tales of the Abyss (3DS) for a good price and picked it up, I haven't played it since it's release on PS2. So far I have to admit, they did a lot better than I thought they would. Just sucks they have those awkward and voiceless skits that are timed to advance when the original voice acting finishes. My only complaints are that the volume is so low. I know 3DS's volume in general fucking sucks but this is too fucked. Head phones do not help, when you have the volume half way, it almost seems mute. I know Mieu is an annoying and embarassing little shit that you wouldn't want anyone within a 300 mile radius to hear, but doesn't mean the rest of the game has to pay for it. The battles feels slower, maybe it's because it's the start of the game. Again last time I was playing I pretty much did all the end game stuff. But I don't remember if leveling up make your characters faster over time, but I know Guy was easily the fastest and one of the best characters to control.

Were they originally voiced on the PS2? I've only played the 3ds port, but the skits being timed fucked with the pacing of the game for me because they take forever to go through their lines, and there's so many skits. Thank god for Hearts R letting you mash through it at your own reading pace regardless of voice-overs.

As for Castlevania games, all three on the DS were pretty ace, even with the environment repetition in Portrait of Ruin. Doesn't hurt to play Aria of Sorrow on the GBA if you liked Dawn of Sorrow also. The touch stuffed in DoS never really bothered me since only select areas and the boss glyphs (personally never had a problem tracing them) required it.

A shame it took until Ecclesia for them to drop the 'broad appeal' generic anime portraits and return to the look they had prior.

There wasn't any voice acting for the original PS2 version as well, but someone did patch the JP voice acting to include all of that but when I did try to run it the game would bug out or crash randomly. Makes me wish I had held onto my swap magic modded PS2 to run it flawless. Emulators can be a huge gamble with huge games. I don't want to risk putting a fuck ton of time into Abyss if there is something game breaking. When I replayed SMT: Nocturne on Hard Mode on the emulator, there was a point in the game where a VERY SPECIFIC ladder would NOT prompt me to hit the button the climb down and I was very stuck there. Until I searched and found (thank god) someone posted a fix on such an obscure forum for the emulator. The messed up part was, this was the ONLY problem I had in the game and it almost ruined it about mid way. I tried to do the same for Abyss but could not find anything to help much. I will say though.. $12 dollars for a copy of it to go is not too shabby.

I actually spotted Order of Eclessia inside the mall's gamestop, tomorrow is pay day so I am swooping that gem up as well during work lol.

Fortunately for you, I can confirm that the TotA undub is 100% playable on PCSX2. 100% of all content can be completed without issue.
Did have some issues with Legendia though.

As an aside, yes, the characters' speed is controlled by a stat (which is probably why Guy was the fastest, his is naturally the best but CCores can change all that, and you should do your best to level up as little as possible til you get the good ones)

I don't know why I didn't think of this. I've always wanted to play Abyss and never got to because of some bullshit or other.

Damn, if I had something capable of playing it... I totally would. My laptop sucks too much. I plan on building a machine specifically for Witcher 3's release. Abyss's battle system is fun enough to warrant a replay on the emulator down the road.

You are going to love it. FoFs are the best thing to happen to a Tales battle system and really should have been carried forward.

Abyss isnt bad, but im stuck at a part where i have an "Alternate character" who is underleveled, and i cant beat the boss because that character is forced into your party.Also. order of eclesia is fucking BADASS. I let my girlfriend play that, and she got into gaming just because of that game lol. Its that good. Also i just snagged KoTor 1 and 2 on steam sale as well as witcher 1 and 2 yesterday, my back log is so fucking full
