Picked up Darkest Dungeon off of steam. It's in alpha right now but it doesn't seem like it at all. Pretty awesome RPG-squad-roguelike. Very gothic feel. Really really fun game. Would suggest it.

Neverwinter's closed beta on xbox one.
The only early access game I've touched is Grim Dawn (ARPG from Titan Quest folks) and I generally try to stay away from them, but so many people keep talking up Darkest Dungeon it's getting hard to stay away.
It's rather polished for an early access game. I've already put 17 hours into it since my first post about it. Havn't run into any game-breaking bugs yet or anything. It's a rather RNG based game though so sometimes you'll run into rage-inducing scenarios, for instance I had full torch which reduces the chance to get ambushed and every. single. battle I fought in a dungeon I got ambushed and then all the enemies kept getting crits like crazy which were panicking the fuck out of my squad which then made 2 of em freak the hell out and start to attack themselves or pass their turns and stupid shit was fucking stupid! Thankfully the items I needed to complete the dungeon were all close together and I got the hell out of that fuckhole
So, I heard this again yesterday. Its like a siren song or something 'cause I'm playing Atelier Ayesha again.
Gust games always have good soundtracks but Ayesha's is pure magic.
Oh yeah. Man, the Atelier games have some amazing music.
There's one random map theme in that game that's catchy as hell, too.
Ken Nakagawa's up there with Meguro as one of my favorite game composers.
I really need to get back into the atelier series and play literally all of them. I've only played Totori and Atelier, Atelier of which I absolutely enjoyed so much. I played some of Escha and Logy, but not much. I'll probably just get the vita version of Rorona and Meruru once I finally get the chance to tackle on the series again. But then again, with Shallie coming soon, I'll probably try that out once it releases.
I have a really hard time playing portable games for a long time, but I'm trying to get into the habit of playing them often now. I wanna get Rebirth 2 done with so I can at least finish a playthrough of Tales of Hearts R before Type 0 releases.
Nah, not that one.
Here it is. Although I changed the default map BGM in Escha and Logy to the one you posted above.
I have no idea what it is about this one though. It's just catchy in a weird way to me.
Also, a catchy boss theme:
Funny, just got to boss battle with Keith just as I was clicking this thread. So I don't even need to listen to that here... its playing from my TV as I type this.
And yeah, that map theme is catchy as heck. I agree.
Went to bed late 'cause I was just synthesizing/fulfilling requests for hours...
So addictive.
Spoiler: show
I really enjoyed Ayesha and Escha. Yes, sure, they were simplified compared to the Arland series, but after doing Rorona and Totori, I felt like Meruru was more stressful in terms of trying to 'perfect it'. I breezed through Ayesha before I knew it.
I do think the cast for the Arland trilogy was better in a lot of ways, but there were some likable characters in the Dusk series.
I'll be curious to hear how you feel about Escha and Logy.
Feel like they polished the battle system a lot better. I appreciated the simplified alchemy of Ayesha after the Arland trilogy, but felt like the battle system was comparatively lacking. Escha & Logy tweaked it a bit.
Plus I liked the cast, even if two of them felt kinda..out of place.
Yeah, I agree. That's why I look forward to Ayesha Plus so much 'cause combat is the one place its lacking and I've heard they tweaked it and added a Hard mode.
On the subject of Atelier music:

Gust’s Atelier series has been going on for almost two decades now, but to commemorate the occasion of the company’s 20th anniversary, they’re releasing a massive soundtrack for their popular series. The official Twitter account shares more.
According to Gust social PR account’s Gust-chan, they’re celebrating the company’s 20th anniversary with what they call an ultimate CD box featuring tracks from all of the main Atelier titles they’ve released up until now.
The 44 disc soundtrack box’s quantity will be limited, and available on the official Gust shop. More details on its pricing and availability are expected to be announced in the near future.
Spent an hour with Sunless Sea last night. I'd been following it since Early Access but didn't own it until recently, and I've been pretty pleased with it so far. It's kind of like FTL in that it's bit of menu management but the writing is good and there's realtime movement instead of quick traveling to events/combat.
My first captain accidentally wound up losing seven people of his ten person crew sailing into the frozen north. By the end we were all starved and completely insane when we ran out of fuel, so we took lifeboats in different directions and no one made it back anywhere. My second captain sailed west and accidentally drove his entire crew insane so they mutinied and tossed him overboard. I'm seeing a trend.
