Finished Mortal Kombat 9 story mode today. The last MK title I played was Deception for the Xbox. This game was a pretty fun ride. Seeing Cyrax, Sektor, Kabal, etc prior to how they were presented in 3 was cool. I learned something along the way too. I recalled when I was young whooping ass in the local arcade on some MK3 and I knew damn near every characters combos and finishers. This one...maybe it was because you switched to a new character so often but I flat out sucked and barely got off combos. Probably cause I'm old now.

The canned combo system in the MK/Injustice games doesn't led itself to just jumping on a character and playing.

As someone who plays a shit ton of fighting games I wouldn't be able to just jump on a random character in those games and really do anything without looking at a move list.

Spent a few minutes with Bioshock on pc last night. I played 1 on 360 before and the lag and not so impressive graphics led me to not bother with 2. First thing I noticed on pc was how incredible the game looked and how fluid everything for the most part is. I had a few slowdowns, but possibly due to running a dual card (7990) and also AMD drivers. One thing I had an issue with was/is it seems when I make a change in the settings the game will go to a smaller window and I have to kill the program and start over. I also had issues with the resolution and sound at first start up. Any advice for making Bioshock more enjoyable on pc?

I loved Totori. haven't played any of the others though. I am a huge non-fan of the timing aspect...

currently playing FFXIV. it actually manages to capture a lot of the same atmosphere that drew me into XI; I'm impressed.

Yo, Yuri, you been busy lately or somethin'?
I feel like you used to be the poster in this thread but I hadn't seen you around in a while. Either way, glad to see you around again.

Also, with Ayesha, I think its pretty lenient. You could probably plat it or almost plat it on a first playthrough with no assistance. Lots of time to do what you need. Since I've played it before, I made it to post game with most things already done in about a year and a half from a fresh save... which of course gave me a ton of time to do what I wanted in post-game. Not sure about the rest of the dusk games though.

I won't comment on FFXIV though, hah.

I wanted to play something different yesterday and bought J.U.L.I.A: Among the Stars on Steam yesterday. Pretty cool adventure game. Graphics are simple, but not ugly, puzzles are not frustrating and the story seems interesting enough, although I think it's easy to predict the 'what happened' pretty early. Not finished yet so of course waiting to confirm that.

    To The Moon.

I don't care how it makes me sound, that was one of the greatest emotional rollarcosters I've ever been through. Fucking amazing story. One of the greatest games I've ever played.

Been on a Prisoner Dilemma kick lately. Bought 999 for DS, Danganronpa for Vita and replayed through Virtue's last reward. Man, these games are crazy fun

I've been getting an itch to play a RPG so I tried to fire up Dark Souls on my pc and apparently there is an issue with monitors over 60hz? It's either that or DSFix borked my game. Anyhow I had bought the Gothic series awhile back and tried to fire up 1, but the loading screen looked terrible. So I fired up a game from the first Humble Bundle I bought which was also the first set of pc games I've ever bought. This game is called Risen. It's old so nothing stellar with graphics, but after putting in some time I really enjoyed it. Combat isn't the easiest and I'm learning to actually play a pc game with a keyboard and mouse finally(I'm a terrible controller only person). Reviews of this game are a heavy love it or hate it. Many say it's a "hard core rpg that won't hold your hand". I can see that. It's pretty neat that I have to cook my own food and you are forced to put away your weapon to pick something up. Game is a little glitchy, but the price was right. There are some graphics mods, but when I tried to install them the game crashed and there doesn't seem to be a clear cut source on how to install. Someone had been working on a Nexus installer for some mods. I may mess around with it. Anyways, if Risen is in a cheap bundle and you want to mess around with something different, give it a try!

    Yes, yes it is.
Its a first person dungeon crawler so I probably won't actually play it but I was just testing out a lot of games.

If you haven't played WA:XF, it's definitely worth your time. Give it a bit to develop before judging it.

Started my hard difficulty run of inFamous:SS, evil karma route. Nice giving zero craps about the pedestrians and just murdering everything in sight.

If memory serves (which lately it doesn't) it's actually a moderately challenging game that will require some thought and preplanning, even if you power level the hell out of your classes.

I'm considering running back to it since you put it in a screenshot, too. I've only played through it once.

Note there's a bunch of missable stuff I think as the game doesn't really let you go too far backwards; I'd use a faq of some sorts.
