40 hours on disc one? I hope you have Omnislash already. I played it again recently and beat it in 46 hours doing everything other than the weapons, including getting Omnislash on disc one. I agree though, I loved it all over again when I played it recently, I had forgotten the majority of the game, so it felt good running through it all over again and remembering all sorts of random things as I did.

I would say I have 3-4hrs of idle time out of that and Yeah just got Omnislash as well as Red & Yuffies Final limit's everyone else there limits are maxed minus there final one, Wutai is done, Vincent of course is done, all my characters are around 40-42. All enemy skills and what not, spent a bunch of time leveling to max out everyone's limit breaks. Also having played Crisis Core has made it even more awesome for the scenes between Cloud & Aeris when she brings up Zach or what happened to him.

The only real downside to the game is having to stop the action to cure and use abilities, interrupting the battle flow, but yea if you're just looking to grind you can just run around near a save point and spam desert wind etc until you level up.

I usually ended up using 2 characters with attack/defense boosts, like Lilika + Steve, picking someone like Lilika/Simon lets you have one person hang back in boss encounters as well since their main weapons are long range. The only character who's shitty enough to not use is Jupis (the last char you get I think), and that's only because his voice is so annoying you'll never want to use him.

I thought the revelation flow was one of the best parts of the game, kinda like FF12's license board meets item farming, but I'm nerdy like that.
    wait, you're nerdy?

    really?

I would have waited on Wutai til disc 2. That's the only regret I have from this current game.

All I'm doing now is filling out the rest of my enemy skill slots and leveling up materia before I go fight the weapons. I may go clean out the final dungeon first so I can get all the masters but I'm not sure yet. Now that I've cleared out everything in gold saucer and the game has opened up again, I've stalled out a bit.

Anyone tried the new Fallout 3 downloadable content and have an opinion? Description on it makes it sound worth it, hopefully more so than Operation Anchorage :[

Somewhere on this forum I ran into a link to the best review of FF7 from this perspective (playing it again after a long, long time)

Re-downloaded Streets of Rage remake by Bomber Games. Latest updates are pretty noticeable, but Axel and Max are still too overpowered compared to Zan, Blaze, Skate, Adam, Ash, and Roo. The FPS problems from older versions are fixed, so it's easier to pull off crazy ass combos. If there was online multilayer, I'd never put it down, but there's always tons of people doing fusion online for SOR II/III anyway.

Had the day off and I've been playing FFVII today. I spent a tad bit over five hours in the Gold Saucer...only to have my power go out. Of course I didn't save cause it cost points to save.

(and apparently Koudelka for PS1 is a prequel to all 3, but yea)

The first one is good (although a bit dated), with a spooky atomsphere and a gritty realistic setting with some horror-ish elements thrown in and a little humor.

The second one really focuses a lot on the characters and the humor, it feels like the spookiness factor was abandoned to an extent but it's widely accepted as the best in the series and a fantastic game.

From what I understand #3 continues in the same direction, but a lot of people don't feel it's as good as #2.

Unfortunately you will miss out on a lot of the story for #2 unless you play #1 first, or you could always read spoilers online I guess.
I have played, and still own, all 3 of these games. I think the knock on the 3rd one was that it pretended like the first 2 didn't even exist, which I actually enjoyed because I felt the whole Yuri story was over anyway, it was a good way to keep the concept fresh while not rehashing old storylines. I do agree that 2 was the best of the 3 though, but enjoyed them all.

As for what I'm playing right now, I just bought Infinite Undiscover and Chronicles of Riddick, so I'm playing through those, as well as getting my old school fix with FFVI on PSP.

I really think people are missing out not buying Infinite Undiscovery for $19.99, such a fun game. I'd HIGHLY recommend downloading the 2 free DLC synthesis packs from Xbox Live, they make item synthesis a little TOO easy but I think that having free access to half the materials in the game turn what would be an annoying treasure hunting/item creation mechanic into one of the game's most fun aspects. People balk at the idea of unlimited money but it really does free you up to actually enjoy the game, which is a lot better than reviews would have you believe.

I almost bought chronicles of riddick when amazon had it as their deal of the day for $14.98 last week but I didn't feel like finding another 10.02 worth of crap to buy to get free shipping, lol.

And I think the Shadow Hearts series, or at least the 2nd game (but from what I understand the 3rd game follows this nicely) actually becomes something of a wacky, off the wall, humorous satire that poses the question of just how crazy an RPG character would have to be in real life. I actually really look forward to playing the 3rd game because I really like the direction the series is going in after the first 2.

Currently about 20-30 hours into FFVI Advanced (which, oddly enough, I've been playing almost exclusively on my Gamecube/GBplayer and not my GBMicro/DSLite), I spent a crapload of time on the veldt just after getting the airship getting all of Gau's Rages available at that point and farming up enough Magic AP that everyone except Cyan/Setzer/Mog has mastered all the espers I have.

This is my first time really playing the game and I'm loving it, as much as I'd love to see this get a FF3/FF4-esque 3D DS makeover I'm guessing the GBA version had enough extras and was recent enough that we won't see it, at least for a while. Anyway, I doubt I'm even close to halfway done so I'm sure I have a week or 2 before I move on to something else.

I realize I haven't beaten a FF game prior to FF7, I tried playing FF3 and got about 10 hours in before I was bored to tears, and currently my FF4 game is just at the Lunar Subterrane on my first playthrough, but stuff is too hard so I'd have to grind a little to beat the game. Is it worth playing FF1/2/3 and 5? Thinking about buying FFV Advanced but yea.

Anyway sorry for wall of text lol

FFV is definitely worth it, the story is a little weak but the job system is fantastic and will keep you playing just like FFXI lol. FF 1/2/3 are optional, they are very light in story and were innovative at the time but don't hold up well. FFVI is by far the most in depth RPG as far as character development and storyline, god I love that game.

Btw, Chronicles of Riddick is worth it for the Escape from Butcher Bay remake alone. The voice acting is on par with a good Hollywood movie and there's a great story to tell as well.

oh? I didn't realize that Dark Athena includes a remake of the xbox original (which I also never played). Is it the full game? Does Escape from Butcher Bay contain anything that the 360 version doesn't?

Now I'm kicking myself for not buying it, lol

Both full games. They re-did the graphics a bit and re-recorded a new musical score as well for the re-release. I believe that the 360/PC/PS3 versions are all the same.

Finished up the Starship Troopers FPS.

Fans of the movies need to pick it up. It's a really trashy B-Game that's barrels of fun. Nothing like mowing down 50 bugs then crawling through the corpses to get to the next batch.

    Finished:
Blue Dragon, not bad of a RPG game.
    Resident Evil 5, loved it.
CoD4 online again, I kick ass!!

    Thinking of replaying Halo 3.

Ratchet and Clank - plugging away on this one. I think I overdosed on RPGs for a while. I like how this game is more than just action/exploration, though. it really makes you think about which weapon will get through each situation with the least amount of ammo wasted.

I do wish ammo boxes regenerated, though. I was pissed when I realized they didn't.

and in more shocking news, I'm only playing one game at a time right now. I actually left my DS at home on purpose today.

I started into Fight Night 4 over the weekend. I also picked up Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii but haven't dug into it too much yet.

I can't seem to finish anything. I started MGS and FFVII a while back. They're still @ the 75% point. I started into Dead Rising and Last Remnant but stalled out on those.

NCAA 10 is on the way from Gamefly now as well so I don't think I'll be finishing anything else any time soon.
