Gotta love these Tales games... making you think you're good for the next boss since you destroy everything in your path on the way to it, but then you get your ass handed to you.

Oh, I think that's the moth like boss, yea? I think that's like the first boss that shows just how important elemental weakness is(I might be confusing myself with Xillia 2 here, been awhile since I played Xillia).

I think the biggest issue with that fight is the charm it can do, if that's the boss I'm thinking of.

Star Ocean 3 is still going strong, for some reason I can't bring myself to stop playing this game. I am liking it, it has a pretty decent voice cast, though eventually I had to turn off the battle voices. Battle system keeps getting better and better with more abilities and I hope I am not leveling too much, the EXP boost bar just keeps going and going, and as a result bosses die easily. I am only around level 11 though, so just assuming this is just still early game baby steps.

Oh man, the game has tons of fun skills to mess around with later on. Ethereal Blast, Max Shockwave, Triple Kick, Scatter Beam, Energy Burst, EXPLOSION, Southern Cross and plenty of others depending on who ends up in your party.

The character switching is too much fun, I am really lame for not ever picking this game up.

I think I either took a wrong turn or the game just showed me it's true colors lol, went into the Mountains of Barr and fought his dragon who I thought would be easy but it took me a while and I barely won, fun battle would be pretty cool if this was the actual difficulty now.

The difficulty does tend to go up and spike a bit, then it goes down when you master the better skills, then kinda goes up again for post-game. I love SO3, so rich and a lot to do.

Side Kick and good ol' Hammer of Might both come pretty early, either can carry you the whole game LOL

I switched back to it's very guerilla shitty 480p mode only because it shows the entire map zoomed out, and the 16:9 aspect ratio is pretty sweet.

This is easily the best $15 bucks I ever spent. Though the controller that came with it isn't perfect or have the feel like an original sony dual shock 2, it's grown on me. The buttons are very clicky and responsive, the rumble on this thing is even better than the dual shock's, and it has grips on the back.

But I just know I am gonna cave and end up buying this shit, I use to use this endlessly. The wireless function and great battery life made me end up going through 2 of them.

Ended up trying out Guacamelee STCE on PS4 from PS+ after having only dabbled about 30min on my older Steam copy. Two days of casual play later and I 100%'d it. Difficulty was just right for me on hard mode. Just a little disappointed at the lack of challenging platforming/combat sections, of which there were only a couple I can count on my hand throughout the whole run. The Infierno challenges were fun but short lived, shame there weren't more of them. Hell of a polished game otherwise, quite recommended for a 7-8hr romp.

Currently playing Bloodborne and am enjoying the highly aggressive nature of all the AI vs the lumbering slower-paced DeS/DaS1. Still got DaS2 on the backlog, oh well, PS3's currently not hooked up. May have to bug some folks in the thread for that eventually. Also dabbling with Grim Fandango on the Vita to the side, never played the original, somewhat liking it besides the cumbersome inventory system; could have really used a quick access inventory ring or something.

I loved that Logitech controller, including the floaty d-pad which people seemed to have had complaints about. It had just the right weight to it as well.

Star Ocean 3 is fucking awesome. Make sure to pick up Albel Nox. My favorite character in the entire game and such a badass I always wished to see him as the main protagonist of a SO game.

Pretty sure that's the wrong game and character (though...he is one of the best in SO4 lol)

Yeah. I don't think this is really that spoilery but there will come a point where you only get one of the 3 temporary Elicoorians.

Nel is the default if you don't get Albel or Roger.
Albel you can get by sleeping at the inn after you get him (temporarily) and answering a certain way.
Roger you can get if you had him join in that one forest, and do a sidequest for him.

You can also get another one of the above later if you don't recruit a certain other party member who pops up afterwards.

Basically you have 6 mandatory characters (2 of these are tacked onto the Director's Cut, which is the english version by default) and 2 "make your choice" slots between the above 4.

Honestly, I'm all about gettin' Peppita and Nel myself, but Albel is never a bad choice.

Peppita is one I always get because I like to solo post-game stuff with her and Nel 'cause she can round out most parties. Whirlwind, Ice Daggers and Mirror Slice are all pretty boss. On stuff that doesn't absorb wind, Whirlwind is probably some of the strongest possible DEEPS.

I am loving Nel and Cliff a lot so far, not just playstyles but character as well. lol you are aware you can turn the voices off right? I will admit, after a while of weird silence, I turned them back on again.... then off. It's a love/hate hing.

Eh, you get used to it. Also, hearing "Maiden of War, fly with li- KABOOM!" or "Maiden of War, fly with li- Instanto Blast!" never got old for me, personally.

Yeah the voices grow on you in a weird way, sometimes they're really annoying but I never got bored of certain attacks.

I never knew Peppita was so good until later playthroughs, definitely a character worth exploring even if she annoys you, it'll probably grow on you.
