Been working on Eternal Poison and Devil Survivor. Also been messing around on FF7 on my psp as well. And I'm also messing around on the Warhammer trial. I'm liking the pvp centricness of it quite a bit actually. Think it won the "MMO to play till FFXIV" contest!

I've been playing Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube. I realized I had never actually finished it, started playing it, and remembered how much I loved the battle system. Probably going to go through a lot of games I never actually finished due to MMOs.

Grabbed Eternal Sonata & Dead Space each for $22 used (yay for 10% EDGE discount + no tax @ EBGames) for PS3.

Spent 3 hours on Eternal Sonata, and so far loving it, beautiful game with some great scores, albeit the battle mode is a little too button-mashing for my tastes. Rack up Echoes, using Special, rinse & repeat...

Dead Space I'm on chapter 2 in, and decided to make the game a chore from the get go by getting that One Gun trophy out of the way first, where I can only use the beginning weapon throughout the entire game. For some reason I always have to manually adjust the brightness on my monitor for every bloody 'dark' game I own. Friggen dynamic contrast....., couldn't see shit in any of the darker areas until I cranked the black level on my monitor from low to high.

Still Halo Wars! But I'm about done; 250k more points to my last achievement, General rank on Live. I finally took a little break from multiplayer to wrap up the campaign and knock out all of the achievements. Now since I'm weird with my games, it bothered me to not have all gold medals on all of the missions on my Legendary playthrough. It took awhile to do M4 - Arcadia City and get gold, but I finally did about a week ago. I then saw that it was the #10 score on the leaderboards, and my new mini obsession was born.

I'm now #1 in 4 different missions and in the top 10 in 12 of the 15 missions; I figure I'll be able to top 10 them all, and that will be good enough. No way I can get #1 in them all, but I'll content with top 10s.

The non-Legendary leaderboards seem really dumb; it's very feasible to get the max score, even with all debuff skulls active, so the leaderboard is just one big tie at max score. >.>;

Being a huge Grandia 1 and 2 Fan, I was kinda skeptical about picking this up after seeing how horrible Grandia 2 was on PS2. I must say I'm pleasantly surprised, combat is as fun as ever, and the voice acting is actually decent. My one gripe is that I really want to punch Alfina and her voice actor in the throat at least once everytime I play the game, because the voice just grates my nerves.

It also needs more Tio.

It's a good game so far though.

Finally got back to playing Lost Odyssey more frequently, online NHL 09 been taking way too much of my time. Finished disc 1 of LO a few days ago. First time I've been that emotionally raped by a scene in a game in a looooooong time, those who've played it know exactly what I'm talking about. Kind of disappointed that it only took me around 15 hours to get through the first disc, but then again aside from the first boss I haven't had to do any grinding whatsoever. I've been spending maybe an hour or so every now and then getting SP for linked skills though, but that's it. Kind of torn with who I want in my party and not as well, too many mages and not enough melee (just got Sarah). I've been sticking to Kaim and Seth in front with Ming, Jansen, and Cooke in the back, but I'm going to need to get Mack in the party eventually to link his melee skills.

so after one day without my DS on the bus I got bored... but I guess that just means that my experiment served the purpose, which was to make me want to play DS again.

so far I'm taking it easy with Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary, no more handheld RPGs for me for the moment please. plus I can't find my iPod and headphones so I'll be sticking to games that don't really need sound to be fun. d'oh.

I think I picked Jansen when I didn't need to grind because of his extra skill slot? That, and he could be a competent caster when given black/white earrings etc. I'd just pick whoever you want for now, it doesn't matter who you use since most people I know ended up using one of the other 2 mortals you haven't gotten yet almost exclusively (due to his extra skill/accessory slots).

As for grinding, I forget the name but there's a beach-type area connected to one of the starting areas of the game that has Silver Kelolon enemies that give lots of AP, but you have to use Gamble to get them dead before they flee, as well as big Toad-type enemies that will kill you on the 3rd turn but are extremely succeptable to poison/virus and can be killed for lots of xp.

I was busily breeding Growlithes and other Pokes on Platinum to get ready for SoulSilver when not playing Devil Survivor and WoW, but can't find my DS for some reason...so I opened up Rune Factory Frontier and started playing.

That game is so addictive. I had absolutely no idea. It's been keeping me off WoW for the last 2 weeks, and I think I'm not even on the 3rd dungeon yet. I still miss my DS though, i really need to find it.

Grandia III

Does the grandia series follow each other? I want to start playing them and already have III but havn't played I or II.

Oh and I'm playing Kingdom Hearts II now, and a little disappointed. I think there are far too many cut scenes. It breaks up the game play too much. The new drive system is fun though :D

Completely different stories, although the battle system, skills/magic/items, are pretty much the same throughout the games.

slowly working on Rogue Galaxy. kinda slow-paced game still. very bland. story gives no incentive to keep playing. on ch6 after 10 hours, so maybe finishing won't take too long.

I dislike how all the "systems" (factory, bug thing, skill acquisition, etc) basically involve item fetching and/or grinding stuff. the game is very grindy. you kinda don't think that an rpg with a real-time action battle scheme would be so slow paced and grindy... but then you go into a dungeon where you just run around fighting random mobs for an hour or two with minimal story/events until you get to a ho-hum boss fight.

Not a terrible game so far, just painfully mediocre. The graphics are nice though, I'll say that.

Rather then making a thread for it I might as well ask here if anybody have tried out the new NCAA Football game. I know its not as popular as its big brother but I've always liked the NCAA series a lot more. Having team builder on the PC is great, but the fact that they released several DLC for $13 on the same day as release is fucking pissing me off. Shit they clearly could've added with the release but decided just to fuck people over with.

Anyway, I'd like to play some of you online.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on GBA emulator. Damn, either that game is really hard, or not sectioned off properly. The last couple bosses I've fought are ridiculously difficult (I beat them but it was insane), and upon looking up a walkthrough, I fought them like 10-15 levels too early. Symphony of the Night at least limited where you could go, so this would rarely happen, but this one does not. Fun game but the correct path is not obvious.

CotM is just plain bitchy, though. it really is a hard game even if you play it "right." which is why I love it, I've been through all the modes. Adramelech is one of the nastiest bosses in any game ever, although he's beatable at any level once you get his pattern down. it's just really hard and takes forever and if you're playing a no-potion game (which is the best way to play the game imo) you can't really screw up more than once or twice.

currently I am hooked on Puyo Puyo. I've never been this addicted to a puzzle game, not even Tetris Attack back in the day. fucking love this shit. yes I am late to the party lol.
