I didn't like 2 as much as 1, but I understand what you mean about Infinite having a different vibe/atmosphere. Stick with it though, the ending makes it worthwhile and the gameplay really picks up after mid-game (early game is boring and shit comparatively). There are some stupid enemies The DLC is also good.

I beat 1 a couple of years ago and immediately bought the next 2 games on sale. Beat 2 after MGSV, and was reminded of why I loved the first. I especially liked the atmosphere. Then I got to Infinite. I don't know if it was the high ratings the game received causing me to build the game up in my head, but I'm kind of disappointed. The atmosphere I liked so much is gone, and the combat feels like it's been CoD/Halo'd. The story is ok so far, but nothing too crazy. I'm almost done and will probably beat it tonight, but I'm not sure I'll go back to it in her future.

I don't know. Did anyone else here feel that way about Infinite?
I played 1 on 360 and didn't like it simply due to the graphics and lag I faced. Didn't bother with 2. About 6 months later I built my first gaming pc and immediately bought Infinite due to the reviews and a friend's opinion. I loved it. Absolutely incredible game to me. Was the first time in a long time I was anxious to get off of work to go home and play a game. I never played Halo and stopped playing CoD after the first Advanced Warfare (played Blops like a minute).

It's all good for you. Everyone's opinion can be different and there is no right or wrong. I actually borderline hated 1 and was wondering why everyone liked it so much. After Infinite I gladly bought 1 & 2 for pc.

See, the way you felt about Infinite was how I felt about 1. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it, but it's just not as great as I was expecting. I had a lot of fun with 2, surprisingly, and it being the worst of the 3, I thought Infinite was going to be AMAZING.

I think that is my issue and why I'm a bit disappointed.

Anyway, once I'm done with Infinite I'll be moving onto The Evil Within.

Maybe I'll give Infinite another try; I ran into what you said about the gameplay feeling boring and shit comparatively, but I really wanted to like it.

Thankfully I saved before I entered that mission, cause uh, fuck that.
Welcome to one of the most painful gaming experiences you'll ever have lol. I stress caution when moving forward at all into open territory with that mod.

Charged up my PSP out of boredom to see how the system aged (rather gracefully). Played a bunch of games, ended up getting Castlevania X Chronicles thrown in at one point which I barely played prior.

And oh lordy, Rondo of Blood is the Classicvania game I've been wanting to play for years without realizing it. Has everything I was expecting Super Castlevania IV to have but didn't: Jumping onto/off stairs, more aggressive enemies, split-paths in stages along with different stage routes, and most importantly, moonwalking on flat surfaces. While the 3d visuals in this port was nice, I switched over to the original version when I got that unlocked. Going to see about getting that save file 100%'d.

Also that UMD drive grinding sound.

I question why I ever bought my PSP. Only games I ever played were Valkyrie Profile, FFT port, and Megaman X remake (though Vile mode kicked ass).

Been trading off sessions of Bloodborne at a friend's (since I don't have a PS4 but am enamored by this game). Very opposite approaches; he favors gun-parry and lighter weapons, I favor just abusing range (Axe, Kirkhammer) and AI behavior. But we're learning from each other as well as just the Souls-y "learn, die, repeat" thing. We just hit Old Yharnam.

You missed out on a lot and I do mean a lot of good games.
The PSP was a god tier JRPG machine.

Well, make sure you play Tactics Ogre: LUCT, Jeanne d'Arc and Hexyz Force at some point.
I honestly feel like those gems should not be missed by anyone who can play them.

There's also a decent PSP emulator available. NO EXCUSES.

still Tales of Destiny. just finished the first arc. I don't know why I love this game so much but I do, I really do. I just wish Tales of Destiny 2 had a translation or the remake for that matter.

I did that with Hearts, following the script while playing the game. it was... ok. not as good as a patch of course.

idk maybe I'll give it a shot. at least the remake anyway; I know the original game well enough that it would be worthwhile.

Was playing Uncharted 1 on the PS3 but started feeling nauseous... yeah fuck this game. I wonder if this carried over on the PS4 ver.

Started up Trails in the Sky SC. Forgot how fun these games are, though pretty damn text heavy.
