Playing Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus, got embarrassed at Otacon![]()
I like the 2d overworld graphics but the battle graphics are atrocious. just plain horrible. the animations are awkward, there's nothing special about the special effects, and the models are ugly and seem to use a bare minimum of polygons. although I played the game right after FF7 so I think that ruined it for me, since FF7's in-battle graphics were just so much better.
but it is still fun for nostalgia's sake. and some of the battle system itself is cool, like the crest graphs and the sword techniques. although ARM upgrades cost way too much, grr.
Thanks figured it out. Did anyone pickpocket filia in the beginning of the game? She drops some item called the mischief that's supposed to be really, really good. After 4 hours of getting enough money and skilling up my pickpocketing, I screwed it up since I've already seen the filia scene before and it only appears once in the game. Should I restart? I really don't want to...
alright... I'm back to my old habits, lol.
currently playing:
Wild ARMs
Ratchet & Clank
Breath of Fire II (GBA)
Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary (DS)
hmm only four games... I guess that's not too many.
Restarted GTA4. I can't finish anything and then I go and pick up one of two games I actually did beat last year.
Playing the utter shit out of WipEout Fury here, which is probably not a good thing since I still got Dead Space, Eternal Sonata, Savage Moon, and Castlevania:Order of Ecclesia to finish as well.
Aaaagh, and I'm not going to have time for gaming at all when I move in a month, must....finish....now!
BF: Bad Company
Rented Condemned 2 yesterday and having a lot of fun with it. The fighting system is a real pain but when you pick up a gun it's so much more fun lol rhyme.
Besides that the gf and I are playing a LOT of littlebigplanet. I've even been working on my level, crazy stuff.
Other games include me restarting my YuGiOh WTC2009 game file because apparently I didnt grind hard enough and playing Infamous
FF IX
Finally got some decent runes to get my Daggermancer working properly in D2. I pretty much act like a point man/sniper and run around poisoning shamans, champions, and unique mobs while casting confuse or Amplify damage so party members can mop up the hordes with ease. Pretty easy to make build since poison items are so common and you don't need insane gear to be effective.
Currently resisting the urge to install D2 for the billionth time thanks to Sol, and also went back to Lost Odyssey. Fun game, good story, but I feel like it's going to be a pretty short game. I'm only around 26 hours of playtime into it but already on disc 3. I haven't been grinding very much at all, even to the point of having someone on my XBL friends list send me a message suggesting I level up some (I'm under level 35 currently with all members, but Sed isn't officially part of the group yet). I'm at the point now where everyone is separated and going to find each other etc..
Are discs 3 and 4 longer than the first two, or am I just wrong in thinking it was going to be longer than this even up to now?
thats pretty surprising to hear, it's been a while since I played but I seem to remember being absolutely creamed on some of the bosses until I grinded up some to beat them. I know that if you're aiming to get every skill on every immortal, you'll more than likely naturally gain a fair amount of levels in the process, especially if you get the DLC dungeon and farm up the items in there.
edit: oh and I'm just about done with FFVI Advance, beat the game and took some time to grind up 8 party members to 99 and the other 4 to 85, which is probably overkill for the bonus dungeon but whatever. I'm kinda sick of the game but I know if I don't force myself to do it now I never will, and having the nice ultimate items for everyone will be pretty neat. Is it true you can get duplicates of the Soul of Thamasa/Master's Scroll in the post-game content on the GBA version?
You're able to get them (can't recall if they were drops, or if you had to steal them) off specific mobs in that place you unlock after the Dragon's Den. And man that place is fun, just non-stop back-2-back monster encounters.
Bit easy though given all of my characters are lvl99, maxed HP/MP (except for Umaro/Gogo), all magic, and stupidly high Speed stat. Gets tiring watching Locke smack mobs 8x times for 9999dmg a round though when it's clearly overkill for the entire game.

It took a little under 5 months for me to 100% Halo Wars, but I finally got the General achievement today. I'm up for a genre change for sure; I have Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Valkyria Chronicles, and Eternal Sonata still unplayed. Which is the most must-play? I know many people here have played through those by now.
I really despised Eternal Sonata. I absolutely abhorred the battle system, and there wasn't really anything else to do other than fighting from one dungeon to the next. Story was meh, and I couldn't stand most of the voice acting. It was really short, too, and I finished it in about 32 hours on my first play through (most PS2 RPGs I play usually last me about 70-80 hours on my first play through, some upwards of 120 hours with extra optional stuff). There were some optional dungeons I skipped, but I was so disgusted with the game I didn't bother, nor had any desire to play through it again.
