Return Fire. It's a top down capture the flag game for early PS1. It's amazing.

Once you finish the game, go through and do the Seraphic Gate. It's incredibly fun, though I had to find some Youtube videos for some of the crystal puzzles. They're insane. I have no idea how people found that shit out.
I don't know, after breaking enough Giant Hawk wings to set PETA off on a rampage without any Raptor Talons, I might disagree lol. although I finally got one, and now my heavy sword user can finally join in on the Soul Break madness.

I can't wait for Seraphic Gate, it seems right up my ally. aside from some of the photon puzzles, maybe - I looked them up on youtube and even with the guides, I'm not sure I could pull them off lol. those are tough. I love the addition of sidescrolling puzzle gameplay to an RPG though. what a good idea, and pretty well-executed, too.

oh sure, I have plenty of rec- oh, non-RPG?

hmm. are you already playing SotN? oh. you are.

    well then.

yeah, I got nothing. maybe Alundra? that's an action-RPG, with tons of puzzle elements... so it kinda counts. and it's fucking fantastic.

oh and Mega Man X4! how could I forget. one of the best in the series.

and yeah, I forgot to mention, I never beat Startropics because it's really fucking hard. and if you think that's bad, don't even try the sequel, oh Jesus. but the good news is, Crystalis is far, far easier (unless you don't level enough, but considering max level is 16, it's not like it's that hard).

How are the ps2 castlevanias (curse of poopinz, lament of poopinz)? I can so see myself on a castlevania kick now, once I beat SotN.

That is, provided I don't get bogged down with the fall/winter new releases! Only 1 more week til DSfest!

In related news gamestop stopped taking reserves on the collector's edition of Dragon Age Origins for 360 (but not ps3/pc), so fuck them. Hopefully the collector's edition from amazon has almost all the same preorder premiums. Other than DA: Origins and Ratchet & Clank I really can't imagine paying full price or buying anything else on the day it's released, besides maybe Alpha Protocol.

Assassin's Creed 2, like all ubisoft games, will be on sale for $40 by january, lol.

The PS2levanias are alright, main weakness being button-mashing combat system and shite camera (couldn't control it at all last I checked, so you were stuck with whatever bad angle a particular dev decided to choose for an area), but enjoyable none the less. Some good musical scores in Lament of Innocence also.

Anyways, been playing Layton2 the past while, just beat the game recently, and contemplating whether or not if I want to deal with the bullshit tea minigame or not in order to unlock the rest of the hidden puzzles.

Also picked up Uncharted 1 last night and was playing it non-stop until it froze three hours in, to which I decided to call it until Sony fixes the lock-up issue.
(I was impressed how great it still looked given it was a PS3 title from two friggen years ago)

Just surprised how many variants of green Naughty Dog was able to apply to the jungles to keep visibility clear and defined.

Finally beat hell mode on D2 and showed my usefulness with an insanely high DPF poison dagger that took 60% of Baal's HP. I wish I had known charms and jewels boosted poison attacks back when I started. I'll probably spend the next few weeks working the cow level and a shit load of Baal runs to upgrade my gear.

Oh, and I've been playing Puzzle Fighter... lots and lots of Puzzle fighter...

now that I recommended Alundra to someone else, I ended up getting out my copy and have been plowing through that. never did beat the game, though I got pretty far last time I played through. seriously one of my favorite games for the PSX, so fun, so deep, great story, perfectly-balanced puzzles. my only gripe is that the combat is somewhat stiff, but it's not that bad and everything else more than makes up for it.

Took a little break from working on the 10k kill trophy in Resistance to play a couple of other things. The gf is making me play Legend of Mana in exchange for her playing ZoE(which she keeps avoiding every time i bring it up) and thats pretty interesting. PS3 helps it look a little less sucky(sorry, if i can't see what's going on on my tv then i can't play it. I dont have a tube tv i can play on) . I don't get the purpose of capturing the elemental things with the music but the boss fights are fun at least XD

Also on the 2nd playthrough of Infamous since everyone on BG has the platinum trophy except me >.>

Im getting back into my DiRT game (x360) since D2 came out a few days ago. I forgot how awesome and pretty (graphic wise) this game was.

Finished Symphony of the Night with 200.2% completion, don't really feel like finding the 2-3 rooms I missed. Farmed up a Crissaegrim, 2 Heaven Swords, a Runesword, 2 Rings of Varda, a Lapis Lazuli, among other things. Also did the gem dupe glitch out of impatience but got 2 duplicators, as well as a 2nd ring of arcana and dracula cloak/axeknight armor from the master librarian. All I really have left in the game now is to level from 65->99, level the familiars from 30ish, and power up the muramasa, but I doubt I'll end up doing all that.

Dunno what to play next, probably a longer RPG, most likely one for SNES/PS1... Thinking Alundra or Dragon Quest 7 or Legend of Dragoon, or Terranigma/Earthbound or I dunno. Too many choices!

Too Human on 360, this is the perfect supplement while waiting for Diablo 3

I kinda liked Too Human, I mean it was pretty unforgivably bad considering how long Silicon Knights spent making it (and how much it was hyped) but the concept for the game was pretty much fantastic. I would have liked to see where the series ends up going but at this point I really highly doubt they'll ever make another.

I can't decide what to play so I just started Order of Ecclesia and some ps3 bioshock

Only problem I'm finding with Too Human was the shitty default camera angle, but I changed that shit to isometric and just lovin' it.

Too Human 2 needs to be made but not take 10 years to be made. It has a creativity to be greater with more additions from a sequel.

ah, the joys of your first Crissaegrim. so fucking awesome. best weapon ever? possibly...

also, if you don't have a Yatsusana, those are awesome too, and a much easier drop to boot. Werewolves in the Reverse Colosseum, if you didn't know.

glad you're playing OoE, how do you like it?

I was playing OoE, but got stuck on Albus (hard mode, I can beat him but want his medal) so now I let that rest for a bit and am enjoying the fantastic dungeons of Alundra (seriously, best. level design. ever.) and the gorgeous presentation of Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. god what I wouldn't give for a game with the gameplay of Alundra, the graphics and style of VP2, with a Mitsuda soundtrack and a Matsuno story.

I tore through Dead Rising and Professor Layton 2 pretty fast. It's amazing how much a week at home with swine flu can free up your gaming time.

    Bouncing between -

    Mario & Luigi 3 (fantastic)
Army of Two (playing it co-op with my brother primarily since it's more fun that way)
Far Cry 2 (just picked this up, having a hard time getting into it due to all the friggen driving around needed for all the side-quests/missions, game is claustrophobic compared to #1 -.- )

    and

Uncharted 1 (I play it in spurts until it locks up, then call it a day)
