really getting into Soma Bringer lately. started farming the optional bosses, then quickly realized it'd be smarter to wait until Master mode to do that. so I'm going to plow through the rest of the game with my overpowered spell-totin' Soma and his two body guards/meat shields, so I can access the harder difficulty modes.

other than that, I've been playing Okami on and off. at first I was frustrated at how little information the game gives you on where to go next, but now that I'm getting into it, I'm glad it doesn't hold your hand. and it's not like there aren't clues everywhere, you just have to explore to find them. it's been a while since I've played a game that forces you to explore like this, it's great.

Going for Metal Gear Solid 4 at the highest difficulty. Quite punishing but fun stuff.

Haha, yeah those are incredible. Once I boot up the game I'm glued for a good 3+ hours.

Also been playing Empire: Total War recently but I guess I'll restart it....Normal Difficulty is very easy for some reason. Going to shoot for a new Turkish campaign and follow the revolution route.

Going to be interesting indeed.

Oh, and Napoleon: Total War is on its way!

I tried downloading Risen and god it sucked so hard. I spent like 2 minutes just trying to kill every boar and moth I ran into. Game felt like a shittier Morrowind aside from the obvious upgrade to graphics.

sucks to hear that, I guess I wasn't expecting much after Gothic 3 but I hoped it would at least be decent. I guess I could always hold out hope that they delayed the 360 release to make it actually worth a damn, but I doubt it.

Star Ocean: First Departure on the PSP. Skipped over it when it first came out for other titles, after playing it a bit though, kind of wish I hadn't. Not quite as good as SO2, but what with SO4 coming to the PS3 in Feb, I'm kind of back on an SO kick.

Been playing Need for Speed Shift, and holy shit this is just what this series needed. The racing is some of the most intense I've ever come across. It really feels like you're constantly on the brink of loosing control.

Just got my platinum trophy on it the other day, so glad to put the game away for good. (fuck the Epilogue, I'm not paying $10 to 'fix' the game's ending, and get OCD on completing the trophies for that also)

Been racing through inFamous yet again, my 3rd playthrough, all in the name of a single trophy to get yet another platinum. Such a fun game still, which I'm thankful for. One of the few superhero games out there where you're powerful, but you still have legitimate weak points.
(probably the only platforming game out there that has a proper excuse for water = death aside from Psyconauts)

Gotta start over, but getting decent unique items to carry me for a while.

I enjoyed First Departure... definitely took a bit to get into it but I enjoyed it.

One thing about the game that I love is the opening movie and the song that's with it

still on Soma Bringer, nearing end of Act 5.

Mario & Luigi 3 is pissing me off right now, any game that requires use of the mic should be shot down before it's made. I really hate the DS mic.

still plowing through Okami, just restored the big city and visited Queen Himiko after getting the artifact that protects you from fire. still loving it, although as I bitched in a PM to Atreides, sometimes progressing the plot requires seemingly random and obscure actions. but I guess that's their way of forcing you to explore. I'm also nervous about using Gold Dust, since I don't want to miss a couple and not be able to power up the best weapons later on. I get the feeling there's a 1-to-1 ratio of Gold Dust to weapons, and I know I probably won't find all of them.

Circle of the Moon on Saturday, Harmony of Dissonance yesterday.
On Saturday gonna try to blow through Aria of Sorrow.

you haven't played CotM until you've played it through all five modes!
