ogre battle 64!
Been playing the Riviera remake on the psp which is pretty damn addicting. Also finally picked up Uncharted 1. Honestly didn't think it would be as much fun as this.
Got everything for a platinum in Fallout 3 except for the last mission last night.
Then with about 10 minutes to go, my PS3 locked up. ><
I'll finish that up tonight then dig back into the stack of games I keep pushing aside. I picked up MGS4 so I'm thinking I'll finish my playthrough of 1 from a couple months back then do 2 and 3 before starting into 4.
On the DS I'm still playing FFIV. Red tails are a myth.
Spoiler: show
I am very disappointed.
I fucking hated the last blockhead, even when I got all the spots 'perfect' from my perspective. The game was too picky about that.
Anyways, I've been farming souls in Demon's Souls, not sure how I'm still enjoying that given it feels like an MMO at times.
Also picked up the Greatest Hits edition of Midnight Club: Los Angeles yesterday (which included all the DLC which I thought was a nice touch), been enjoying that aside from the fact half of the game events essentially require a perfect run to win, which gets frustrating due to the traffic always coming at you from around that corner when you never want it. Was surprised at the amount of detail in the game's world.
This update is taking too long so...
Silent Hunter 4 - Still love it.
Jade Empire: SE - Never got around to completing it, still don't think I will.
Empire:TW - Whenever I delete enough crap to install it, awesome game, just didn't quite captivate me the same way the others did, presumably due to the lack of unit options.
Clive Barker's Jericho - Foolishly picked it up and paid for it before I noticed it was made by Codemasters. I was right, it sucked balls.
Alone in the Dark - Runs like shit on my old GeForce 6800, so it's on hold until I finally get around to updating that. Looked pretty epic though.
Combat Wings: Battle of Britain - IL-2 was just too much, I'll try again when I buy myself a proper joystick for that shit. This was surprisingly fun to play, if somewhat easy. Did a couple of missions, flew around like a nut blowing away anything that moved, didn't feel like I was about to get shot down once.
Dead Space - Really enjoyed what I saw of it, I'll go back and complete it some day. Silent Hill in space? Fuck yeah.
DoW: Soulstorm - DoW2 bored me to tears, this is actually quite good though. The stronghold assaults can be a fucking pain at times though.
Company of Heroes - Played this online on and off for a long time, ToV was something of a letdown, still a lot of fun to play though.
Tropico - Simcity for dictators? Can't go wrong really, enjoyed the shit out of this. It just got better when I found out I could imprison anyone I wanted, or have them killed.
I think that's everything...
Anyone else play Rabid Druid on D2? I got my skill setup looking good but confused about gear selection. Does rabies benefit from +poison or -poison resistance%? Shit's kind of confusing and looking to decide on Bramble or Doom rune word.
Just finished borderlands first playthrough. Disappointed with the the way it ended but overall it was really enjoyable. Minus the fact that some of the trophies are bugged (Hi2u no face melter trophy when I freaking main a corrosive revolver).
Finally going to play through Twilight Princess which I've owned for two years >_<
Yeah, Bramble is best for Rabies Druids. I was actually going to make a Rabies/Fury Druid and found a pretty well-written guide, http://www.diablo2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230
I got bored of my Necromancer, too, but it somehow swayed more towards Poison Nova than Dagger. Turned into a wet tissue, too, because of it. I had literally maybe 20 points into Vitality total at level 70 and not a whole lot of health from gear. I made a trap Assassin now though and got it up to 76 yesterday thanks to a Baal bot in nightmare, used to have a trap Assassin way back when and I really forgot how ridiculously overpowered they can be.
What's your opinion on buying runes from websites? I looked on a few of those websites the bots spam games in, and $6 for a pack of 40 runes is a pretty good deal considering that that many high runes could easily net you some of the better stuff in the game. Or $12 for 80 runes even. It's very tempting. I've always loved Diablo but I've never had any luck with unique or rune drops at all, and $12 is a pretty good deal for 80 runes.
Finally finished Fallout 3. (I'll go back for the expansions later.)
Time to start up a MGS marathon.
At some point I need to play Ghostbusters as well since I got it from Gamefly like a month ago.
Ended up using a camera to beat that shit blockhead <_<
In Kamui now, weeee
I've heard that playing through again as a different class usually corrects any issues regarding elemental weapon trophies. It doesn't seem to be happening to everyone though.
Just started playing Kingdom Hearts 358/2. Sort of addicted so far (about 12 hours in). Just wish extended session on my DS wouldn't murder my wrists. XD
Figured rabies worked with poison, but no real way to tell. Thanks for the guide, couldn't find anything newer than 1.10 version.
I'll probably go back to my daggermancer, just needed a break after grinding. It's more of a niche build that doesn't work for everyone, skill selection is a huge factor that dictates playing style. Poison Dagger only really needs 10 points and benefits more from synergies in normal mode. I tried to max poison explosion since I kept a terror dagger on hand to turn enemies into suicide bombers to take out groups. Nova is almost useless without the right gear, but great against mobs of fast low hp monsters.
What AI curse did you use? I focused on Dim Vision since it stops special attacks and Attract to stop champions and bone mages immune to other curses. I used confuse for my last build, but it wasn't very reliable past normal mode. Curse choice can really make or break your build, I learned this the hard way.
HP and Vitality gear is very rare, but you shouldn't be getting hit if you're using a golem or bone shield. I chose clay golem, but I've seen one other Daggermancer use bone shield but only had a hard point in lower resist and used attract as an AI curse because of the bone shield synergies. It's all a matter of play style, but that might be your problem if you keep getting hit.
I don't blame you for giving the build up, most of the novamancers out there started out as daggermancers since the 2 builds are so similar in point distribution. But if you keep up with it, you'll have an insane boss killer. I used to be able to 2 shot Baal with my old build and eventually one shot him with that glitched charm I decided to keep. (Which is what damaged my account in the first place)
I've always been opposed to RMT so I'll never do it. I've gotten everything I have in the game from hard work and trades. It's almost as bad as people that pot during PVP, but that's just my opinion.
I ended up using Confuse which I think really did it in for me, it simply did not last long enough in Hell or even Nightmare. I'm definitely going to give it another try eventually, I just went in the wrong direction with stat distribution and skill distribution. I didn't even have Bone Armor and my golem had only one point in it as well, plus only a handful from crappy gear.
I understand about the anti-RMT thing, but I've seriously never been lucky in this game, so I was just thinking a few bucks would turn out to be a good investment that would allow me to build a character capable of running bosses, The Pit, etc., so I wouldn't have to buy again. That's really all I'd buy for, to be able to gear a few characters capable of MFing safely in Hell. I'm going to wait though because my friend is making a sorceress (unfortunately, he decided on a light sorc as well so my assassin and his sorc won't be able to deal with lightning immunities) and we'll probably be doing runs together once we're able. We don't play on Ladder either, so we wouldn't be able to give a merc Infinity armor to break resistances. Oh well, it's something I'm going to give more thought for sure.
Confuse isn't a horrible choice, it's just a double edged sword situation. Maxing it or having points past 20 is a must in Hell, but the radius gets so big that you'll pull more mobs in from other areas leading to mass clusterfuck situations. If it worked on champions, I probably would have mained confuse. Dim Vision only really needs 15 points in hell and with 1 point in Attract, you can take care of anything that comes your way.
Bone Armor can work, but you only have so many points to use that a golem is more productive in most cases. Also, Golems are top priority for monsters and bosses, so they'll ignore you until the golem dies or you decide to summon one:
Clay Golem- has insanely high HP, slows mobs (with enough points) and is resistant to cold.
Iron Golem- thorns aura can break down swarms in no time and can be insanely overpowered based on what items you sacrifice.
Fire Golem- Can make or break a pvp match since poison only reduces players' HP to 1, fire absorb really helps when you need it, and the splash damage it does when you summon it or when it dies helps when managing swarms
Blood Golem- Um... gets you killed.
Another tactic you could look into is having a merc with a Doom Rune word or the Act II hell merc with the Holy Freeze aura. If you get rushed to hell, pick up the merc, you could essentially not have to spend points on curses outside of Lower Resist and it's prerequisites or even a golem. Not sure what you'd put the extra points into aside from Corpse Explosion for poison immune mobs, but could be something worth looking into.
Out of curiosity when you say you were able to 2, 1-shot baal you mean in hell mode right?
OT;
Currently playing Dragon Age origins, decent game so far.
