Gyromancer on PC can be fucking bullshit to beat things on it.
Going fast as I can with the matching shit but they throw abilities out like it's nothing.
BFBC2 beta
just bought Viewtiful Joe 2 for $4, and Disgaea 2 for a bit more. looking forward to trying out both of those (although Viewtiful Joe's price was so low that I'm wondering if it's any good, even old games tend to hover around $10).
unfortunately (or fortunately) I'm almost to the point in Tales of Symphonia where a ton of sidequests open up and you can get new costumes. and I am a whore - an absolute fucking no-limits whore - when it comes to unique outfits in my RPGs. in all honesty, dressing up my PC was my favorite part of FFXI. so I'll probably do that tonight and hook my PS2 back up tomorrow. I need an input switcher, grr.
you should get rogue galaxy then, 5-6 unlockable outfits per character!
edit: viewtiful joe was pretty great when it first came out, not sure how well it's aged, but it's a fun little action game. One of the later bosses is frustratingly difficult but it's a pretty polished experience, especially for 4 bucks.
I may have to... that is mighty tempting.
I saw a video of some chick doing combos or something the other day, and the combat looked very interesting, with the buttons appearing all over the screen resulting in some parappa-ish gameplay. and I have to say, it looked like a lot of fun.
Daikatana....uhh...that game was terrible.
*Main character time travels and first thing he encounters is a MASSIVE BUG* Hooow creeeative.
If you are into fantasy FPS's you are much better off with Hexen/Heretic boosted by Doomsday engine.
so I ended up playing Viewtiful Joe 2 last night, got far enough in Symphonia to give it a break.
oh man. now I understand all the fuss. I tried the original in a store but without understanding the battle system, I thought it sucked. now that I know how dodges and VX powers work, I'm loving it. I can only imagine how good the original is, since most reviews say VJ2 is not as good. definitely some fantastic brawler gameplay.
not to mention the game oozes style. I'm beginning to fall in love with Clover studios.
I still haven't played VJ or VJ2, I wanted to when they came out but I forgot all about em after a while.
One day I might get around to playing them.
...as for me, I'm just ACTIVATING COMBAT MODE.
Shame it's been disbanded, with the talent gone off to Grasshopper studios, which have since been working on No More Heroes.
Clover Leaf last I checked got the Viewtiful Joe series out (1 & 2, plus that multiplayer brawl spin-off), Okami (Wii port was done by another dev), and God Hand (fucking awesome beat-em-up once you understand the control mechanics and can overlook the game's visual shortcomings)
