Rudra ni hihou...it was one of the few snes rpg that I never played until now. It's pretty fun in a nostalgic kind of way (even if I never played it before), and the music is pretty damn sweet.

I didn't know the composer was the same as Mystic Quest... interesting. music was probably the best part of MQ.

now I want to replay MQ >_> not even sure if I'd still enjoy it, I should probably leave it in the warm embrace of nostalgia.

anyway, for the time being, I still have Phantom Brave to grind through. finally beat the cheapfuck last boss by getting some level 1000 items with so much speed that my characters were getting three or four turns to each one of his. how do you like that, asshole? now that the tables are turned and I'm the cheap bastard, it doesn't feel so good, does it?! HA!

...ahem. sorry. I got a little excited about that. but in my defense, the last boss is really cheap.

anyway, time for the good old NIS-endgame grind. anyone who has reached level 9999 in a NIS game knows the deal.

Yeah, Mystic quest had epic music back then, and still does.

I beat it again a few years ago, and nostalgia was still strong. There was something really addicting about the gameplay. Clearing the map of the monsters, getting weapon upgrade, blowing shit up to reach chest, destroying the "tombstone" thing on the map to get reward....that kind of gameplay doesn't get old, because it's very rewarding.



Mystic Quest and SoulBlazer were two of my favorite snes game for this reasons. Quality is nowhere near some of the best rpg, but there was something addicting about them.

After getting really tired of XI at the time, XII was really refreshing and fun to play for me. I liked having to plan and be tactical with smart gambits and really it just felt like a much more fun version of XI. Never got any of the complaints against it and wasn't even in very far, just bad about sticking with games.

Just for the sake of mentioning awesome games not avail in the US, if you've never played Bahamut Lagoon, I highly suggest!

Yeah, Bahamut lagoon was kinda nice. The battle system was annoying, but I liked it.



About FFXII, my biggest issue was the "randomly generated crap". I don't want 1% chance to fight a NM, or find a good loot in a chest, I want immediate 100% reward for my works.

I loved the story, gameplay, graphics in overall. It's a shame they had to end the game earlier than they wanted...story was getting pretty damn awesome in the last bit.

I think you have it backward, the anime is based on the game, and is very horrible (well, the little I watched). P3/P3 FES are great though.

Me too. Tried it out, uninstalled after 10minutes. Nice looking classes if someone likes the style, but the controls were horrible, graphics were so-so and the GUI was annoying :D

Personally, I thought it played out like a dating sim early (which is close to many animes in a sense), but the plot was pretty good, and some of the characters were great (junpei/Aegis in the 2nd half particularly).

Let's see... after AC2 I beat briefly entertained delusions of finding all the templars/flags in AC1 then realized this was like well over 700 items and gave up after only being able to get 32/33 teutonic flags in Acre and realizing I didn't have the patience to backtrack. So I beat Prey in a day, easy shooter and definitely not aging well but semi-entertaining at least.

Finished Secret Files: Tunguska for Wii while waiting other games to play, which is pretty good for a point & click although the voice acting gets really grating. I played 2 more stages of de Blob, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite Wii games despite the fact that a single stage can take upwards of 45 mins - 1 hour with no way to save your progress and pick it up later.

Yesterday I went through the entire Borderlands DLC which was great, although I still have the Braaaaaains quest left (and I think there's one more after that? hmm). I'm really kicking myself about not getting level 50 before starting playthrough 2 and restarting every time I didn't get a backpack SDU, but eh.

Currently playing the God of War collection, normally I don't replay stuff that much but with the new graphics it's just as fresh. I've forgotten how much I hated the tiptoe segments of GoW1 (particularly hades).

I have no idea what to play after this... Prince of Persia PS2 marathon? Maybe a big RPG? Hmm...

Easy as shit game (so far, am half-way through the 3rd set of stages with the pool in your yard) but addictive as fuck for some reason. The ideas and jokes put into this game are brilliant.

It gets moderately tougher. There are a few side challenges that are pretty tough also. Game is just awesome in general. : p

Just finished playing the first god of war for the first time in the collection. I regret picking hard mode first.. some parts of that game were just ridiculous. Now I have GoW2, Uncharted 2 on Crushing to finish my plat, Dead Space and Dragon age origins to play on ps3. Also got Batman AA and Assasin's Creed coming in the mail from amazon as well as 5 more games on the wii I haven't started. Gotta love my birthday and blackfriday being so close together.
