So What Are YOU Playing?

I quit playing God of War about 3/4 through it (the Hades level). I really don't like it. I had no problems with Chains of Olympus (although I found it a bit boring), but I just can't enjoy the original. The camera is absolutely horrible (few times it would switch in the middle of a jump, plunging me to my death), and the game's idea of "challenging" is simply being cheap. It's more frustrating to me than fun. At least I know I don't have to worry about dropping $60 on GoW3.

Aside from that, I'm caught up on my backlog (aside from 100% on GTA4, but I missed a pigeon somewhere and don't feel like spending 8 hours to check all 200 of them again to find which one it is) and don't have anything new to play. I'm considering Assassin's Creed 2 next, but I never played the first one and am not too sure if I'll enjoy it. (The last game I bought into the hype about was Uncharted, which I absolutely hated, so I'm pretty weary about buying into hyped-up games.)

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought it was just being cheap rather than challenging. The game really wasn't fun at all... I was just finishing it for the sake of finishing it.

Be glad you didn't have to deal with the final boss. There was only one moment in the actual game that made me rage more than that and that was the room right before pandora's box. Honestly I'm really hoping the second game is better and that these games aren't just all hype like it currently seems.

AC1 was pretty good, especially since you can find it for 10-20 bucks most places these days. You do kinda need to play through AC1 to understand the underlying plots in AC2, although you could probably get away with just watching the present-day sequences on Youtube, but AC1 is enjoyable enough (if you don't mind some repetitiveness) for the price.

GoW1 was great when it first came out, control/camera issues aside. The hades level was probably the worst part of the game, I remember almost breaking a controller in frustration the first time I played it (and I'm not looking forward to that section in GoW Collection) but GoW2 did a pretty good job of fixing a bunch of those issues. The story for GoW1/2/3 is worth the frustration of that stage.

Playing PS2 version of Chaos Legion again since it's been 5 years since I last played it.

Got a PS3 with Black Friday, playing inFAMOUS. This game is tons of fun and I've only finished two mission/quests.

Quick question for anyone: How does Prototype compare to inFAMOUS? Is it the same feel from both games? I know they both came out relatively close to each other, but when I had Gamefly, Prototype was always very low availability.

Prototype is alright, it's similar in terms of the open-world super power gameplay, but it's really repetitive and some of the controls are beyond annoying.

It gets boring attacking in the same animation at the same helicopters and running away in the same manner all the damn time.

i particularly didn't like the way they put those collectible thingies on the tips of antennas but made it so your character wouldn't be able to climb them with enough to precision to avoid flipping around mid air like a cat right after it takes a dump.

Sounds like a definite rental, thanks guys. I was kind of hesitant to get inFAMOUS because I thought it would end up repetitive as well, but we'll see. I really enjoy the comic-book feel to it for the cutscenes or whatever you'd want to call those segments.

Uncharted 2, pretty sweet so far. The graphics are sick, the gameplay is smooth and polished. Story is meh....

Beat God of War 1 and God of War 2, I've already played both but I forgot just how much better GoW2 was than the original. The GoW collection is really nice though, well worth the price imo.

Then replayed Uncharted 1 while I wait for my copy of Uncharted 2 to arrive, got a bunch of medals/trophies and 61/61 treasures.

Started on a little Secret Files 2 but they switched the voice actors so it was a little weird for me so I just started inFamous. Really liking infamous a lot so far, this is exactly my kind of game.

Next up is a SNES RPG (thanks yuri!) but I'm not sure what. Probably Lufia 2, 7th Saga, Terranigma, or uh... idk what, honestly. Semi-considering playing the first Fear Effect for PS1 cuz I never have, but we'll see.

Then again, Uncharted 2 should be here soon...

Haven't finished GoW 2 yet in the collection but yeah its definitely alot better and much more enjoyable than the first. If its this good throughout then I will probably get the 3rd.

Picked up L4D2, Brutal Legend, and Dragon Age on black friday for $35/ea.

Brutal Legend is great, Jack Black is hilarious as always, and the game itself is a lot better than I thought it would be.

Dragon Age has me hooked after about 2 hours play time. I picked a human female magi, story didn't take long for me to become immersed.

Haven't played L4D2 yet, but I loved the first one so I'm sure it will live up to expectations.

Playing Nostalgia, such a fun game. Just got the 2nd flight core, I CAN FLY ANYWHERE NOW FUCK YEAH, flying over South America to see that Rio was one of the cities included in the game, made me extremely happy, yay~

Except now I feel like playing Skies of Arcadia again

I'm about halfway through MGS3. Hope to have time to finish it by this weekend.

Rented Wet from GF. Played it for about 10 minutes. The controls are horrid in that game. I loved the style though.

Picked up a ton of games over the last month. Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia, MLB 09, Oblivion, MGS4, Dragon Age: Origins and Left For Dead 2. Only one I've played so far is PoP. I want to finish MGS3 and 4 before getting into another deep game.

what else? phantom brave. reached level 9999, now I have to spend a couple hours fusing 9999 items into each other to create a super-weapon capable of destroying the standard NIS postgame bosses.

kind of a pain, but man, there is just something fun about doing so much damage the game has to truncate it. I've gone past 1000k already. pretty sweet.

not playing anything else really, it's all been put on hold until I'm satisfied with my team in PB.

What's the name of that RPG game some forums have? I don't remember it too well but it had basic RPG stuff and Tetramaster on it.

Edit: Nevermind, found out the name. RPG Inferno. I remember it being fun to play but the forums I've found it on are lame and require X amount of posts before you can play.
