I'm hopefully finishing up Uncharted 2 this weekend, friend let me borrow it, and then I'm going to play through Resistance 2. I'm also pouring a great deal of free time into Disgaea - Afternoon of Darkness for PSP, dear god this game is deep lol. 30 hours in and I'm so obsessed with the item world that I'm only on Episode 5.

Sands of Destruction is pretty slow going, I mainly wish the battle mode was more action based rather than a simple FFX-style turn system, and it's slow at that (waiting on the jump-towards-monster animation wastes the bulk of the time), will give it a couple more hours, hopefully the story will pick up more.

Been slowly working on FEAR2 still, although I got distracted the other day and finished off the Platinum trophies for God of War 1 (managed to beat the Challenge of the Gods within an hour), and inFamous (long overdue, just had to farm 7k XP for two powers).

I've also been spending time on the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 table for Zen Pinball which was released yesterday, and I'm actually quite enjoying compared to the piece of shit that was the Street Fighter table a few months ago. One of the few games I have no problem making DLC purchases for. I mean, $2.50 for a virtual pinball table complete with multiple leaderboard score tracking options? Sign me up, cheaper than buying a retail compilation of usually shittier-quality physics/graphics, and the base game is only $10 to begin with. (which includes 4 fantasy pinball tables)

I've been playng a lot of Dissidia and Demon's Souls. My girlfriend's brother bought Fatal Frame on the PS2 which btw looks AMAZING on the ps3, so i've been watching him play that and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories that we bought him for christmas. This, in turn, made me go out and buy Silent Hill Homecoming for the ps3 which is actually a very fun game :D I've beaten it once during a rental but its just a fun experience to pull out every now and then.

Ooh also we've been having fomr family time with Buzz Quiz TV. I won, like, the first 4 games and now everyone works together to keep me from winning. Freakin bs i swear. What's hilarious though is that the videogame dlc i bought has a few questions that shows how mindless Sony can be. "Which one of these features does this marvelous device (a PSP lol) share with the Playstation 3?"

But anyway, I got that new zelda for xmas too but I had to stop playing it because apparently the microphone on my DS is borked so i have to play on my gf's. Pretty fun and creative game though

Started into Tomb Raider: Underworld. It's a decent game. I may work through it over the weekend to get it back to Gamefly.

playing Sands of Destruction, so far it seems pretty good. not great, like I'd hoped, but pretty good.

    pros and cons:
    + intriguing characters and story
+ nice sprite-based graphics on detailed polygonal backgrounds
    + great music

    - brainless battle system
    - awkward localization

Getting the Platinum on this on hard is making me want to pitch a fucking brick at my PS3. Good game, but good god I'm pushing like 80+ hours and I'm not into 5-3.

Though I've honestly been neglecting it on and off, it's my backup game whenever my newer stuff loses my interest.

I actually hear a lot of people bitch about the VAs for some reason, but to be honest I think they did a pretty solid job with them. The only VA job that's really an atrocity is Judas, but I don't think you actually hear his voice until like halfway through the game if not later.

Are you playing on hard or what? You might want to print yourself out a truth-end guide too if you're going for all the items + the last two areas, because there's just an obscene amount of stuff that you can miss that are criteria that require you to go certain places and do certain things at particular points in time that I can't imagine how anyone figured out in the first place.

I'm playing on normal for my first playthrough and going to follow this guide

    http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/file/946194/56741

Unless there is a better one out there.

I downloaded some of the free dlc but not touching the weapons from it since it makes it OP, fought the mummy boss and killed it in one hit, going to wait and use them when their actually needed.

I'm going to try and do the true ending so I'm making multiple save points. Does Lyner die at all? Thinking of making him into a tank or something.

No one dies, if you aren't using the DLC weapons though make sure you use Raze when you get him, he's the character guilty of being forced into your group in the highest number of important story fights.

Gray Fox's guide is the best one to do, just be aware though that you don't get access to 5-3 without being on hard mode.

You'll probably never need the DLC weapons/armor on normal, I use some of them still in the endgame because they're on par with ultimate weapons and astronomically easier to get, but they make the story almost unbearably easy.

The one thing you'll want to keep in mind is the game is seriously grindy, don't be surprised if you jump from something like 1-1 to 1-2 and the enemies are smearing you across the grass. Also, a couple dungeons have random encounters that are rare mobs that happen to be like 50 levels higher than anything else in the dungeon. Watch out for those.

And that's when I'll throw on the dlc weapons >_>. When do you unlock costumes? I don't feel like buying the dlc costumes just right now but are they unlocked later in the game? Oh and fuck Etna fight fffffffff wasn't prepared for it.

You get the costumes as you go, basically make sure you search out every soul you can find and unlock them, you'll get them through the database unlocks. The DLC costumes are actually really really good. Having Felicia and them in wedding dresses is odd, but the costumes are easily better than any other ones in the game.

I'd get the DLC costumes personally, it makes the end areas a lot more tolerable, especially in hard mode.

Just beat MGS4, best game I've played in a long ass time, don't know why people complain about 'no gameplay' there was plenty of gameplay there were just also plenty of extended cutscenes.

I'm moving onto Demon's Souls now.

MGS4 was good, but it wasnt the game of the decade as alot of people I know were claiming. Wasn't even top 5 in my opinion.

Yeah I just finished fighting demitri and lilith(killed her only) and unlocked a lot of titles and costumes by that point. I like Etna's "ultimate costume" text "You've been waiting on this?" or something like that.

I'm really enjoying this game so far and there is a 360 version being made named Cross Edge DASH! so wonder what extras will be in that.

edit: 360 version came out in japan on october 1st.

Pretty sure NISA already commented that they weren't planning to localize DASH on account of poor sales of Cross Edge in general and their other releases on the 360 selling really poorly.

MGS4 was just... different. I can understand peoples complaints since they went overboard with the cutscenes.

Practicing like mad on Madden 10 since I haven't touched a madden game since 2006. Also capped my Alchemy @100 on Dofus 2 and moving on to Tailoring. Kind of glad I'm playing as a chance Enutrof since materials drop more frequently.

Enjoying Black Sigil much more than I thought...regardless of the high random encounter rate. Also playing Batman AA now.

Started Soma Bringer recently after the mention in the DS games thread, but having trouble picking a character/class/weapon combination I like. I started out with Cadenza as a Gunner with a Bow, but I didn't feel very involved since everything seemed to die before I ever got to them because of my team. I like the zoomed in look, but I guess that only fits for melees.

This seems to be a reoccurring problem of mine, I couldn't decide on weapon combinations in Bayonetta either. lol

Anyone have any preferences or recommendations? This game looks and plays pretty wonderfully so I'm going to keep with it and maybe jump to Sands of Destruction later on.
