    Every race I've seen so far has been rainy, yeah. I finally just stopped writing that part down. Assuming I try again tomorrow (which is likely, I'm too stubborn/stupid to give up), I think I'll go back to apples. In all my races using negative items, one has never landed on Sakura, so...

    It turns out the 17th time is the charm! Finally, finally, finally I beat the darned Dream Race. My 16th try was damned close, I was just one step behind at the end (she got hit with a bomb, but I slipped in the mud >< ), so I tried the same combo again on #17 (Final Spurt/Stam Apple). Somehow again she got hit by a bomb, and I didn't use my item until the last seconds (well after the 'final stretch' comment), and I won by a lot. That's really darned odd because on the rare times the bomb worked on her, she still usually won by a lot.

    Well, whatever! YAY YAY YAY! Thanks for all your help and comments, everyone!

    Also, SE added something that lets you have a chocobo forget an ability it's learned, but I can't remember what it's called.

    And congrats on finally winning that race, Thistle. I would've killed myself long before reaching that many attempts.

    Thanks! And I wish I had known about that item a while back. When I was trying to teach canter and it took hundreds of tries (sensing a trend here? ) I was paranoid that I would hit the wrong story and have it learn the wrong thing by mistake.

    Thanks. I was going to start racing last night, but I got burned out finishing up the raising section. It was more work then I thought. I'll work on the racing page later, but for now enjoy the pretty picture I put up there instead .

    Thanks for spell checking for me each time . The item to forget abilities is supposedly one of the worms, but I couldn't find proof of it.

    On an unrelated note, my bird is now 8/8/1/3 (bye bye chocobucks). I just started digging for treasure to build up it's disc and will hopefully be done within the next 15 days. 8-)

    Nah, the worms supposedly were rumored to erase abilities but S-E added 2 different items that officially were supposed to do the job. It is not apparent what their differences are as far as I've read from people's limited experience using them. They are called Lether Potage and Lether Consomme, both are made with Eastern Ginger which can be bought with 3 chocobucks or harvested in Bhaflau Thickets or Wajaom Woodlands.

    Also, chocolixir I'm fairly sure only restores energy to full, while Celerity Salad is the item that cures at least most status ailments(it can even cure love sickness). I'm gonna go ahead and edit that now that I figured out I could do it after making an account <_> Also, "chocolixr" was spelled wrong Ryphen! lol

    Edit: Also, I thought for sure I had said it already but I guess I didn't o-o Grats, Thistle!

    Well, I never claimed it was 100% correct. xD It was a rather rushed spellcheck since I had to go do chores and stuff. If I only missed one thing, I'd count myself lucky.

    And I wish I was finished with this bird of mine. All of you people are making me jealous. I still have 1500 chocobucks of racing to do.

    Thank you for making the guide! I've been meaning to raise a chocobo for something other then the whistle, but I never knew which direction to take.

    And it might be good to add that chocolixir halfway fill up the chocobo (so you can use two per day). I did that many many days while trying to get my bird to learn Canter.

    Ok added. Looks like the individual item pages are coming along well too so that's nice. I also liked the "Aren't I cute?" caption on the baby choco pic.

    I'd be interested in more info into the racing aspect of chocobo raising. It would be nice to know how the saddles affect chocobos, and how much discernment you need for the Grass/Cotton/Linen saddles among other things. Speaking of saddles, what do you all tend to go with? I've been doing Elm/Ash but I'm not sure what's best really.

    I've also always wondered about the other random items nobody ever uses like chocobo blinkers and such XD.

    On another random note, I actually planned to raise my chocobo with a friend, and a third one with a character we share with each other mainly for chocobo whistle purposes, but in the end she didn't trade in her egg until 5 days after I did and I just had mine and that other character's on the same day. I raised both at once, and I noticed something peculiar. And that was they always got the same exact status effects and stat growths for the entire beginning(I'd guesstimate 2-3 weeks, I keep my logs so I can look stuff up if need be). They always got sick at the same day, always got cured the same day, always perky the same day, stats always went up the same day. They had one parent in common and both turned out to be green chocobos, but I think that's probably irrelevant. They only started to change when I started testing out food. One day I decided to just feed different things/amounts to see the differences and that's when they started to differ.

    I finally got this third character's chocobo's stats to the same as my main's, 8/6/4/4/Gallop/Canter, but no weather pref as of yet, and is on Dream Race. My friend is currently 8/6/4/4/Gallop only no weather pref and is on cactuar race, so we should have 3 Pullus Torque characters tonight :D This should be fun! We're the only ones I've seen on Fairy so far with it, not many do chocobo racing and the circuit is always empty.

    Edit: Won Dream Race 3rd try with Speed Apple, stats 8/6/4/4/Gallop/Canter

    The Chocobo Racing section is now done! I added in a table for saddles, but I have no idea how much discernment/receptivity is needed for a few of them.

    Sonofabitch friend's chocobo suddenly likes Sunny weather and dislikes Rainy weather today, the day it learned Canter, so it's not like she can skip updating it in terms of racing D: At least she only has the Dream Race left, but that one is always rainy! I wonder if it would affect the racing aspect much? I guess I'll see tomorrow. This should be interesting to say the least...

    It is interesting to note that she hadn't taken it for walks in a week+ either, and had been on digging for treasure until today, so again I believe weather affinity may have more to do with digging for treasure(or care plans in general) than it has to do with taking a chocobo on long walks. I didn't think any of us would end up with chocobos liking weather other than clear, since everywhere I read it's suggested that it's fairly rare.

    I'm gonna try to add a few little things in to the wiki. There are some little tidbits in dats that might be useful that might otherwise not be immediately obvious. For example, it splits up status conditions into mental, physical, and emotional.

    Woo, congrats on the win!

    And I'd like to know more about saddles, too. Right now I just go with the first one on the list (lauan) because it seems like a default/neutral one. I'm a Sandy racer, and on Midgar Sandy is always last place in racing and just about everything else, so I only get the basic saddle choices.
