Thistle, when your nation's racing team is in first place it should be possible to purchase training items for retired chocobos (100 chocobucks each) to boost your bird's mental stats. I have not yet actually tried improving a retired chocobo, but if it is much like regular training, you should be able to go up to 5-6 levels distributed between your two remaining stats, with something like 5-7 training session to go up a level.

In other words, a huge pile of chocobucks, so I suppose it depends on how fond you are of your current chocobo vs. the trouble of raising a new chocoracer.

Edit: I'm not sure what the requirements for purchasing the Retired Chocobo training item are. 1st-Place racing team is pretty much common knowledge, but I suspect there may be other requirements, not sure.

Yeah. Unfortunately I'm with Sandy. I've never once seen Sandy first in racing stuff. :/

One day I might raise a new bird, but I don't know. Would probably be easier than switching nations and making a ton of chocobucks.

The 90-buck training token was for currently active chocobos, for a specifically selected stat -- and always has been constantly available regardless of racing ranks. The retired chocobo training is, as far as I know, a 100-buck option with variable availability. I personally have not ever tried to use retired chocobo training, so haven't looked for it regularly, however.

Something that might be related could be the option of the advanced racing saddles (Elm saddle, Mythril saddle, etc...), which I check somewhat more often. Until recently I haven't paid that much attention to what conditions make them show up, and although being first in nation rank is probably necessary, I seem to recall those options sometimes being missing while Team Windy was 1st, so there might be other requirements (Your personal racing participation in previous or current week? Not sure, hadn't paid enough attentio

Good. I was planning to switch racing teams to Windy while training my new bird, if the wiki had been right about it not being available to third place teams (lol Sandy).

500 chocobucks saved, 500 to go! Chick is 8 days old, I make roughly 50 bucks a day (which takes a while, seeing how my current racer can't beat any of the supers).

I may have time for nothing else on the game while dealing with that stupid chick, but when I'm done I'm going to have a good racing bird! Or a good Sunday dinner, one of the two.

Horrible observation: Herald Gaiters + Mazurka I think + Pitchform Costume movement speed up stack.

I know this because Xkid on Carby SHOT past me as a baby chocobo chick, nose level with the ground, stubbie little legs an absolutely comedic blur.

I died laughing as I tried to catch up.

Seriously, if you have those things, or enhanced flee or something, stack them, it is made of pure and complete awesome.

heralds + mazurka, yes. mazurka + pitchfork, yes. heralds + pitchfork, no.

gear and gear or spell and spell do not stack, its only gear and spells/abilities/buffs. thats why gear can stack with sprinters.

Well, he had Heralds and Pitchfork, I know he has Brd, but think he was on Blm at the time, and he was going a lot faster than just Heralds speed, so I assumed it was Heralds and Mazurka or something, how often have people with Heralds Gaiters tried running with a pitchfork and a costume on while wearing them?

He was going REALLY fast, not quite flee, but a good deal faster than Mazurka it seemed, I couldn't even keep him in sight.

Your just not racing enough. I made 600 (although my bird occasionally beats the Supers, and I race in Windurst which means one race less against a super) in the last two days alone
So I have to say the June update sucked, my birdy could do more than 50 per hour, now I only get a bit more than 40.

Btw, while your Chocobo is still being raised, get the training instead of the token. Stat specific training only costs 80 bucks, whereas the token doing the same costs 90 bucks. The tokens are nice if you wish to save up some training sessions before your Chocobo can be trained, you can also bazaar them or sell them on the auction house. (Nothing like pushing your Chocobo eight levels on the day it turns adult.)

Unfortunately I have a full time job, thus I spend most of the day away from the game. :/ I put three-ish hours a day towards "free" racing, which is a big chunk of my playing time. I'm sure if I could play all day I could do 300 chocobucks a day too.
